Sanguine Demo


This patch contains a bunch of new features including Localization support, Character Select & Choose your path. Along with a few updates, improvements and fixes.

[h2]Alpha 1.0.7 Patch Notes:[/h2]

[h3]Localization Support added![/h3]
  • There is now localization support for French, German and Spanish. You can change your language in the options menu.
  • There are still a few things that need to be localized such as the intro video and a few images.
  • I'm intending to release additional locals with the full release of the game. Right now I'm expecting to do at least Japanese and likely Russian. If there's a language you'd like to see, let me know!
  • Choose your path is now implemented!
  • After selecting your character you'll be prompted with an option to play the game in either the Classic or Modern mode.
  • Classic features the fixed camera angles and tank style gameplay.
  • Modern features the camera over the players shoulder, in third person.
  • This selection is final until you start a new game! Play both options if you'd like~
  • Character select screen is now implemented!
  • When selecting new game, you'll now see a little backstory about the characters that you'll be able to play.
  • The demo is locked to only allowing you to play Kris

  • Added saved data encryption
  • Added sound effect for combining the lighter and lighter fluid
  • Added new music for the end game ranking screen
  • Added the ability to stack items in the players storage box
  • Added new medical crate container
  • Added a few new cutscenes in the Diner location
  • Updated a few POI's in the Forest location
  • Added new hurt sound effects for the Corpse blood, Fast Corpse blood and Large corpse blood
  • They'll play at random rather than hearing the same sound over and over


[h3]Bug Fixes & Optimizations:[/h3]
  • Fixed a few lights not being properly lit throughout the world
  • Updated the TV/VHS player to automatically accept the VHS tape and remove it from your inventory
  • Added specific 3rd person tutorial document
  • Fixed issue that could occur when quitting the game
  • Fixed settings reverting correctly when not applied
  • Lowered SFX volume of breaking crates
  • Fixed issue with the 3rd person game mode mouse state not being locked at all times
  • Fixed a few collision errors
  • Fixed a crash that could sometimes happen in the gas station caved in area
  • Updated several text fields to auto size based on localization size
  • Reduced the file size of several textures
  • Updated the HP tutorial document
  • Optimized the Glock19's accuracy to the direction it's being pointed

Sanguine Demo

This is a small patch addressing a few issues from the last patch and adding logic to combine both demos in.

[h3]Patch Notes:[/h3]
  • Fixed a bug where some lights would not activate when they should
  • Fixed a flickering issue on the dumpster fire light
  • Added in choose your experience, which is for the main game, this demo is locked to Classic though
  • Increased 180 turn speed by 50%
  • Adjusted the camera spawn in location for when you enter the gas station area
  • Updated a few items to no longer be allowed to drop such as the crowbar
  • Fixed an issue when sometimes when you end the demo you'd receive a black screen rather than the post-game screen
  • Fixed an issue where the credits video on the main menu would not play

[h3]This patch contains a new feature and some fixes/optimizations.[/h3]
There is also a third person over the shoulder version of the demo now available on itch - Click Here to view.
The plan is to build it into one version and once I have that, I will update it on steam too.

[h2]Patch Notes:[/h2]
-Rebuilt lighting and optimized several lights and trigger activations for lights
-Added new sound effects for using bandages, making bandages, making gunpowder and upgrading the glock19.
-Added the Knife Sheath. It's a cosmetic that is automatically applied when the Kitchen Knife is in your inventory.
-Added the Gun Holster. it's a cosmetic that is automatically applied when the Glock is added to your inventory.
-The Pump Shotgun now is displayed on your automatically when the Pump Shotgun is added to your inventory.
-These weapons will be visibly removed when equipped in your hand.
-Fixed some audio bugs.
-Added the ability to move items in the inventory (unless they're equipped).

Alpha 1.0.4 Patch Notes

This is a small patch fixing some issues and adding some things left out from 1.0.3

  • Fixed two areas that had possible crashes
  • Added in a gate between forest / behind diner
  • Recompiled shaders fixing various lighting issues
  • Adjusted inside Diner Camera
  • Adjusted all music levels
  • Added new SFX for: Glock19, Shotgun, Breakable Boxes, Wet Footsteps, Slug Bloods, Corpse Blood body falling

Alpha 1.0.3 Patch Notes

The demo has reached an alpha state! While there's still much to do and improve, I deeply appreciate everyone who has provided feedback and wishlisted the game—your support means a lot. This patch includes numerous fixes and major updates for the Sanguine demo, introducing a brand-new end game ranking system, extensive Main Menu and UI enhancements, significant map improvements, audio reworks, and much more.

Note: It is highly recommended to create a new save.

[h2]Key Updates:[/h2]

[h3]End Game Ranking System[/h3]
  • Introduced a new end game ranking system with seven different ranks to achieve.
  • Ranks are determined by:
  • Time taken to complete the demo.
  • Number of saves used.
  • Rankings will appear upon completing the demo.


[h3]Main Menu[/h3]
  • Added a new 3D background for the main menu.
  • Adjusted button locations and highlights for improved navigation.
  • Added a Credits button to watch the credits video.
  • Fixed minor navigational bugs.
  • Added new menu sound effects (SFX).
  • Increased save file capacity.
  • Updated save data font for better readability.
  • Rolled back previous audio settings changes; it is recommended to keep audio at the default value of '0.'
  • Enabled the ability to pause the intro car crash cutscene using Esc (keyboard) or Start (gamepad).


[h3]UI[/h3]
  • Updated UI legend icons for keyboard users.
  • Added keyboard/gamepad detection for dialogue screens.
  • Improved new player experience dialogs and added a new tutorial for sprinting.
  • Enhanced the inventory UI:
  • Locked slots are now more visible.
  • Inventory dynamically adjusts when expanded.
  • Adjusted legend locations across all UI menus.
  • Updated the pause menu layout for key bindings.
  • Added a "Switch UI Layout" option in the pause menu, toggling between keyboard and gamepad layouts.
  • Updated document icons in the Files menu.
  • Added a damage feedback UI to show when the player takes damage.
  • Reworked the pickup text UI for better clarity.


[h3]Map Improvements[/h3]
  • The map now dynamically updates based on player interactions with the world:
  • Icons and text appear and persist after interactions.
  • Default state has the legend hidden.
  • Added a Legend toggle:
  • Click (mouse), Q (keyboard), or X (gamepad).
  • Refined UI layout for improved clarity.


[h3]Audio[/h3]
  • Reworked in-world audio to reflect what the character hears.
  • Added new surface SFX for various materials.
  • Enhanced and added multiple SFX cues for immersion.
  • Introduced:
  • Audio for Officer John and the character in the diner bathroom.
  • Dynamic world SFX.
  • Audio for swinging the kitchen knife.
  • A new song for the Main Street area.
  • Fixed various audio bugs.

  • Added a new credits video, custom music to come soon.
  • Added a new cutscene and slightly extended the demo.
  • Updated several existing cutscenes:
  • The corpse blood encounter.
  • The truck bed corpse blood scene.

  • A small cutscene introducing the mutated corpse blood.
  • New decals for environmental detail.

  • Rewritten and refined the text for nearly all found documents.
  • Updated the first tutorial document.
  • Moved the map tutorial document to the forest.
  • Added a new tutorial document in the shack near the mobile homes.

  • Resolved an issue where the first frame of the initial cutscene would flash.
  • Fixed multiple collision issues.
  • Addressed mouse state issues.
  • Fixed disappearing Officer trunk key.
  • Corrected long text running off the item examination window.
  • Resolved inventory issues with multiple items being selected simultaneously.
  • Fixed storage not updating after inventory expansion.
  • Fixed jittery rotation bug.
  • Corrected shot attack range and inconsistent headshot registration.
