A massive thanks to everyone who checked out the Tears Apart demo during Steam Next Fest! 🌌 Your feedback has been absolutely incredible, and it's given us tons of ideas to make the game even better. We’re so excited that we’ve decided to take a bit more time to bring these features to life, so we’re moving the full release to Q1 2025! But don’t worry—demo updates are still on the way, so keep playing and exploring! 🚀

Tears Apart Demo Update: Faster, Smoother, and Packed with Cosmic Fixes!

We’ve just released a shiny new update for the Tears Apart demo, and oh boy, did we fix some things! Here’s what’s changed:
  • Map size was HUGE. Until we add more content, we’ve decided to shrink it a bit. Now you’ll be finding stars more often—no more wandering aimlessly through the cosmos. 🌟
  • We found a magic button that boosts the game by 30 FPS. And yes, we pressed it. 💥 You’re welcome.
  • Interstellar synergies are here! These red-framed beauties are gonna shake things up in the best way possible. 🚀
  • Enemies scaling too fast? We noticed it too. Now they’ll chill a little more as you explore.
  • Fewer enemies per room. Yep, we’ve toned it down for better readability. Now you can actually see who (or what) is attacking you! 👀
  • Border rooms were way too big sometimes. We’ve fixed that, making them much more manageable!
  • Sound and music settings now work instantly in both the main menu AND the pause menu. You can now tweak those tunes anytime. 🎶
  • Dashy enemies nerfed! They now have a cooldown. No more endlessly dashing enemies harassing you! 😎
  • Controller dash issue? Gone! That annoying dash sticking bug when playing with a controller is history.
  • Room Guards won’t fly out of the room anymore. They’ve learned to stand their ground—no more knockback throwing them across the galaxy. 💪

Hey hey, cosmic adventurers! 👾

We’ve been hard at work laying the foundation for Tears Apart, and let’s just say, things are getting pretty epic (and slightly ridiculous in the best way possible). Here’s a taste of what we’ve been cooking up:

  • Enemies? Oh, they’re readable, they’re fun, and they’re ready to ruin your day (in a totally fair and strategic way, of course). Plus, the atmosphere? Dark and mystical, just the way we like it. 🌌
And the best part? Sometimes we think these enemies are learning faster than we are. Seriously… it’s a little spooky.

  • The HUD? Oh yeah, it’s looking sharp. We’re just making sure everything fits in the perfect spot, so if you’ve got any ideas where those UI elements should go… let us know. We’ll pretend it was our idea. 😉

You’ll see it and say, “That’s some sleek HUD.” Or you won’t… but we’ll know.

  • Starchart + Upgrades = one cosmic menu. You get stats. You get stars. You get upgrades. It’s like an intergalactic buffet, but for strategy nerds. 😎

Pro tip: if you stare at the Starchart long enough, you might see the universe reveal itself… or maybe just more upgrades.

And now, the cosmic secrets we’ve been hiding in the cauldron:

  • Procedural map generation? Yep, it’s happening. Prepare for some serious map variety and difficulty that ramps up quicker than we expected. 🎮 Also, maps that aren’t just the same room over and over. We promise.
  • New enemy types! Each constellation will have its own themed enemies. They’re smart, they’re tough, and they’re probably laughing at us right now. 6 out of 10 of them are cooler than us. The other 4 just try too hard.
  • Upgrades? Oh boy, we’ve got tons of ‘em. If things go well, the demo is gonna have enough ways to make you feel overpowered. If not… well, you’ll just feel “slightly” overpowered. 💪
  • Bosses? Oh yeah, they’re coming. Big, bad, and epic enough to make you question your life choices.

We LOVE hearing your thoughts and feedback. It’s what powers our dev engines (and our coffee makers). So keep ‘em coming! 🚀
