Hey Mercenaries,

Please find below the latest Alpha Patch Notes.

Gameplay / Mechanics
  • Targeting markers now appear on objectives such as the reactors, enabling them to be locked on.
  • The health of the Lethe base and Atlas reactors have been increased to extend the length of matches.


Multiplayer
  • When a contract is launched, it will now not start until the host clicks the Launch button, or the match meets the maximum number of participants.
  • When selecting a contract, host can now limit the number of maximum participants.
  • The current player maximum has temporarily been set to four for stability until the module system improvements are complete.


User Interface
  • Implemented a preview of the new Input system and related menu in Settings. Keep in mind that this system is very much under active development and currently does not function correctly.
  • The in-cockpit Multi-Function Display behavior has been improved to be more responsive
  • Joystick inputs have had a cap put on the axes to better reflect user input.


Known Issues
  • Clicking the “X” in the Inputs settings will delete that input from your list. Delete the /Starfighter/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor/Input.ini file to restore defaults if this occurs.
  • Missile targeting icons do not always appear.

  • Corrected an issue wherein a player would be unable to close the Settings menu if they are a client during a match.

Hey Mercenaries,

We are excited to announce the first patch of the Alpha. We love all the feedback we have been getting and want to use it to make chances that improve the game so that you guys all enjoy it as much as we do. We tackled just a few things in this patch while we look to improve and implement the rest of the core of the game. There are many more fixes and tweaks on their way, but at least you won't bounce off of solid objects when flying at high speeds.

Gameplay / Mechanics
  • Impact Damage
    Impact and collision damage have been reworked; they should now properly take kinetic energy into consideration. Collisions when reversing should also be improved. Mass/ratio logic should be improved and minimum collision velocity to deal damage to vehicles has been raised to 10 m/s.
  • Flip and Burn
    Updated logic for each ship's "flip and burn" maneuver, it should only fire main engines when ship's forward vector is less than 45 degrees from retrograde vector. The Pegasus and Hyperion ships should now flip and burn reliably.
  • Matches should properly end when all players on one team are killed and/or their ship is destroyed


Multiplayer
  • Contracts that players are unable to join should no longer appear in the Contract Portal


User Interface
  • The post-match scoreboard should now appear correctly
  • EMP status of your target is now displayed on your HUD
  • The Multi-function Display should more reliably display module status
  • The Drone Camera interface should no longer block mouse input
  • Improved graphics information and audio slider sizes in Settings


Audio
  • Increased volume of voice over audio during the tutorial mission, it should now be easily heard over ship sound effects
