Solace Inc. v1.8 - Dissonance Update

Hey gamers! Haven't touched this game in a while, but I'm back with some more content for Solace Inc. 1!

I was originally going to put out an update for April Fool's called the Cutting Board Update, which made some... 'character design changes'



...but Emily held me at gunpoint and made me change it back



so, I had to pivot and added some other stuff that I wanted to add to the game a while back but was too busy working on Solace Inc. 2 to add, so I'm adding it now!

[h3]Boss Rush[/h3]



It's time to prove your worth in the Arena of Champions and fight against an onslaught of foes from the past!

As I've worked on this game I never really had an end goal in sight and didn't plan on there being a 'final' mission, so I've decided to add this in to be a semblance of that

[h3]Dissonances[/h3]



Anyone who's a lore enthusiast may have noticed that there's some characters in this game who canonically shouldn't be fighting alongside each other, so I've decided to fix that!

Dissonances are essentially Anti-Synergies, when certain characters are pair together they still start fighting each other instead of working together

I've also added in the usual stuff that I usually add (new recruits, new dialogue, new synergies, yadda yadda yadda) as well as some balance changes and gameplay adjustments

A major thing I should note is that enemies will no longer parry attacks, as I was working on the Boss Rush mission having to deal with minibosses constantly parrying attacks was a little bit annoying so I decided to remove that entirely, and the achievement along with it

Recruits and minibosses will also sidestrafe when attacking things now, so hopefully that will make combat a little more interesting instead of everyone just standing still while you occasionally jump over bullets and whatnot

That's basically it, this update is sort of a mixture of a late April Fool's update and a Sequel Promo update, hope you enjoy! (I'm also going to be updating the Android version soon, haven't touched that in a while lol)

The Solace Inc. 2 Demo is now live for Steam Next Fest! This demo contains everything that's been added up to this point, which includes a dozen playable characters, a handful of maps, and a bunch of weapons, hats, and skins to unlock and use!

OST Release, Small Update, & Solace Inc 2 News

Hey everyone! I'm back with a small update and a few announcements!

The Solace Inc OST Album is out now! It's available on:

I meant to release this after the game came out and completely forgot about it (adhd moment), so it's now available to download and listen for yourself!

It doesn't include any of the boss stage themes, those were created by Frogrammer so they're not mine to profit off of (although I do believe he's put it on Spotify)

[h2]v1.7.2 Update[/h2]

I've also released a small update for the game, I've added some new recruits (as always) as well as an update to the Art Gallery mission which includes some new artwork!





Most of it is from Art Fight 2024, I wanted to include them because a bunch of talented artists made art of characters from the game and wanted everyone to see it!
(I've also added some art viewing controls like zooming + panning to make it easier to see certain parts of the pieces)

[h2]Solace Inc. 2[/h2]

Over the past few months or so I've been working on a sequel to Solace Inc, Solace Inc 2!



(It's not really a direct sequel per se, it's just a new game that uses the same settings & characters so I'm calling it one)

I've switched over the using Godot instead of GameMaker Studio 2 and have been teaching myself 3D modelling via Blender and have been enjoying it, I've been wanting to make a proper 3D game for a while now

I'm also planning on it being an online multiplayer game, originally was going to have it be PvP but after doing some research it seems like a lot of indie PvP games tend to die out after a week due to low player counts so I'm probably going to have it be a co-op PvE game instead

It's very barebones and I've only been working on it for a few months so I can't say what the future plans for it are, but I may(?) have a small demo out sometime soon

- added new endless mode area
- added new endless mode enemy combinations
- fixed crash with polymorph potion
- fixed chrono corp artifacts subtracting incorrect amount of gems
- search menu in directory now stops at first result instead of the last
- other small fixes & changes

Made some changes to the environment + enemies of Endless Mode, including a new facility-esque area that has robot enemies in it

v1.7.1.0 Mini-Update

This is a bit of a "mini-update" that's basically a patch but I added some extra bonus stuff, such as a new mission for Week 7 and other goodies

The guy who made the boss music (Frogrammer) made another track for the game that was originally intended to be a miniboss theme, I decided that it went too hard so I added a completely new mission featuring a boss specifically for that song



I've also added in an option to set recruits as "Workers" in the directory, workers will stay behind at the HQ and won't appear during missions (and will provide a gem bonus for completing a mission), so if you want to whittle down the recruit pool or aren't vibing with specific recruits you can set them as workers



Also fixed some bugs and added some other extra goodies (like an 18+ exclusive recruit 😳)
