Bug fixes and Plans!

[p]Hello, dear adventurers :)[/p][p]I've fixed several bugs, and one very important one:[/p]
  • [p]Some players managed to complete the Purple King quest much earlier than expected. It's surprising, since it usually takes days or weeks! However, due to a bug, they didn't receive the achievement… I'm very sorry. It's now fixed: on your next playthrough, the game will check your progress and award you the achievements “Heroes of Subterranea” and “Defeating the Aberration.”[/p]
  • [p]Are you in Arcanopolis or nearby? You can now travel to Verdant Grotto, as I’ve opened a new path. Check the map—it contains visual hints about which places are connected (paths or portals similar to others — hint: look at Subterranea’s portals).[/p]
  • [p]Music no longer stops, the door illustration has been improved, and the “Cancel” button in the grimoire is now named “Exit,” for clarity.[/p]
[p]What am I working on now?[/p]
  • [p]More chapters for the main quest and other essential ones[/p]
  • [p]A random quest system to keep the action going[/p]
  • [p]Backstory chapters to better understand the protagonists and their connection[/p]
  • [p]When the Purple King quest ends, you’ll see that our heroes are no longer just companions, but friends. And in future quests, they could become lovers or something more. They may need a home, so start saving—I'd love to add housing options too.[/p]
  • [p]Chapters set in inns and town locations will add new possibilities and encounters.[/p]
[p]On the blog, I’m writing a post about Sioul and the magic casters in the universe. I already published one about Tamzyn and her personality. Now it's Sioul’s turn. Feel free to read it if you'd like.[/p][p]In a few days, a Maps DLC will be released. It’s not required to play—just for those who want a large printable map to study outside of the game.[/p][p]This DLC also serves as dev support. If you buy it, you help fund hardware, software, educational materials… or simply show your appreciation. It’s offered at a low price, and you don’t need to purchase it: the game is and will remain free. Just by playing, you're already giving me great support—thank you so much! 1.2 Update: quest of the Purple King!

[p]EXCITING NEWS! ːsteamhappyː[/p][p]A huge THANK YOU, brave adventurers, for playing Caverns and Dryads and for turning this world of my creation into something alive and truly yours![/p][p]You can now update the game to version 1.2. This version brings life to the Caverns and Dryads:[/p]
  • [p]First quest: The Purple King! Heralds of the Purple King will look for you as soon as you finish the place you are now, and will require you to visit his court for a quest![/p]
  • [p]You will face a mission to save the city of Subterranea and the whole Chasm![/p]
  • [p]Defeat a very big boss monster! Be careful, keep your potions, prepare to use blade and spells against a monster that can smash an entire army![/p]
  • [p]We will dive deep into Tamzyn's mind: how she feels, what thoughts put her in a dilemma between her heart and the distance that eternal youth puts to her feelings.[/p]
  • [p]Decide in the story parts: what you decide will mean bigger or lesser rewards. Make the best decisions, and the relationship between the heroes will grow. By the end of this, they may progress from partners to friends.[/p]
  • [p]Get two amazing weapons and a great armor to face the big boss monster, once you visit Urvhal the Purple King.[/p]
  • [p]Get a lot of money if you succeed in the quest. Maybe you can buy a house in the near future with it! ;)[/p]
[p]We now have a working story engine with all of this inside story parts: music, sound effects, loot, combat...[/p][p][/p][p]From now on, I will be able to add lots of stories: in bars, between places, at the inn... I plan to add a lot for background, for diversity in cities and sanctuaries, conversations between our heroes... And there's also now a quest engine, so I can expand the game with more secondary and main stories and quests for our heroes! ːsteamhappyː[/p][p][/p][p]PS: Please provide me with feedback about the difficulty of the quest. It should be not impossible or too hard, but also not easy. It’s okay if you get killed by the boss monster, but not if it kills you every time.   • [p]Fade-in effect on monster screens. Bosses have additional effects too.[/p]
  • [p]There are currently 3 types of chapters: main plot (ordered, main quest), core (secondary plot, ordered, secondary quest), and random (unordered, secondary quests). I still have to implement the third type and how and where it appears so it doesn’t conflict with core ones. Maybe I’ll add ternary quests.[/p]
  • [p]Sioul has become hairy because of plot requirements.[/p]
  • [p]Some dryads have had their images changed or retouched to avoid misunderstandings.[/p]

  • [p]Exits from Stone Hell to Stairs of Despair were broken. Fixed those and other nearby blocked exits.[/p]

It's almost ready!

The programming and story parts are ready, so now I'm going to give it all a test and hopefully I can make the update public this week![/p][p]This has been quite difficult but now I have a solid engine for adding a lot of content. Once I publish this, I will add a lot of situations to give the game a lot more of background and fun![/p][p]The pic is a part of one of the images of the new story. Yes, she is crying. But don't worry too much, I think you will enjoy the depth added and the story has a good ending, actually.[/p][p]Well, in the case you manage to defeat the very big monster... What I'm working on and progress

[p]Hi adventurers! :)[/p][p]I've been working hard all the week and the weekend on the game. This is a post to let you know what is being done and how is it going. No public release yet for you, because I still have work to do.[/p][p][/p][p]Basically I had to do a lot of coding to make all the features in chapters work seamlessly. But now:

  • [p] You will be able to fight a BOSS MONSTER.[/p]
  • [p]You will find secondary quests and chapters that play upon some events or places.[/p]
  • [p]I will be able to add lots of content after this, in the shape of one-time and replayable quests[/p]
  • [p]New weapons will appear in these chapters, and a new armor.[/p]
  • [p]Characters develop a bit more, both on the story and game.[/p]
  • [p]You will be able to raise stats in the chapters added.[/p]
  • [p]You can find and equip weapons and armor in loot of chapters. For example, in this one you can get some useful stuff that the Purple King will give you to embark in your quest.[/p]
  • [p]Special sound effects will play at some points of the chapters.[/p]
[p]And why is it not yet ready? Because I am now working on the artistic part: images and story writing. As soon as I finish it, I'll test a while, and then make the update. It may take me this week or maybe a little more. [/p][p]But just wanted to tell you that I'm working on it! [p]Hi adventurers! :) I am still working on the main quest chapters of the game, but they may take a long time. So I am adding a shorter quest in this moment, a secondary one, but with many ingredients that you will love![/p][p]This will allow me to finish something you can play soon, and try things.[/p][p]This story will be your first mission for our heroes, and the Purple King is the one who contacts them for it. He's the King of Subterranea, the city of the Magic Council. [/p][p]Through this quest, your heroes will get a lot of money, some items, and spells. It also will allow me to test the features added to the engine like:[/p]
  • [p]Battle with boss monsters![/p]
  • [p]Loot in the middle of a chapter (your heroes find objects or a treasure).[/p]
  • [p]Different rewards depending on what you choose on the interactive chapters of the stories.[/p]
  • [p]Development of the relationship stats of the heroes.[/p]
  • [p]Branching the story if you don't succeed, in a way that it lets you try again but without breaking the story.[/p]
[p]In addition, it also will contain things that you will love like:[/p]
  • [p]Some fun moments.[/p]
  • [p]More insight in the personality of Sioul and Tamzyn and what they feel for each other, slowly growing into something more than a collaboration. You will be able to make them grow to more than just companions of adventure.[/p]

[p]In this story you will delve into one of the most dangerous places of the Chasm, and battle against a powerful huge monster.
