Galacticare News

Goodbye Credits, Hello Poverty!

Greetings Directors!

This Galacticare Wednesday we’re robbing you of your credits and free items and there’s nothing you, or your silly little Medibots can do. In the imminent Challenge Mode update, we're hitting you where it hurts the most: right in the budget!

In the interest of keeping things, well, interesting, players will now experience financial hardships, setbacks and even bankruptcy. You’ll need to balance your books, pinch the pennies and cut corners like never before!

While we’ve chosen to make things difficult, YOU are ultimately responsible for the downfall of your hospital. Failing to keep your swarms of patients alive, cleaning up the filth they leave behind, training staff, updating and adding new facilities, and maintaining your hospital rating will lead you to your inevitable doom.

Freebies, in this economy?! If only! No, Baz is depressed, and he’ll be keeping his precious gifts to himself. No more free holo-docs for you, sadly.

Unfortunately, the more capable doctors have decided to resolve their student debt elsewhere. You’ll have to train high-skilled doctors yourself – or directly pipe the required experience into their panicked brains.

But it’s not all miserable news; If you can actually survive Chapter 1, you’ll unlock The Research Lab, Training Room, Recovery Ward and Craftech upgrades immediately. We’re sure that’ll make you deliriously happy!

Good luck, Directors!

Challenge Mode Teasers

Greetings Directors!

Can’t wait for our new Challenge Mode DLC? We’ve got some exciting teasers for you this Galacticare Wednesday! We should warn you, Directors, this won’t be an easy walk down the milky way!

First is our shiny new Challenge Mode banner at the top of our start menu, and a checkbox to select on the left side of the ‘Play Story’ button!

Second, notice anything different about this patient? That glowing aura surrounding them indicates that their condition has MUTATED! Even if you’ve cured the original condition, prepare to fight against the mutation as you’ll have entirely new problems at hand.

Lastly, be careful or you'll be in the red which will make it harder to complete objectives! There’ll be no time to declare bankruptcy if your patients keep dying. How many gravestones do you see in this gif? 👀

We look forward to causing you mayhem, Directors!

Until next time!

Challenge Mode - Free DLC coming soon!

Does death tickle your fancy but your “friends” keep asking you to change the topic of conversation? The free Challenge Mode DLC is coming soon to satisfy your frankly bizarre tastes with mortality rates that only a Hardcore Hospital Gamer can subdue! If harrowing difficulty isn’t enough, Challenge Mode also brings shiny, golden trophies for the fraction of Directors who survive succeed.

MORE PATIENTS = MORE DEATH

Infection rates have surged and HEAL’s “KPI safeties” were switched off because they were illegal, so keep an eye on the shuttle bays – the goddamned patients are coming in hordes!

MUTATING CONDITIONS

Conditions have begun to mutate into deadly new strains, and it’s a race against time to research the cures before your hospital is flooded with death and disaster. Put those nerds in the Research Lab to work before it’s too late!

KEEP UP OR LOSE

Every mechanic has been tuned to provide a more challenging experience from the baseline difficulty. With adjustments to spawners, patient needs, economic balance, patient health, and more, you’ll need to utilise every tool to succeed.

Challenge Mode is our response to your masochistic requests for more difficulty, suffering, and general misery. Built to be unforgiving and push players to utilise their full toolset, it’s intended for those who want their Galacticare experience to have a little more bite to it.

Directors, are you ready? Challenge Mode DLC is coming soon

Consultant Spotlight - Ultra

Greetings, Directors!

Moving FASTER than the speed of light (maybe) let’s keep pace with our resident high-speed Consultant, Ultra this Galacticare Wednesday!

Ultra, the Tenki tank, is the perfect choice for players that enjoy creating efficient environments. She can teleport around the hospital, and gives patients Warp Buddies, which are small drones that teleport patients to treatment rooms! Resulting in swift recovery for all (again… maybe).

You can play Galacticare however you like! Here’s a helpful tip for those who love a streamlined process, but unsure of where to start! When you’ve unlocked Ultra, put her in the Diagnosis room. This will allow her to see patients early on, allowing them more time to survive!

How would YOU utilize Ultra in your hospital?

Consultants are heroes of the medical world. Unlock new consultants as you play and bring them along as you journey across the galaxy. You can even revisit older levels with them!

Until next time, Directors!
