Patch Notes - 04.06.2020

  • The ranked season has been reset. The next season reset is scheduled for the 2nd of July.
  • Added more detection methods to our Anticheat solution.
  • Improved our report reviewing tools.
  • Players that participated in our beta tests have received the unique beta testing emblem.
  • [FIXED] Some players are unable to purchase Yeti skins with GM Credits.


[h3]Developer API[/h3]
We've noticed a growing developer community for Deceit, this has brought along an interest in a web API to query game information. Today, we're exposing a few experimental API endpoints for our developer community to use, these are experimental APIs with no guarantee of availability and may be subject to change without notice. We plan to introduce a more full-featured API with documentation in the future subject to a major overhaul of our backend infrastructure.

Several new cosmetics have been added to the store to be purchased with GM credits, or won as rewards in the loot booth. Including...

[h3]General[/h3]
  • Added Dutch to the selection of languages available in Deceit. A collection of our other supported languages have also received some updates. Many thanks to our Community Translators for helping with these languages.
  • The vent selection interface now shows the names of the rooms that each of the vents lead into.
  • Players are now able to choose between +1, +10 and +100 reputation when sending it to friends through their profiles.
  • Resolved an exploit that allowed players to give themselves, or other players, any item at any point in time.
  • Optimised the client's networking by reducing the number of network messages it sends.
  • Improved our back-end report reviewing tools.


[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • [FIXED] The displayed win rate in a player's match history is incorrect when first viewing it.
  • [FIXED] Quickly skipping through the challenge progression screen after a game can result in multiple challenge progression sounds being queued up, despite the interface being closed.
  • [FIXED] Leaving the game as the last innocent alive causes the game to not count for you. This manifests in players not receiving XP or having their Rank/ELO affected.
  • [FIXED] Reports sent during a game aren't received if the offending player has already disconnected.


[h3]Engine & Performance Update - BETA[/h3]Over the past few weeks we've been beta testing our game engine update with our community in Discord. Updating our game engine brings several benefits including improved performance, DX12 and better development tools for us. These tests have been invaluable in getting us closer to the finish line and we couldn't do it without you, the community. As a thank you, everyone who has participated in our beta tests so far will find a new emblem on their account. We'll be running more beta tests in the near future, to get involved keep an eye on #game-announcements in our Discord!

Patch Notes - 30.04.2020

[h3]General[/h3]
  • The Easter Store is now officially closed. Any left over Easter tokens, as well as tokens from Halloween & Christmas '19, have been automatically converted to normal Loot Booth tokens.
  • All of the areas within the maps have been given names to help with describing your location. When playing you will notice the area name at the top left of your HUD.
  • The ranked season has been reset. Those of you who at least reached the ELO ranking system will find some brand new crowns ready to be equipped.
  • Several of our in-game translations have been updated, thanks to our community translators.


[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • [FIXED] A couple of item spawns in the Forest map are unable to be interacted with.
  • [FIXED] In several maps, some objects load in too late when entering new areas (e.g. the hedges in the Mansion).
  • [FIXED] Emblems earned through playing ranked aren't kept after a season reset. (Note: this fix will only apply for emblems earned in the new season and onwards)
  • [FIXED] When spawning in the Forest it's possible for some objects to not initially load in.

Patch Notes - 23.04.2020

[h3]End Of The Easter Event[/h3]With this update comes the end of the Easter event, thank you to everyone who participated over the past few weeks. Whilst the event has ended, the Easter Shop itself will remain open for business until next Thursday, the 30th of April. During this period players will still be able to use their Easter Tokens and complete their Event Pass challenges to collect some final Easter Points. For those that have some Easter Points left over you will find a new product within the Store that will allow you to convert all of your remaining points for GM Credits. As a quick reminder, after next Thursday all tokens from this event, and previous ones, will be automatically converted to standard tokens.

[h3](Coming Soon!) Engine & Performance Update[/h3]Over the last few months we have been working on a massive optimisation and performance update. This includes updating to the very latest CryEngine with 3 years of improvements! We have started beta testing on Discord this week, and are hoping to bring this to release early next month! This update also includes DX12 support.

[h3]Community Moderator Ban Access[/h3]Over the past week we've been working with our moderation team in order to improve our process of reviewing and handling in-game bans. As a result, starting today, we've implemented the ability for our Senior Moderators to process and review reports against players.

[h3]Ranked Season Reset[/h3]Along with our update next Thursday we will also be resetting the ranked season. The end of this season will mark the start of our new ranked reward set, crowns. For those that missed our previous announcement, crowns are ranked rewards that can only be worn by those that climbed high up the ladder in the preceding season. Every time the season is reset these crowns will be reallocated, removing them from players who failed to reattain their rank. The crowns and their requirements are as follows:
  • Bronze Crown - Reach the ELO ranking system
  • Silver Crown - Be ranked as a top 100 player
  • Gold Crown - Be ranked as a top 10 player

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • [FIXED] After buying a new cosmetic for a character that isn't your preferred one you are unable to select cosmetics for that character.
  • [FIXED] The "Loot Booth" button on the Main Menu incorrectly shows a gold dot after the recent changes to tokens.
  • [FIXED] The currency text in the store isn't properly updated after purchasing a product when using lower resolutions.

Patch Notes - 16.04.2020

[h3]General[/h3]
  • Resolved an issue in our backend server that caused its performance to degrade over time.
  • After receiving feedback from the community we've re-added the ability to view player level/rank information from within the 'Q' menu in-game.
  • The amount of Easter & Stash Points earned from using Easter Tokens is now displayed when collecting your rewards.
  • Added a per-game unique identifier to the bottom right of the in-game HUD. The intention of this is to help us improve how we review player reports and subsequently identify offending players.
  • Updated all of our Chinese translations and improved several of our other translations, thanks to our community translators.


[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • [FIXED] The discounted value for the 'Foil Bunny' displays incorrectly.
  • [FIXED] Players are able to use the knife to determine if a player is infected.
  • [FIXED] Occasionally players meeting the requirements are unable to queue up for ranked when first opening the client.
