🧙 EA UPDATE 10 - FROM THE DEAD



Brace yourselves, Update 10 has arrived! We've been hard at work on the game, trying to incorporate as much of your feedback as possible every step of the way. Therefore, we have been busy developing features for both this update and future updates. Nevertheless, this update has a lot of improvements, some reworks, and some new stuff as well. [h3]🪽 New Revive System 🪽[/h3]

We’ve reworked the Revive System for multiplayer, so you’ll never sit on the sidelines again! Now, if you die, you become a ghost! As a ghost, you can wander around the map and still collect XP orbs to help your team level up. We’ve also improved much of the feedback so players will be quicker to respond to teammates in need of assistance.

[h3]📊 New & Improved Stat Menus 📊[/h3]

This has been one of our most requested features, so we’re excited to share our new Stat Menus! Aside from your Player Stats, you can now also access the stats of each of your Spells, as well as view the Relics you collected. You can now also access your performance (kills, objectives, etc.) during the current mission at any time.

[h3]🦇 New Wizard 🦇[/h3]

The Spell Brigade’s most recent addition to the roster is quite an ominous fellow. Balthazar stalks the mission fields with his melee-focused Talon Slash. He also specializes in Lifesteal and has the unique ability to revive teammates from beyond the grave.

[h3]🤔 What’s Next? 🤔[/h3]
As you know, we put a lot of effort into staying up-to-date on player feedback so we can always deliver on what our players want the most. That being said, being the small team that we are, some of this content, like new Worlds or Bosses, takes a long time to design, implement, and iterate on.

Needless to say, trying to find the right balance between short and long-term development has proved a bit of a challenge. Because we DO want to keep giving you new stuff to check out regularly, and some of these things just take longer than a month to get right.

So if you’re wondering where the promised new world and bosses are, there’s your answer. We’re working on them. Wizards and Spells are just easier to add within shorter releases. But do not worry, they are coming soon! To summarize, here’s a quick rundown of the bigger things we’re currently working on:

🤝 Added the ability to access the pause menu while choosing items or waiting for items to be chosen.
🤝 Made sure all players receive rewards when they get disconnected or leave a match.
✅ Corrupted enemies do extra attacks when they have been overcorrupted.
🤝 Changed the store timer to only start when someone has picked the first item.

[h3]🎨VISUAL IMPROVEMENTS🎨[/h3]
✅ Added a visual effect when corrupted enemies do an attack, and added a unique damage number visualization.
✅ Tweaked the sizes of various wizards so they're more consistent. Fixed some visual bugs/jitter in the idle animations of some wizards.
✅ Improved the lightning effects for the Arcane Broadsword.
✅ Added a unique model for the Teethy Worm’s offspring.

[h3]⚖️BALANCING⚖️[/h3]
✅ Slightly reduced the damage of Aurora Wings for each extra target Augmentation.
🤝 Reduced the amount of HP added to enemies per Endless cycle.
✅ Added player position prediction to compensate for networking lag.
✅ Corrupted enemies attack 60% faster.
✅ Corrupted enemies are no longer corrupted after their last corruption attack.
🤝 Slightly increased gold rewards for longer runs.
🤝 Lowered the Gold threshold for unlocking the Infusion and New Spells Reroll button from 50,000 to 35,000.

[h3]⚙️STABILITY & BUGFIXES⚙️[/h3]
✅ Fixed an issue where players had to cancel matchmaking twice.
🤝 Fixed several matchmaking problems.
🤝 Fixed an issue where damage numbers would reach an integer overflow.
🤝 Fixed an issue where all respawn beams were big when the host was playing with Campanelli.
🤝 Fixed an issue where corrupted enemies copied the Critical Hit Chance and Critical Damage from the player that corrupted it; instead, they now have a fixed 10% Critical Hit Chance and 150% Critical Damage.
✅ Fixed a shader issue that would lead to a game crash.
✅ Fixed an issue where duplicate resolutions were added to the settings, locking the player.
✅ Changed the description of the Rocky Road spell so it's more accurate.
🤝 Updated the description for healing Augmentations that only heal teammates (and not the caster).
✅ Fixed an issue where the death splash of an enemy killed by a corrupted enemy was in the opposite direction.
✅ Fixed an issue where enemies couldn't spawn fast enough after killing a lot of enemies.

🤝 Implemented a setting to enable/disable damage numbers.

🤝 Increased Magnet attraction rate for all Wizards. Adjusted Bryony’s Wizard Trait so she now attracts all XP Orbs when picking up a Magnet.

🤝 Fixed a bug that caused a glitching sound to occur when the Aurora Wings targets Swarmlings.

Our ninth early access update called Dark Devotion is now available! Check out the highlights below, or scroll to the bottom for the patch notes.

We’re very excited to share this fifth element! You can now infuse your Spells with this Dark new element, which will allow you to corrupt enemies so they turn to your side. Oh, and you can also combine this element with the others, creating many new combos.

[h3]🌱Another Wizard🌱[/h3]

The Spell Brigade adds yet another Wizard! Bryony is a potion specialist/herb enthusiast, who is also half plant. Her signature Spell is called Vengeful Sprout, which grows giant plants that attack any enemy within range.

[h3]💀3 new Enemies💀[/h3]

We have added a new enemy to each of the 3 Realms. The Verdant Meadows are being patrolled by hordes of ravenous Stampeders, the Frozen Ancients are being stalked by the eerie Frostroot and the Pyrestorm Pit is now home to many flocks of migrating Swarmlings.

[h3]📜5 new Relics📜[/h3]

Finally, we have added 5 brand new Relics, and we have also rebalanced/reworked some old ones. Each new Relic can be unlocked by completing the right Quest.

The following Relics have been reworked/rebalanced:
Blood Speed: The less Health you have, the more your Move Speed increases (Max 21%)
✅ Joined Protection → Bulwark
Hard Lessons: The less Health you have, the more your XP Gain increases (Max 30%).
Go-Getter’s Grace: Your Revive Speed is increased by 50% for every Objective completed.
Power of Friendship: The closer your teammates, the more Damage you deal (Max 15% per teammate).
Evasion Mend: Every time you Dodge, you heal back 25% of the Damage dodged.
✅ Pacification → Steady Hand: Your Critical Chance is increased by 12% while standing still.
Healthy Growth: You regain 10% of your Max HP every time you Level Up.
🤝 Sudden Revival: Your Revive Speed is increased by 50% for every teammate you revive (or revived).
🤝 Fist of Support: Your Damage is increased by 10% for every teammate you revive (or revived).
🤝 Bountiful Quests: Your Armor is increased by 10 for every Objective completed.
🤝 Savior Focus: Your Critical Damage is increased by 25% for every teammate you revive (or revived).
✅ Alchemic Pull → Alchemic Overload: Your Elemental Damage is increased by 5% every time you infuse a Spell.
✅ Also updated the Quest unlocking Alchemic Overload so the challenge fits better with the Relic’s effect.
✅ Relic icons have been updated to better match their new effects.

💰 Introducing Special Contracts: less-played Wizards will receive a Gold bonus on the next run.
🤝 Completing Objectives will now offer Rare, Epic or Legendary Upgrades (no Commons) if no more Augmentations are available.
✅ Adjusted the behavior of the Magnet so it works better with Bryony’s Wizard Traits.

[h3]🎨VISUAL IMPROVEMENTS🎨[/h3]
✅ Added status effect visualizers to enemies for Acid, Frostbite (Acid + Ice) and Blight (Acid + Dark).
✅ Added a despawn effect to the Spitter’s projectiles.
✅ Updated most of the Quest icons.
✅ Updated some of the Spell icons.
✅ Improved the readability and feedback of the Matchmaking toggle in the Lobby.
✅ Improved general consistency of UI feedback in the Lobby.
✅ Updated the Saving Icon so it doesn’t overlap with the Ready button in the Lobby.
✅ Fixed a visual issue where the version number and update countdown would overlap in the Start Menu.

[h3]⚖️BALANCING⚖️[/h3]
✅ Added a 15% Cooldown reduction to the rotating Augmentation for the Rune Burst.
✅ Increased the Max Health for all enemies by 5%.
✅ Raised the difficulty in Endless Mode. Starting from Cycle 2, enemy HP and Damage are increased significantly.

[h3]⚙️STABILITY & BUGFIXES⚙️[/h3]
✅ Fixed a bug where the Aurora Wings Spell healed their caster in multiplayer.
🤝 Fixed a bug where Kavin sometimes gained too much XP from taking Damage.
🤝 Fixed a bug where if a player died after killing Sol’phish, they would sometimes get stuck in the Level Up Menu with no choices.
🤝 Fixed a bug where dead players could be healed.
🤝 Fixed a bug where a player would be offered duplicate Augmentation choices when there were no more Augmentations available.
🤝 Fixed a bug where, with friendly fire disabled, Fire Spells with a Healing Augmentation would not properly heal teammates.
✅ Fixed a bug where enemies sometimes would not drop any XP orbs if they were killed too quickly.
✅ Fixed a bug where despawning enemies could still be damaged.
✅ Fixed a visual bug where Reginald did not appear frozen.
✅ Fixed a bug where switching between mouse and controller input did not work as expected.
✅ Fixed a bug where the Aurora Wings Spell would not spawn any birds.
🤝 Fixed a visual bug where the Quest reward popup in the Game Over menu would sometimes appear empty and non-interactable.
🤝 Fixed a bug where a player’s health would inaccurately be shown as 0.
✅ Fixed a bug where one of the Star Mage’s Wizard Traits would unfairly count towards a Quest’s progress.
🤝 Added the ability to navigate through the Wizard Menu with a controller’s right stick.
✅ Fixed a visual bug where Quest Completion notifications would not show in the Pause Menu or Loading Screen.
