Road Truckers: New Beginning News

Through the development the game has improved visually so far that we decided to completely replace the screenshots on Steam. All of them showcase the game in its current visuals. Our goal is to have the world dense and varied, with beautiful lighting. View the gallery on the game’s page to see all of them, here are just a couple of highlights.

[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We were also super happy to see TeleMenace’s overview of Road Truckers: New Beginning on his YouTube channel. [/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Finally, all the commotion about DLSS 5 is also a good opportunity to talk about our approach to optimization and the use of upscalers. [/p][p][/p][p]Long story short: we don’t have DLSS implemented yet. We will add DLSS, but only after we complete our optimization. Our goal is to have the game run well natively, and then add upscaling as an option to make it even smoother if you choose so. It’s a great technology, but we want to use it as a form of extra support and not a crutch. We’re putting a lot of effort into Road Truckers: New Beginning, and you will be able to test it before buying. Before that happens, stay in touch. So many features from our "to do" list are not ticked off - and it feels very satisfying.[/p][h2] August 2025 vs February 2026[/h2][p] Take a look at the same location, August 2025 vs February 2026. We’ve been building our world and we’re not done yet! We want to deliver a beautiful, epic & expansive experience. [/p][p][/p][h2]AI / Mirrors - rendering methods test[/h2][p]One of the key factors of the game feeling right are mirrors. We are testing a couple of rendering methods to find the one that looks best and also isn’t too heavy on your hardware. It’s likely we’ll simply give you a choice which to use. Each has its advantages (such as computing power use) and disadvantages (more or less detailed look). In the gif below, each cut shows a different rendering method. [/p][h2][/h2][p]At the same time, our world starts being more and more alive thanks to NPC car AI, which we’ve been improving and expanding. If you remember Alaskan Road Truckers, you’ll understand why AI has been very important to us in New Beginning. After we complete some things left to do, we'll show you how AI acts in different situations.[/p][p][/p][h2]Collectibles[/h2][p][/p][p]We now have various collectibles - notes, books etc. - which you can pick up to learn more about the world, and also get some extra XP. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Tutorials[/h2][p][/p][p]Road Truckers: New Beginning is a big and complex game, so it’s important that we ease you into our mechanics. We’ve been working on a tutorial and iterating it based on feedback. Since we have quests in this one, we use a couple of them to explain mechanics such as purchasing broken parts and repairing them before installing. [/p][p][/p][p] [/p][p]Also we’ve been adding more types of cargo, more NPCs, quests, jobs, locations… Well, we’re getting closer to being ready to let you try it yourselves.
