[h2]August / September 2021 Art Contest![/h2]
We're running another art contest this month!

Try your hand at creating Tower Unite related art, paintings, pixel art, and more!

All participants may be awarded participation prizes, with the winner netting 1,000,000 units!

[h2]Accessibility Suggestions[/h2]
We've created a forum post asking the community for suggestions on how we can improve gameplay for players with certain conditions such as colorblindness, dyslexia, or anything else that might affect a players ability to use the standard presentation and controls of the game.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, and possible solutions on how to solve a particular issue, please check out the forum post here.

[h2]Next Dev Log[/h2]
The next Dev Log will be on September 20th, 2021.

[h2]Update 0.14.4.0[/h2]
Work continues on the next update to Tower Unite, Update 0.14.4.0, which will introduce the Private Theaters, rentable private screens for you and your friends complete with a bar!

This update will also include the new Lazer Tag arena, as well as Track 2 to the Accelerate map, "Sunrise Isles".

In addition, this update will include several quality of life changes and bug fixes.

Johanna worked on finishing any work needed for the completion of the next update. She worked on fixing issues with the new water system, and also continued working on the Shooting Gallery ride.

JJosh continued working on more arcade plushies and NPCs.

Lifeless continued working on a new map for Little Crusaders.

macdguy continued working on getting Update 0.14.4.0 ready for release.

Madmijk worked on optimizing the Laser Projector item.

Sketchman continued working on improvements and optimizations. He worked on getting rotation working for multiple item Gizmo, as well as working on fixing issues with the Voice Chat system.

Wheezwer continued working on posters for the Shooting Gallery ride, as well as working on dialogue for the Private Theatres NPC.

Last week, we released a hotfix to fix some issues with the previous update.

macdguy continued working on finishing Private Theatres. He completed the booking system, the theatre system, the bar, along with other features.

Johanna continued working on the Shooting Gallery ride.

JJosh worked on new prizes and plushes for the Arcade, as well as updated NPCs for the Bowling Alley.

Wheezwer continued working on Murals and Wanted Posters for the Shooting Gallery ride.

Will continued working on music and sounds for the Arcade.

[h2]Condo[/h2]
macdguy added drifting and ramp support to vehicles, made the platform in Smooth Dirt toggle-able, and added a new "Placeable Dynamic Light Shadow" feature. He also continued working on Condo I/O, this week working on push and trigger volumes.

madmijk worked on optimizing the code for the Laser Projector item.

Sketchman worked on various tweaks and improvements to the Gizmo system, and also made improvements to the High Rise condo.

[h3]Placeable Dynamic Light Shadows[/h3]

This new feature adds a new setting to the settings menu to allow placeable lights to cast shadows. This feature can be extremely expensive, but can improve lighting in the condo and help condo builders convey their intended design.

[h3]Improved Condo Gizmos[/h3]

The Gizmos will now keep a steady size on the screen, regardless how close or far away the player is. Players can now also translate, rotate, and scale multiple items at once!

Hot Fix 0.14.3.2

This update addresses several bugs from the new update.

Changes
  • RC and vehicle cameras no longer follow directly behind the vehicle and also handle hills a lot better, like Accelerate does
  • RC and ground based vehicles now have drifting! Just press shift to drift while turning
Bug Fixes
  • Virus - Hospital: Fixed stairs collision
  • Arcade: Completely reworked Coloracle's networking
  • Arcade: Fixed a race condition with Candy Slam sometimes causing erroneous point deductions
  • Arcade: Fixed Coloracle "Pink Season" achievements not firing off
  • Arcade: Fixed the Dragon's Treasure and Meteoroid Mania bonus wheels sometimes landing on the wrong item
  • Arcade - Salmon Says: Fixed the blue button not lighting up properly
  • Arcade - Starfield Lanes: Fixed the score labels being hard to read
  • Arcade - Starfield Lanes: Fixed score LED not having enough digits to show the entire score
  • Arcade: Fixed Coin River/Dragon's Treasure not respawning special items (gold buckets, gold bars, treasure chests, gems)
  • Arcade: Fixed Planetary Piano not setting the seat in the correct position the first time after changing between 4-key (left) and 8-key (middle) play styles
  • Arcade: Increased coin collect timer to ensure more coins can be collected when the timer is just about to end
  • Fixed Workshop condo canvas data not loading in for clients
  • Condo - Highrise: Improved floor molding models
  • Condo - Highrise: Rebalanced some light map uv sizes
  • Condo - Highrise: Improved living room staircase model (doesn't abruptly jut)
  • Condo - Highrise: Replaced remaining purple floor molding
  • Condo - Highrise: Made the band of purple edging of the big room's balcony customizable
  • Condo - Highrise: Fixed issues with the big room balcony supports' model (gaps) and replaced the low-res texture with a wood material
  • Condo - Highrise: Replaced the common wood material with a world space version to remove stretched textures
  • Condo - Highrise: Fixed a small gap left by a wall being slightly off-center
  • Condo - Highrise: Merged the upper and lower portions of the living room wall nook to fix a lighting issue, and made the inside corner a separate model for better customization
  • Condo - Highrise: Nudged the pillar in the big room so the supports don't awkwardly clip through the side of it
  • Condo - Highrise: Made the railing sections in the big room an instanced mesh (performance)
  • Condo - Highrise: Updated the default textures of the pillars and supports in the big room
  • Condo - Highrise: Made the beams of the big room support line up with the pillars
  • Condo - Highrise: Made bedroom windows an instanced mesh (performance)
  • Condo - Highrise: Cleaned up map (removed some empty actors, fixed a negative scale issue, disabled shadows on large actors like the water plane that don't need it)

macdguy worked on getting Arcade: Phase 2 released, and worked on releasing the hotfixes. He re-wrote the logic for "Coloracle 2: Whose Hue?" to reduce issues on crowded servers.
