Exploration Log #7: Craftsmanship Beyond the Pixels

[p]Hello, Scavengers!
This is your Relay Officer from Scavenger T.O.M.

[/p][p]Before every mission begins—[/p][p]T.O.M climbs into a little chair.
Creak, creak—
Tiny arms reach out.
Click, click—
[/p][p]They might seem like simple, passing motions...
But behind each one is the care and attention of our animator,
pouring love into every frame to create something that feels truly alive.[/p][p]
If you’ve ever smiled at the way T.O.M moves—
that’s no accident.[/p][p]
Give a shout-out to the hands behind the motion,
who turn pixels into personality![/p]

Exploration Log #6: Special Zones – Someone Was Here

[p]Hello, Scavengers.[/p][p]This is the Relay Officer of Scavenger T.O.M.
[/p][p]As you dig deeper into the underground bunker, you may notice the air shift — and find a space that feels strangely familiar.
These are the Special Zones: hidden areas where traces of human life and rare supplies still remain.[/p][p](Note: The official name hasn’t been finalized yet. Internally, we call them “Special Zones,” but you might know them by a different name when you find one.) [/p][p][/p]
🚪 What Are Special Zones?
[p]You won’t find these zones by simply digging anywhere.
They appear deep underground, often by chance — and discovering one can feel like striking buried treasure.[/p][p]Inside, you might find signs of evacuees, broken humanoids, or rare materials lost to time.
Because they’re so rare, entering one feels like something unexpected is about to happen.
[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
🚇 First Look at a Special Zone — The Forgotten Subway
[p]The subway station is one of the key Special Zones, a place where the past remains untouched.
It’s designed to make you feel that someone once lived here... and tried to survive.[/p][p]Damaged platforms, shattered signs, broken windows,
An old SOS phone,
And a faded billboard that simply says: "HOPE."[/p][p]These aren’t just props — every detail is there to tell a story.
[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
🎯 What Makes It "Special"?
[p]These zones are more than just background scenery.
They’re designed to offer dense, meaningful experiences — exploration, loot, and unexpected events — all without breaking the flow of gameplay.[/p][p]Sometimes they reward you with useful supplies. Other times, they might surprise you with danger.
One thing is clear: these are not places you can simply ignore.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p]We're preparing various types of Special Zones beyond just the subway.[/p][p]If it were up to you, what kind of story-filled space would you like to discover?
We’d love to hear your ideas![/p][p][/p][p]Explore ruins, Craft to survive.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Exploration Log #5. Thump-thump… Connecting with T.O.M

Click click
“Tom~ can you hear me~?”

Tap tap tap
My toes can’t stay still — excitement first.

Fidget fidget
Even my fingers are waiting.

Beep… beep…
A quiet pause.
My heart goes thump-thump.

Beep-beep! Ding!
A little light flickers—

“Oh! It’s Tom! Tom, is that you!?”

To your sparkling signal—

Thump! Thump! Crash!
My heart rushes ahead of me.

Connection complete!
Time to explore the surface!!

📝 This little poem was written with the heart of someone eagerly waiting to reconnect with T.O.M on the surface.

(It’s based on the in-game animation that plays when a player links up with T.O.M.)

Exploration Log #4: Move to Survive (Action Preview)

Hello, Scavengers!
This is the Relay Officer of Scavenger T.O.M.

The bunker is safe.
but it's also a space that's frozen in time.
To survive, you must eventually move.
Even in confined areas, you'll need to vault over obstacles, climb up, and sometimes... fall.

In this journey, every movement you make becomes a record of your survival.

Today, we’re sharing a first look at the actions currently being developed.
Please note: everything shown is still early in development and subject to change.
We have a long way to go, but we hope you'll continue to support us on this path!
1. Walking – The Beginning of Survival
Walking is the most basic action for any survivor.
Too obvious? Maybe. But it's also the most used action in this world.

Whether you’re exploring unfamiliar terrain or cautiously moving toward the next safe area, walking is the foundation of your journey.
The controls are simple—but the decisions behind each step won’t be.
2. Climbing – Vertical Freedom
Going up isn’t just about elevation—it’s about gaining access to new zones.
When vertical paths appear, you'll need to embrace the direction of “up” to find better resources.

To survive, sometimes you have to go higher. It’s as simple as that.
3. Jumping – Mastering the Gap
That gap ahead might be a small ledge—or a deep chasm.
Either way, you’ll need to jump.

Jumping may seem like a simple input, but it triggers a flurry of sensations.
You’ll calculate timing, adjust direction, and manage the short moment between movement and fall.
Rhythm is key. Ready? One, two, three—jump!
4. Mining – The Most Direct Way to Get What You Need
Hammer in hand. Pickaxe raised. You strike the cracked wall.
Thud. Thud—

Mining isn’t just about collecting materials.
It’s essential for building your base, crafting equipment, and upgrading your survival gear.

You’ll need an eye for promising spots, the instinct to detect when something’s about to break, and the inventory space to make it count.
After all, your survival is built on the things you dig up with your own hands.
5. Death – Not an Action, But Still Critical
Death isn’t a mechanic we’ve finalized yet, but it’s in development.
One thing’s for sure—if you let your guard down, you will die.

Death is always sudden. But strangely, you might get used to it.

In today’s devlog, we shared a look at the basic actions of survival—
walking, climbing, jumping, mining...
Each movement is a part of how you'll live in this world.

We're still deciding on the next topic for our upcoming Exploration Log.
If you’re curious about any specific part of the game, drop a comment below! We’d love to hear your thoughts and may even feature your question in the next post.

Explore ruins. Craft to survive.
