Our next anomaly game

Hey everyone!

I'm happy to announce that our next game, Kyoto Anomaly has been announced, and will be releasing soon, on May 26th.

Whilst both games have Anomaly in the title, there definitely are some differences. With Overtime Anomaly, we created a bunch of new mechanics, with the different category reporting, multiple days, and tasks. And whilst some of you may have enjoyed it, we also realized that a lot of people were very confused and wished for a more "traditional" anomaly/spot the difference style game.

So that's exactly what we've made.

You can expect a more traditional Exit 8 loop (go left/right depending on if there is an anomaly), whilst still expanding the game to create a new, fresh experience. We will have a wide variety of interesting anomalies, with 5 unique endings and adding some fresh mechanics.

If you've enjoyed Overtime Anomaly, or perhaps felt like it was a bit too overwhelming in places, then I can guarantee you'll enjoy this game. You can wishlist it today, with the full release on May 26th, priced at just $3.99.

Hotfix - 2025.05.11

A small hotfix to make the Undertime Anomaly achievement more achievable. You now have to complete a full workweek in under 20 minutes instead of 15 minutes.

Hotfix - 2025.04.22

Pushing a small hotfix out to fix the secret ending sequence as well as credits.
  • Secret ending sequence should now be the correct sequence.
  • Ambient audio transition bug should no longer occur.
  • Auto hide credits when transitioning between scenes.

We've received some feedback at HR about some employees wanting to adjust their work contracts in regards to wrongful termination lawsuits. Thus, from now on, the new company policy is for employees to choose their contract type, Normal or Hard. Depending on their contract type, wrongful termination will have different impacts. Contracts of type Normal will have the employees restart their overtime work on that day, while the contracts of type Hard are like the originals, resulting in the complete reset of an employee's work.

Changelog
  • When selecting New Game, the user now receives a pop up with difficulty selection
    - Normal: On death, the player gets reset to the start of the day
    - Hard: On death, the player loses all progress
  • Adjusted wall paint so that it all changes color at the same time
  • Fixed pesky teleportations resulting in an unfortunate void experience
  • Prevented teleportation into unexpected rooms and situations

Hotfix - 2025.04.01

Pushing a small hotfix out to fix a broken achievemnt, as reported by our dedicated overtime workers.

  • Fixed "Model Employee" being awarded instead of "Executive Officer" at the end of the week.
  • Added a simple endless mode that will be unlocked upon beating the game, it'll allow to consecutively keep playing day 6.
