Nominate He Is Coming for the Steam Awards!
Greetings!
The 2025 Steam Awards have begun! Nominations are open, and we’re hoping you’ll consider nominating He Is Coming in the Best Game on Steam Deck category. The competition this year is incredible, and there are so many great games that deserve recognition in this category. But your nomination can help spread the word about He Is Coming and introduce new players to everything it has to offer.

Here’s a closer look at why we believe He Is Coming is a strong contender for the Best Game on Steam Deck award.
Why Steam Deck?

He Is Coming was designed around short, meaningful decisions and fast-paced buildcrafting, which naturally lends itself to the Steam Deck’s pick-up-and-play style. Runs are quick, focused, and easy to return to, whether you’re exploring the Woodlands or facing off against undefeated champions in Kingmaker.
 • Verified for Steam Deck: All controls, UI elements, and gameplay systems work seamlessly on the Deck without any special setup.
 • Clear and readable: Item text, menus, and status effects are fully legible on handheld, making it easy to experiment with synergies on the go.
 • Smooth performance: The game runs well on default settings, keeping encounters fast and responsive without draining the battery.
 • Ideal for flexible play sessions: Whether you have five minutes or an hour, He Is Coming’s structure makes it easy to jump in, make progress, and step away at any time.
These qualities make the Steam Deck a natural home for the game, and many players have told us it has become their preferred way to play.
What’s New and Coming

Over the course of this year, since our release into Early Access, we’ve delivered multiple updates refining not just the balance and performance, but also adding a bunch of new features as well. Here are a quick overview of some of the things that have been added:
If you check out our roadmap, you’ll also see that the latest update comes with a new Friend Battle mode, where you can challenge and battle your friends in real time. And as always, we’re continuing steady development on the upcoming Darklands area of the game.
Closing Words

We’re incredibly grateful for the support from our community so far and from the feedback in our Discord and Steam forums to sharing your favorite builds and strategies. Your input is helping shape He Is Coming into the best version of itself, and we believe this game really shines on the Steam Deck.

If you'd like to support the game during the Steam Awards, you can nominate He Is Coming by clicking the “Nominate” button that’s part of this post. Nominations help the game gain visibility during the busy holiday season, and they often encourage players to leave thoughtful reviews that play a huge role for small teams like ours. No matter the result, we are grateful for every single vote and for the ongoing support you’ve shown for our team as we continue working on He Is Coming.

Thank you!

Major Update: Play He is Coming With a Friend!

[p]This update brings a different kind of confrontation to Kingmaker, the sort you can’t prepare for by theory alone. [/p][p]Until now, every fight lived in its own little bottle: builds saved, uploaded, preserved, and faced long after the person behind them had stepped away from the screen. It worked, in the way museum pieces work, but it also left a quiet gap. You never felt the pressure of someone making decisions at the same time you were making yours.[/p][p]Real-time 1v1 battles step into that gap. Two players, one seed, and a set of choices that begin together but drift apart as soon as the run starts to breathe. You move through five stages, each one its own small test, until one of you reaches three wins. [/p][p]What you get is simple: Just the steady back-and-forth of two people trying to outthink each other with whatever their run happens to give them.[/p][p]Now let's get into the details.

New Feature: Real-Time 1v1 Battles[/p][p]This update introduces a major new way to play: real-time 1v1 battles. Until now, all encounters in the PvP mode, Kingmaker, have been asynchronous, where players faced uploaded builds rather than each other directly. [/p][p]With this update, you can now challenge a friend and try to outsmart each other in real-time. Challenge your friend to a friendly or unfriendly duel to see who comes out on top. [/p][p]Both players start from the same seed, but the path you take and the choices you make will decide the outcome. Battle your friends in 5 stages, where the first player to win 3 battles takes home the victory.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]If you have any feedback on the mode or features you'd like to see added to it, please let us know![/p][p][/p][p]Patch #11 Changelog:[/p]
Steam Reviews: We'd Love To Know What You Think

[p]If you give this patch a try, we’d really appreciate a Steam review. Reviews do a lot: they help other players understand how the game feels right now, they influence how visible the game is on Steam, and they guide us on where to focus next. A short, honest review after playing goes a long way, and we make sure to read them all.[/p]
