Lategame Weapon Improvements, Save Corruption Fix, and More!

[p]Hi everyone![/p][p]Today we have another huge update! It has multiple performance improvements for players who've already entered the lategame, but there's also a big fix for the save corruption that some few users have been experiencing. It's the first bullet point below so make sure to follow those instructions if you've experienced this issue![/p][p]Also, if you're enjoying the game, I would REALLY appreciate it if you reviewed it.   • [p]Fixed bug that caused some players to have corrupted saves. To fix your save, go into C:\\Users\\YOURUSER\\AppData\\LocalLow\\Conradical Games\\Desktop Defender, where "YOURUSER" is your PC's username. Then, delete settings.sav. After this, your save should work![/p]
  • [p]Added 5 backup files to the game save data and to the settings data to prevent file corruptions from resulting in save data loss in the future[/p]
  • [p]Majorly improved VFX performance through adjusting the pooling system[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted the variables of the "Ball" weapon to improve performance in the lategame by doing the following:[/p]
    • [p]Reducing max pierces from infinite to 4[/p]
    • [p]Decreasing projectile lifetime to 0.5 seconds[/p]
    • [p]Increasing projectile speed by 50%[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted the variables of the "Orbit" weapon to improve performance by doing the following:[/p]
    • [p]Increased projectile speed by 33%[/p]
    • [p]Decreased projectile lifetime by 43%[/p]
    • [p]Increased damage by 48%[/p]
    • [p]Decreased damage by 33%[/p]
    • [p]Decreased maximum pierces by 50%[/p]
  • [p]Improved game performance when projectiles on screen surpass 500[/p]
  • [p]Fixed bug that caused the settings screen to show some settings incorrectly until you toggled them on and off[/p]
  • [p]Increased total amount of files and file size the Steam cloud saves support[/p]

HUGE Performance Improvement + More!

[p]Hi everyone![/p][p]I'm happy to announce that we have a HUGE update today! It has a bunch of things, but the main thing is that it majorly improves performance.[/p][p]Namely, for laptop players that haven't reached the endgame yet, some players on the Discord reported a 3x performance boost![/p][p]In the endgame, if you have a crazy number of bullets spawning, performance is still taking a hit for some players, but I'm prioritising fixing that for the next update, so I hope to have a fix for you all soon![/p][p]Also, if you're enjoying the game, I would REALLY appreciate it if you reviewed it.   • [p]Massively improved performance. On low-end PCs, you can expect a massive boost in the later waves. On my own PC (RTX 3070 Ti and 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700k 3.60GHz) it brings late game waves from 100fps up to 300fps.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed bug that caused the Explosion weapon to be useless against bosses[/p]
  • [p]Fixed bug that caused some weapons to miss if you had increased how many projectiles you shoot (e.g. Radius, Shotgun, Cogs, etc.)[/p]
  • [p]Made the Rebirth bonus multiplicative instead of additive[/p]
  • [p]Buffed Flamethrower by increasing its damage by 100%, and decreasing its base aim cone from 60° to 45°[/p]
  • [p]Buffed Electromagnetism by increasing its damage by 100%, and decreasing its base aim cone from 60° to 45°[/p]
  • [p]Made Orbit deal more 35% more damage, but now has a maximum number of 10 enemies it can pierce through. This keeps power roughly equal, but greatly improves performance due to lingering projectiles[/p]
  • [p]Buffed Shuriken by increasing its damage by 67%[/p]

Today's SECOND Update! - Mass Buy Upgrades, Burst Mode Explanation, and More!

  • [p]Added a description to the "Burst Mode" setting to explain what it does more clearly[/p]
  • [p]Added a description at the top of the upgrade menu that tells you that you can press and hold "Shift" to buy multiple upgrades at once[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused the game to crash if the amount of XP needed to level up went beyond the integer limit[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused some players to still not be able to obtain the achievement for purchasing all weapons[/p]
  • [p]Added a trackable stat for the Rebirth XP Multiplier[/p]
  • [p]Added a trackable stat for the Rebirth Money Multiplier[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused you to not go down to wave 1 after ascending if you beat the wave right as you ascend[/p]
