v0.8 - The Shark Bait Update

[h2]The largest content update for Drop Pockets has finally arrived!![/h2]
Also I'm not dead!

I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who has played Drop Pockets, and who waited patiently for this update to arrive. This is a huge update and took a lot longer than I thought to put together.

TLDR:

Added 15 new pool sharks (+50% total shark count!)

Added a bunch of new items

All stackable ball effects no longer stack and now multiply base score. Items have been added to raise a ball's base score. This functions the same way as hot stacks, but is no longer limited to multiples of 10. Pocket effects has been similarly changed.

To avoid confusion between sinks (score limit) and sinks (ball entering pocket,) sinks (score limit) have been renamed to health.

  • Space ball: Demon core - 1.5x to all points, 10% chance to lose 2 health when hit, 8 ball
  • Junk ball: Magic Eight Ball - Increases a random pocket's points by 8 at the start of each round
  • Polish: +10 points to a selected ball
  • Polish: +$5 to a selected ball
  • Pocket modifier: +5 points to selected pocket

  • Hot ball now doubles ball base points and is no longer stackable
  • Gilded ball now doubles ball base cash and is no longer stackable
  • Poisoned ball now halves ball base points and is no longer stackable
  • Stinky ball now halves ball base cash and is no longer stackable
  • Cursed ball is no longer stackable
  • Curse has been added to the pool of stall penalties
  • Base point reductions have been added to the pool of stall penalties
  • Base cash reductions have been added to the pool of stall penalties
  • Oba Doball now has return scoring

  • Fireball now increases pocket base score by 5 when sunk
  • Gold nugget now increases pocket base cash by 2 when sunk
  • Sun now increases pocket base score by 5 when sunk
  • Venus now increases base score by 10 at the start of each round

  • Rack slots now start at $5 and increase by $1 with every purchase
  • Hot pockets now double pocket base points
  • Gilded pockets now double pocket base cash
  • Washing machine pocket now only removes stinky, poisoned, and cursed from sunk balls.
  • Rot pocket now nullifies negative multiplier and triples base cash when scoring stinky balls


[h3]MISC[/h3]

  • The score limit has been renamed from sinks to health. Functionally the same thing, changed to be less confusing and let "sink" exclusively mean "when a ball enters a pocket"
  • "Thanks for coming" achievement has three new guest shark requirements
  • Added difficulty and game time to results screen
  • Added a new music track to the unlocks menu

  • Fixed some items not properly showing their unlock requirement
  • Fixed an issue where reloading into a round would prevent balls from returning on a scratch
  • Fixed an issue where the game would lock up when viewing more details on a stinky ball
  • Fixed the small ball info displaying inaccurate numbers
  • Fixed a typo in Mercury's description
  • Slight tweak to the tutorial to account for shop overhaul

There was an adjustment period to this little game's reception, and I've just been learning as I go. (For example, I've learned that bulk adding sharks like this is not a good idea for consistent updates)

You all have blessed me with a successful year that I never thought I'd see.

Shop Overhaul and Soundtrack DLC
