Thunder Tier One: Free Access and Compensation Details

Hello, Operators!
First and foremost, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all players who have supported and enjoyed Thunder Tier One. From the beginning, we have deeply appreciated the trust players placed in us when purchasing the game. Over time, however, various factors led to difficult decisions regarding its future. While we understand that some of these decisions may have caused concern, we want to be fully transparent about the reasoning behind them and provide accurate information about what lies ahead.

Current Status
On October 17, 2023, we announced the shutdown of Thunder Tier One's multiplayer servers, following the game’s last patch on August 22, 2022. This decision was regrettably unavoidable primarily due to the game’s overall development direction, a declining player base, and the challenges of maintaining the servers. While this decision was made after thorough discussions, we acknowledge that it was communicated unilaterally and without sufficient explanation. We deeply regret any disappointment this may have caused and want to assure you that it was not made lightly. Thunder Tier One has always been a passion project for us and remains very close to our hearts.

Thunder Tier One Now Free for Everyone
To ensure that existing players can continue playing Thunder Tier One with their friends while also allowing new players to experience it, we have decided to make the game free for everyone. However, this change does not mean additional updates or new content will be developed. Thunder Tier One will remain in its completed state, and no further development is planned at this time.

Free Transition Date: May 12, 2025

Compensation Details
To ensure fairness for those who previously purchased the game, we have worked with our publisher to provide a refund option. As of the transition date, all past purchasers of Thunder Tier One will be eligible to request a refund through Steam Support. Refund will be available regardless of purchase date or playtime, ensuring that all affected players have the opportunity to receive compensation. Further details on the refund process will be provided soon.

Once again, we extend our sincere appreciation to all of our players for their unwavering support and for being part of this journey. We hope you have enjoyed—and will continue to enjoy—Thunder Tier One as much as we did while developing it. We also apologize for any inconvenience and imperfect communication on our part.

Sincerely,
The Thunder Tier One Development Team

Closure of all Dedicated Multiplayer Servers

It’s been nearly two years since Thunder Tier One launched in December 2021. Our team greatly thank the players for being with us throughout the journey. We have been keeping an eye on the players' game sessions and saw that the vast majority of them are either in single-player or in self-hosted games, with our dedicated servers seeing little usage. For that reason, we have decided to close all the dedicated multiplayer servers for Thunder Tier One starting from November 14th, 2023 10:00 AM CET.

Players will still be able to enjoy multiplayer sessions by creating custom games or by hosting their own dedicated servers. Guide on hosting your own server can be found here.

We would like to again thank our players for their continued love and support for Thunder Tier One.

Patch 1.4.0 Notes - New Content, Fixes and Improvements

It's been quite a journey for Thunder Tier One. It all started as a passion project among friends and grew into a full game created by an independent team and published with the help of KRAFTON. We really enjoyed developing the game together with our community. Your feedback during the beta phase and after the launch has been invaluable. It has helped us to produce a title that you could all embrace and build on using the modding tools – creating new game modes, missions, and even entire campaigns.

Thunder Tier One was always planned as a small, standalone title and we are happy with where the game is right now in terms of its development. As such, this will be the last content update for Thunder. We do hope you enjoy the new weapons, gear, and cosmetics we've added – as well as the much-anticipated camera manager modding ability.

We would like to thank our community once again for all the love and support you showed us along the way! You're the best!

Thunder out!
