2020 Summer Event

It's Summer time! When you next open the game you'll be greeted with a new interface to help you track your progress throughout the Summer event.

Summer Rewards
First things first, the loot. This event there's 35 blisteringly hot new rewards to get your hands on, just be careful that you don’t burn yourself. Some of these rewards can be earned through our free Summer Getaway Story, and all of the rewards can be earned directly through the Loot Booth when using Summer Tokens (now available in the store). Grab as many rewards while you can, and if you're lucky enough to get everything there's even a special emblem waiting for you. There are three free Summer tokens waiting for you in game to help you get started.

Here is how the rewards break down for this event, with every character receiving a cosmetic outfit. Go into the Summer Event interface to see them in all their glory:

Common
3 Emblems & 6 Sprays (New Feature - read on)
Uncommon
2 Victory Poses
1 Wristband, 1 Pistol, 1 Knife
Rare
2 Defeat Poses
1 Wristband, 1 Pistol, 1 Knife
2 Clothes, with 2 matching Hats
Legendary
1 Wristband, 1 Pistol, 1 Knife
4 Clothes, with 4 matching Hats
1 Terror Skin

Summer Getaway Story
We know you might be stuck inside right now, so we decided to bring the holiday to you. How about a well deserved break away in the Spanish Riviera? This event we’ve got a 25-step Challenge Story which changes based on the decisions you make. And get this, from start to finish it's free-to-play. Go to the Challenge interface in game to get started.

You'll notice as you progress through the story line that there are both free and Premium Rewards available. Premium Rewards will only be collected if you buy any Loot Booth pack during the event. Don’t worry if you pass premium rewards without having purchased a pack, if you choose to buy one later on you’ll collect all the ones you’ve missed.

Sizzler Bonus & Tickets
The Summer Sizzler Bonus is a new system that's part of the Loot Booth during the event. Whenever you play the Loot Booth you'll collect points that fill a bar. Once the bar is full you'll receive a Ticket.

Tickets have a rarity and allow you to pick any reward matching their rarity in the Summer Event interface. Simply click on a reward to redeem your ticket.

Cosmetics, Loot Booth & The Vault
In addition to the Summer Rewards going into the game today there has also been a bunch of new cosmetics added to each character. We've also gone through all of the cosmetics in the game and adjusted some of their rarities and names to make the overall experience of collecting them feel more complete. Head to the Profile to see what's changed.

The Loot Booth has even been updated this release. It now features an improved flow when using tokens and displays your rewards in the 3D scene. We’ve also marked a bunch of cosmetics as Legacy and put them into The Vault. These will still be obtainable as rewards from the Loot Booth but very rarely. We’ve also included event rewards that are over a year old here so you can get them all year round rather than waiting for an event.

New Feature: Sprays
We’ve added a new cosmetic type to the game, the Spray. These are new graphics that you can collect, with over 40 being released today. Head to the Profile to view them in all their glory and equip them per character. Then, when you’re next in-game press ‘C’ to tag the map with your chosen spray.

Performance & Stability Improvements
As part of this update we’ve included a first version of some performance improvements we’ll be doing over the next several updates. This week’s update in particular targets users who play on ‘low’ graphics settings, and should enable people on lower end hardware to have a smoother experience.

In addition to this, over the past few weeks we’ve released several hotfixes which has reduced the number of crash reports we received by over 95%. This is something we’ll be continuing to monitor and will aim to reduce this even further.

Summer Is Coming

Event Now Live: Summer Event Patch Notes!

For the first time in Deceit history we’re running a Summer Event! Usually the Game Master likes to keep things a bit dark and dingy but for this update things will be a bit more vibrant. With a new story to discover and a wide array of rewards to unlock for both paid and free players, we’re just a few days away from diving in.

The event will be running from Thursday 30th July to Monday 17th August, so make sure you’re online between those dates to get involved.

We’ve listened to your feedback from Easter and have made some improvements to the event system, making it a more refined experience and more rewarding for free players.

We’ve also been working on a host of other changes behind the scenes that will be going out with this release, including Lumberyard Tweaks, Loot Booth Expansion, a New Cosmetic Type and much more...

Catch you on the beach,

Patch Notes - 26.06.2020
General
• Fixed an issue with Deceit's exclusive fullscreen mode and re-enabled it. This can be enabled by setting your Window Mode to 'Fullscreen'. We recommend that users who are experiencing FPS issues try this setting out as it should improve performance. For those that wish to keep the existing behaviour of the 'Fullscreen' mode we recommend switching to 'Borderless Mode' and setting your resolution to your monitor's resolution.
 • Stopped certain in-game sounds from continuing to play after you've left the game.
 • Further improved our metrics for tracking in-game FPS. This set of changes provides us with more in-depth analysis on how your experience was within the game. Furthermore, it enables us to identify any commonalities between those experiencing performance issues.
 • Identified and resolved an issue that caused our last update to be unnecessarily large. Fixing this problem will unfortunately cause this update to also be larger than usual but will also reduce the game's size on disk by ~200MB.
 • Updated our anticheat's detection logic.
 • Fixed several map exploits on the Lumberyard map.
 • Updated our in-game translations thanks to our Community Translators.

Patch Notes - 16.06.2020
General
• Reduced the amount of memory that the game attempts to reserve. This should help with users who have experienced crashes on launch or as they enter games.
 • The texture resolution setting is now automatically calculated by the engine, setting it based on available video memory. This change means texture quality will now scale with the amount of dedicated memory on your GPU, improving FPS for some users.
 • Added more metrics for tracking in-game FPS in order to help us further improve performance.
 • Switched the method used for rendering the in-game mouse to make it feel more responsive when experiencing lower FPS.

v5.0.0 - Lumberyard Map & Game Engine Upgrade
Lumberyard Map
After a long time coming, Deceit's most anticipated update ever is here today! And no - you don't need to check your calendar, it isn't April 1st. The Lumberyard is finally here! Our 5th map offers a refreshing space for your group to venture through - a timber filled ravine, with each area you pass feeling and looking different to the last. To celebrate this release, for the next week we've doubled the likelihood of the Lumberyard being selected in both ranked and casual queues. We'd also to give a massive thanks to the Community Mods for their hard work in testing and providing feedback on the map!
Engine Upgrade - CRYENGINE 5.6
Over the past few months we've been working hard on updating the game engine that Deceit runs on. Upgrading from Deceit's previous engine version, CRYENGINE 5.3, brings over 3 years of bug fixes, features and performance improvements worked on by the team at Crytek. Not only does this improve the speed of us being able to integrate future CRYENGINE updates, this also brings a lot of additional upgrades and improvements to our tooling behind the scenes, which allows us to develop content in a much more efficient way, improving our iteration speeds in creating releases like the Lumberyard Map. You can expect significant visual and gameplay improvements to come off of the back of this upgrade in our future updates. Finally we'd like to re-iterate our thanks to those in the community that helped us beta test this release, your help was truly invaluable.
General
• Parties of 6 are now be able to optionally select a map when queuing up for a game.
 • The 'Profile' section of the Main Menu has received an uplift. As part of a larger collection of improvements, players will now be able to rotate their characters when viewing them. As well as this, the cosmetic slots for knives, guns and wristbands will now display a rotatable model of the item.
 • Added a new service for receiving game crashes. This will help us identify what crashes occur, their frequency and enables us to more easily resolve them.
 • Estonian & Romanian translations have been added to the game. As well as this, several of our other languages have had their translations updated. Many thanks to our community translators for their help.
 • Players that are unable to connect to games will now receive queue timeouts in order to reduce the frequency of games failing to start.
Public Developer API Changes
