Conquest: The next beta release is coming soon

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]We want to share some of the progress we are making for Vanguard Galaxy while we work towards the 0.8 update. We will highlight a few features that we are very excited about. These features will be released in a beta branch on Steam first. Just like we did for the previous big update, we found it to be a great way to push out updates quick and gather feedback from players.[/p][p]If all goes well, these new changes should be ready for us to share next week.[/p][p]What you see below is still work in progress and will be improved upon as we keep developing Vanguard Galaxy.[/p][p][/p][h3]Conquest[/h3][p]The next area of the map will be accessible and it looks very different from the previous ones.[/p][p][/p][p]The three big corporations, as well as some minor factions, each feature on this map as the battle for Canis Majoris heats up. You will be able to support the faction of your choice in order to supply it with reinforcements. These reinforcements are then used by that faction to fight over territory against the other factions present on the map.[/p][p]Depending on your conduct, this can now have negative impact on your reputation with other factions. But no worries, there are embassies available where you can always restore your reputation (just put ECHO to work as a diplomat).[/p][p]One of the smaller factions you can support will make sure you need those embassies for sure. :)[/p][p]In this area you can also level up to level 60 and acquire better loot.[/p][p][/p][h3]Bigger Ships[/h3][p]In this update you will be able to acquire the first large ship types (Destroyers!!). Each of the factions will eventually get one (or more), so you will run into them out in the world as well. These bigger ships of course require bigger modules and hardpoints. So the large variant of modules and turrets will become available.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]Mercenaries[/h3][p]As the requirements of your tasks grow, so does the need for companions in the field. You will be able to hire these Mercenaries to accompany you on your travels for a specific amount of time and cost.[/p][p][/p][h3]New Skills[/h3][p]With the new level cap also comes a new tier of skills for the existing skill trees. And you can of course acquire more skill points to spend on all these new possibilities. [/p][p][/p][p]And a few more things we want to mention that will be available when the beta release becomes available:[/p]
  • [p]To improve the speed for active play, docking at a space station will be performed in the background. You can start interacting with the space station interior immediately, without having to wait for the entire docking animation to play out.[/p]
  • [p]A new Jump Gate tech will be unlockable, through a side quest, to allow faster travel over bigger distances.[/p]
  • [p]Ships will now have a speed limit, which mainly affects WASD usage. Also the interaction of spaceships with the map borders has been modified so that you cannot use it to speed up the ship.[/p]
  • [p]Multiple fixes and performance improvements (full patch notes will be published later).[/p]

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]A few little fixes, news about what is in development will come later this week.[/p][p][/p][p]Added/Changed[/p][p]- Spaceship pictures have been moved to Armory from the Materials[/p][p]- Autosell of ores sells every rarity again[/p][p]- Requirements for Clearing the construction site mission reduced[/p][p][/p][p]Fixes[/p][p]- Fix for error when loading the game after dropping a Locator Beacon in an Industry Ops POI[/p][p][/p][p]Known Issue[/p][p]Currently dropping a Locator Beacon inside an active mission POI can cause issues. We'll fix this properly in the future, but beware for now. At least make a save before you do this. And let us know if you have examples where this caused issues for you. [/p][p][/p][p]Added/Changed[/p][p]- Autosell also checks for rarity of item to sell, standard and enhanced materials (white and green) can be sold. [/p][p][/p][p]Fixes[/p][p]- Another fix for Motherlode achievement[/p][p]- Fix for driller drones not releasing their spot on an asteroid when they blow up, causing driller drones to sit idle with targets still available[/p][p]- Fix for Salvage status window not showing the correct item after completing one[/p][p][/p][p]And as always, if you find any annoying / interesting bugs or just want to give your opinion. Update 0.7.5.7

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]We hope you are all ready for some more changes and bugfixes. [/p][p]And we know you are all craving the bigger updates with bigger ships, a new area to fly around in and a higher level cap. We're hard at work to bring these to you in a future update. More info to come in a specific news article highlighting some of the new features soon. [/p][p][/p][p]Added/Changed[/p][p]- Scaling of the UI can go higher now, when the width of the UI elements would exceed the current default of 1200 pixels the space station UI will now show up above the sidepanel. Steamdeck UI will be bigger by default.[/p][p]- The workshop is a draggable and scalable window now and remembers where it was last located. It will also pop back into the screen whenever it would spawn outside of it. [/p][p]- Asteroids will support multiple core drones when the asteroid is big enough (small is 1, but above will be 2 or more)[/p][p]- Added the option to permanently remove (non-critical) crew members whilst docked[/p][p]- Bounty and patrol missions have a chance to spawn with asteroids and/or salvage wrecks[/p][p]- Ore and salvage missions now show whether objectives are on the surface or within the core/structure[/p][p]- Added a button to close the lootbox window[/p][p]- Added a small black background to item quantity in shop/inventory cells to increase readability[/p][p]- Changed the names of some salvage items (removed the Surface part)[/p][p][/p][p]Balance[/p][p]- Ship: Fanatic cargo capacity changed from 900 to 650[/p][p][/p][p]Fixes[/p][p]- Improved HP bar positioning[/p][p]- Shield and armor values shown correctly in Shipyards[/p][p]- Changing the name of your ship on Steamdeck properly shows input[/p][p]- Fix for ship becoming unresponsive when using hold position to cancel travel while/after using a jumpgate[/p][p]- Fixed an issue where shop data refreshed while the shop UI remained open, causing a mismatch.
