🚨 Raiders Rise Dev Update: New Features and More Art!

[p]We’re back with some exciting updates from the world of Raiders Rise. There’s a lot happening, so let’s dive right in!
[/p][h2]⚙️Meta[/h2][p]The Raiders Collection screen is up and accessible from the top menu bar! Here, you’ll be able to browse all available Raiders. Selecting one takes you to their Cosmetics screen, where future skins and visual customizations will appear in the grey placeholder boxes.[/p][p]The Progression tab will allow players to check out their skill tree and if you're curious about their backstory or abilities, the Raider Information button will take you straight to their character info screen.[/p][p]Everything’s functional, though much of it is still placeholder, we’re excited to keep working on it! [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]💥Core[/h2][p]We’ve made solid progress on the ultimates for River and Snowbird! [/p][p]River, who normally relies on his gun for basic attacks, now switches things up in his ultimate where he’ll use his blade for a powerful close-range strike.[/p][p]Snowbird’s passive skill is also in: he summons explosive clones that deal damage to monsters before detonating for extra impact. His ultimate creates a blue zone that slows enemies and gives himself an armor buff, making him much harder to take down.[/p][p]And exciting news: Nikky is officially in development! You’ll get a sneak peek at some of his early movesets below! [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]
[/p][h2]🧑‍🚀Characters [/h2][p]As always, the art side has been packed![/p][p]We’ve been exploring visual directions for our newest Raider, Blayze. [/p][p]Big thanks to everyone who voted in the Zantetsu poll, we’ve locked in his final look. [/p][p]Our concept artists have also been cooking up fresh skins for Maya, Jerar, and Kathy, giving familiar faces some brand-new flair.[/p][p]On the modeling front, both Sky and Atabusk’s models are now complete! Fun fact: the current in-game version of Atabusk will become a skin, while this new model will be his official base look going forward.[/p][p]Enemies are getting some love too, we’ve updated the Mortar and Big Bee with new visual variations to bring more personality to the battlefield.[/p][p]And over in animation, we’re wrapping up the final animations for Korin, Nikky, and River, with Sky’s rig now well underway.

🚨Raiders Rise Dev Update - Supercell Announcement & What’s New!

[p]We’re back with another exciting update and this one’s a big one. These past few weeks have been packed, both in and out of the game, and we’re thrilled to finally share what’s been going on.[/p][p]
[/p][h3]🎉 Supercell TimeOut Tournament[/h3][p]We were honored to be invited to Supercell’s annual TimeOut event, where we held a live Raiders Rise tournament in Helsinki![/p][p]It was an incredible experience to connect with fellow developers, exchange stories about the wild ride that is game development, and feel part of a community that truly understands the journey.[/p][p]And a personal highlight? Mike Morhaime - yes, The former CEO of Blizzard - played our game! 😱[/p][p]Huge thanks to the team at Supercell for the invite and for putting together such a fantastic event. We're still buzzing![/p][p][/p][p]But just because we hit this milestone doesn’t mean we’re slowing down - here’s what’s been cooking in development while the event was happening:[/p][p][/p][h3]💥Core [/h3]
  • [p]Snowbird & River are now in the testing phase, with ongoing balancing and visual implementation.[/p]
  • [p]The Wall and Maze levels are also now in testing - visuals are shaping up nicely.[/p]
  • [p]Our design team is hard at work drafting documentation for Characters 11 to 20! These are now in review and will be iterated on in the upcoming weeks.[/p]

  • [p]Finalized concept for Character 10: Sky[/p]
  • [p]First concept art drafts for Character 11: Zantetsu[/p]

  • [p]Modeling is now complete for Snowbird[/p]
  • [p]Big Bee enemy variants[/p]
  • [p]Animation progress for River and Nikky[/p]
  • [p]Ongoing animation iteration for Korin, we’re still trying to get a feel for this character’s movement.[/p]

🚨 Sprint 7 Update

[p]Hi everyone![/p][p]Welcome back to another Raiders Rise dev update - and a big thanks to all of you following our development journey. We’ve got a packed one this sprint, so let’s dive right in:[/p][p]
[/p][p]⚙️ Meta[/p]
  • [p]Top Menu Bar Rework - Now fully gamepad-ready for smoother navigation.[/p]
  • [p]Battle Pass & Missions - Work continues on these progression systems.[/p]
  • [p]Lobby, Friends & Matchmaking UX - We’ve been squashing bugs and making steady improvements to ensure everything feels intuitive and responsive.[/p]
[p][/p][p]💥 Core Gameplay[/p][p]Big steps forward with our next two playable characters: Snowbird and River![/p][p]Snowbird[/p]
  • [p]Basic - Snowbird basic attack is implemented and feels great![/p]
  • [p]Ultimate - His ultimate slows nearby enemies and grants a personal shield.[/p]
  • [p]Skill - Snowbird creates ice clones to confuse and distract enemies - perfect for sneaking past them! [/p]
[p]River[/p]
  • [p]Basic - Implemented, with a twist: his last bullet bounces around the level before reloading![/p]
  • [p]Ultimate - Placeholder implemented, when we do the final pass you’ll see he equips his sword when the ultimate is activated. [/p]
[p]Level Expansion[/p][p]Early versions of Level 1 for both Planet 2 and Planet 3 are now roughed out and ready for internal testing. The world is expanding![/p][p]
[/p][p]🧑‍🚀 Characters [/p][p]The character team has been hard at work this sprint:[/p]
  • [p]Snowbird and River - models are nearly complete and ready for integration.[/p]
  • [p]Korin - a melee-centric character, is getting special treatment with new workflow tests to support his unique combat style.[/p]
  • [p]Nikky - To speed things up without sacrificing quality, we’re transferring base animations from River to Nikky.[/p]
  • [p]River -  VFX moodboarding is underway, giving us a glimpse at the visual direction Alex is taking.[/p]
  • [p]Sky - our 10th character is in early concepting![/p]

[/p][p]🌍 Environment Art[/p]
  • [p]Wall & Maze Levels - The last two levels of planet 1 are almost ready for internal testing! [/p]
  • [p]Planet 1 Polishing - Level polish continues across the board, helping bring a more lived-in, reactive feel to each environment.[/p]
