2025, a year in review

[p]Originally posted on 2025.12.22[/p][p][/p][p]Can you believe it's almost New Years? 2025 has been an amazing year for Dream Team Supreme, and we're glad you've been along for the ride![/p][p][/p][p]The game has changed a lot this year. We've made a short video to show just how far we've come since version 0.5 in January:[/p][p][/p][p]2025 game dev progress[/p][p][/p][p]The latest playtest, showcasing 0.15, has just officially wrapped up. However, we think it's looking so good, we're leaving it accessible over the holiday period! If you fancy giving it a spin, just go ahead and download it on Steam! You can still give us feedback in the Discord too.[/p][p][/p][p]Speaking of the holiday period - we're taking a break! Big Adventure will be taking a well deserved rest for the next 2 weeks, but we'll be back in action in January to continue the mission.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We appreciate all the support you've given over the year! Whether you've been hanging out in the Discord, giving feedback on the playtests, or simply cheering us on, thank you![/p][p][/p][p]See ya in 2026,[/p][p][/p][p]Sami from Big Adventure[/p]

[p][/p]
[p]We've got some really exciting updates to our game. Here are some things that have changed since the last public build:[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Super Supreme flies through the skies! and through the boot, menu, host, and join screens haha [/p]
  • [p]Giants jump into battle, rush in to attack, win or lose fights[/p]
  • [p]Cards draw, discard, gain, and exhaust visually[/p]
  • [p]Dr. Pierre Turner, PhD unlocks when you complete your first run 🔓[/p]
  • [p]HP bar, block and momentum have their own toy style panel[/p]
  • [p]Lock In in full toy style 20 new cards to play with[/p]

1 year of Dream Team Supreme newsletters

[p]Originally posted on 2025.11.25[/p][p]I hope you are doing well. Can you believe it's been a year since we started this newsletter?? Whether you've been with us from the start or this is your first email, thank you. Your interest in and support for Dream Team Supreme means the world to me.[/p][p][/p][p]We had ourselves a little old playtest since we last reached out and I'm happy to say that the Steam friend invitations worked great. There were more co-op games run than in the past playtests, and that's even with us introducing a co-op bug (uh oh). Thankfully, you told us all about it and our new set up allows us to fix issues on the fly. So nothing a little bit of bug squashing couldn't handle before uploading a new build.[/p][p][/p][p]This month, we're working on adding more juice to the first part of the game so that it lives and breathes while you're playing. Here are some of the updates we're working on:[/p]
  • [p]Really pumpy Lock In button[/p]
  • [p]Cartridges feel nice to move and slot in[/p]
  • [p]Cartridges transition visually when you draw, discard, exhaust, or gain them[/p]
  • [p]Giants will take up more presence[/p]
  • [p]20 new cartridges to play with[/p]
  • [p]And balancing changes thanks to our returning players[/p]
[p][/p][p]We're excited to share some news: Dream Team Supreme is taking part in Frosty Mini![/p][p]It's a showcase for games made in New Zealand or Australia and it will run from December 10th until Christmas Eve. There will be an announcement video with updates from 20+ games and then a Steam event with 75+ games to take advantage of demos and deals.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Above: summer is coming in the southern hemisphere, cool down with some games![/p][p]To celebrate our inclusion in the festival, we're going to schedule a playtest during Mini Frosty. [/p][p]If you would like an email reminder when the playtest is active, just reply and I'll make sure you get it.[/p][p]For all our friends in the states, we hope you enjoy Thanksgiving this week. Living in NZ, I'm just going to do the food part for fun, and I can't wait haha.[/p][p]See ya,[/p][p]Olivier from Big Adventure[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Playtest from November 6th to 11th

[p]Hello, fellow, scientists!!![/p][p][/p][p]Sami and Tom just came back from PAX AUS and it was a blast. The whole atmosphere is electric! Over the 3 days of the expo, we had so many people come by and play Dream Team Supreme in co-op. The 2 computers made it so much better than last year. Whether a group of friends, couples, or parents with their children, all had a great time suiting up as a scientist and playing together. The game really shines when you talk through your ideas and make a plan together![/p][p][/p][p]Thank you so much for playing and telling us what you think. It means the world to us.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Above: Scenes from PAX AUS 2025[/p][p][/p][p]Our next playtest is just around the corner, we'll be making the game available from November 6th to 10th. There are so many updates since the last public build so here are a few of the highlights:[/p]
  • [p]Super Supreme is in toy style[/p]
  • [p]The encounter screen, cartridges, and mods are all in toy style[/p]
  • [p]You can invite or join friends via Steam's friends list[/p]
  • [p]The tutorial is more effective and runs in co-op if any player hasn't done it yet[/p]
  • [p]A lot of information clarified in the encounter screen[/p]
  • [p]You can change the resolution speed!!![/p]
[p]If you signed up for the playtest emails, you'll get one on the 6th informing you the build is ready to download. Otherwise, just join us in Discord and tell us you're here for the playtest. We'll make sure you get what you need from there.[/p][p][/p][p]See ya in the chats,[/p][p][/p][p]Olivier from Big Adventure[/p]

Playtests are coming to Steam!

[p][/p][p][/p][p]Originally posted on 2025.09.19[/p][p]There's been a lot of neat stuff happening here at Big Adventure HQ! Among our regular bug fixes and incremental improvements, there are some bigger things coming up that we'd like to share.[/p][p][/p][p]
Above: Super Supreme has been revamped![/p][p][/p][p]We've done a complete overhaul of Super Supreme's design! The world-saving giant robot now has a more action-figure-y look, something we've been calling "toy style". The colours have also been adjusted to pop better, and show the idea of two different scientists teaming up.[/p][p][/p][p]Those who have played our previous playtests know that we've been slowly bringing the toy style to various areas of our game; the settings screen and the scientist selection screen, so far. Next on the list is the most important part of the game - the encounter screen! What do you think of the game going in this direction?
[/p][p][/p][p]Also, the next playtest will be on Steam! If you're keen to join, just head to the Steam page and click "Join the Playtest". Once the playtest starts, you'll be able to download and play it, no hassle.[/p][p]You can also invite up to 3 friends to the playtest. That way, you'll have no trouble finding a co-op partner to team up with!

We'll be there all throughout the conference, but if you don't have a ticket, you can still check out the Kiwi Games Zone on Saturday the 27th of September between 9:30am and 3:30pm. So if you're Wellington, come and say hi![/p][p]
[/p][p]That's all for now! See ya,[/p][p][/p][p]Big Adventure[/p]
