The Future of Unreal Zombies

[p]Hi everyone. It's been awhile since we've last updated Unreal Zombies. We would like to say a few things as to why it's taking so long to release an update.[/p][p][/p][h2]What's happening?[/h2][p]Over 2 months ago, we release the Survival Revamp update. We were hoping to shift our focus entirely on Act II for the game, but... we got distracted![/p][p][/p][p]We've also been dealing with burnout recently because of the amount of things we've been doing. We do apologies for the radio silence.[/p][p][/p][h2]What's next?[/h2][p]We originally planned to only focus on getting Act II done before we do other things with the game. However, because of how long we are taking to release a single update, we want to go even further and go for v1.0.[/p][p][/p][h2]What will be in v1.0?[/h2][p]Here are a list of what will be included in the full game release:[/p]

  • [p]More Survival Maps[/p]
  • [p]Dev commentary[/p]
  • [p]Encore levels[/p]
  • [p]Level editor (might release after v1.0)[/p]
[p][/p][p]and last, but not least... Multiplayer.[/p][p][/p][p]That's all we have to say for now. Once we have something to show, we'll upload a small devlog to CatgirlLydia's YouTube channel. Unreal Zombies - Update

[p]An update has been released for Unreal Zombies.[/p][p]
-Adjusted some areas in Survival mode[/p][p]-Fixed some exploits in Survival mode[/p][p]-Fixed where you can softlock yourself in the forest arena in Survival mode[/p][p]-Adjusted some spawn points from the "Flame-Like" Arena in Survival mode to prevent some zombies from spawn inside the terrain[/p][p]-Added some invisible walls in some areas to prevent softlocks in Survival mode[/p][p]-You now must wait a few seconds after death in order to restart in Survival mode[/p]

Unreal Zombies - Update

[p]An update has been released for Unreal Zombies.[/p][p][/p][p]-Changed the copyright year from 2025 to 2026.[/p][p]-Fixed an issue where gas fuels weren't being highlighted.[/p][p]-Fixed an issue in House of the Dead where the combat theme would still play after you've completed the final sequence.[/p][p]-Removed the remaining music in Backyard Battleground that belongs to Hassei No Mori.[/p][p]-Fixed a bug in The Maze where the music would repeat every time a new zombie wave occur.[/p][p]-Adjusted the cave arena zombie spawn rates in Survival mode to prevent softlocks from happening.[/p][p]-Fixed an issue in Survival mode's cave arena where zombies would get stuck at certain areas.[/p]

The Survival Revamp Update

[h3]It's time. After so many failed attempts on fixing a lot of issues this game mode brought, the Survival game mode revamp is finally here![/h3][p][/p][h3]What is Survival?! [/h3][p]It's a round based game mode where you survive as long as you can by going to high rounds.[/p][p][/p][h3]You also get to go into different arenas every round, and get to choose which perk you desire the most... and upgrade them too![/h3][p][/p][h3]Oh yeah! You get to upgrade your perks up to 3 tiers![/h3][p]This feature is not only in Survival mode, but it's also in the main campaign mode! Go nuts, have fun![/p][p][/p][h3]We also revamped most of the game too, so there's that! :3[/h3][p][/p][h3]Additions:[/h3]

  • [p]Added new music in all of the main levels[/p]
  • [p]Added new HUD[/p]
  • [p]Added new death sequence[/p]
  • [p]Added new blood particles[/p]
  • [p]Added new hint text in Hassei No Mori for those who are speedrunning the game and go a specific part of the map[/p]
  • [p]Added a new achievement[/p]

  • [p]Revamped House of the Dead[/p]
  • [p]Revamped the perk models[/p]
  • [p]Revamped the medkit models[/p]
  • [p]Revamped the gas models[/p]
  • [p]Revamped the ammo box[/p]

  • [p]Reduced how difficult Unreal difficulty was[/p]
  • [p]Changed how final sequences works in almost all levels[/p]
  • [p]Almost all levels now have a baked lighting system that greatly improves performance (I hope)[/p]
  • [p]House of the Dead's final sequence now locks certain areas[/p]
  • [p]Bullets are now affective with physics objects[/p]
  • [p]House of the Dead's gas fuel objective length now depends on difficulty[/p]

  • [p]Changed the executable name of the game from "TheUnrealStory" to "UnrealZombies" (Note, that because of this change, a lot of save files won't be transferred into a new folder. We'll have a segment in the next devlog video on how you can transfer save files from the old folder, into the new folder. So stay tuned for that!)[/p]
[h3]Bug fixes:[/h3]
  • [p]Fixed where most cutscenes don't pause when the game is paused[/p]
  • [p]Fixed where Tonk can get stuck in some areas in Hassei No Mori[/p]
[h3]What's next:[/h3][p]Now that we finally release the Survival game mode revamp, we can finally focus on the next chapter for Unreal Zombies, ACT II. We might release more survival maps in the future. But for now, enjoy the fully fledge survival game mode![/p]
