Update 1757 & SALE - 50% off, Unlocks, Item Cache, Physics, and MORE!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Greetings Agents and welcome to Intruder update build number 1757!
(edit: now 1759!)
Our first sale!!
This is the first time since Intruder's early access release that we have gone on sale! For the next week we will be %50 percent off! We're excited for this update and wanted to make sure it was more easily available for anybody looking for some stealth action.
The Update
This update is a big one, so let's break it down before we get started. First up is player progression. While levels have been introduced in a previous update, now you have something to look forward to with level rewards and the Item Cache! Next, the Intruders stepped up their game and now have a new version of their pistol codenamed The Panther. We also have a new and improved physics system for ragdolls, grenades, and other environment objects. Finally, we have some updates for the Intruder Map Maker which helps you make the game better for everyone else! Enough waiting around, it's time to dive in!
Progression System
Last time we sent you an update you saw the player progression system with XP and leveling. After each match you are awarded XP and level increases in the match summary screen. On top of that, you now acquire new items to add to your Item Cache. Some levels have preset rewards, but others are completely random, so be on the lookout for rare items!
Item Cache
Now that you're unlocking items for playing Intruder, you ought to be able to do something with them! That's where the Item Cache comes in. You can access your Item Cache in game on either the main menu, or from the team select menu when you join a match. Clicking on an Item in the cache brings it up in the inspection viewer so you can get a good look at what you'll be bringing to your next fight. After previewing, you can equip and unequip your items which you might need to do often as there are plenty to choose from!
Item Types
• Skin - New weapon designs available for the Shrike and Panther
  • Reticle - New reticles available for the red dot and the sniper scope
  • Charge Sound - New sounds for when you detonate your explosive charges
  • Sensor Sound - New sounds for when someone sets off your motion sensor
  • Arm Patch - Patches for your character to show off your level
  • Wall Tag - Decals that can be applied to walls, floors, ceilings, and more
  • Hat - New hats to wear on your head
  • HQ Background - Backgrounds to display when you're at the HQ
  • Profile Background - Backgrounds to display on your player profile

You'll also notice that the room creation menu has some new options available. This new Item cache dropdown let’s you determine what items types are available for use in your room. You can choose what to allow in your room so you can go all out for some zany action or keep it plain for some competitive play.

The item cache was implemented using Steam's inventory system. This makes it really easy for us to add new items or change details on existing ones. The four tiers are Blue, Green, Orange, and Purple which have rarities common, uncommon, rare, and very rare respectively.

Another benefit of Steam is that the items you've acquired are open for trading and for sale in the marketplace. Members of secret base alpha have already been trading items during testing and it's been a ton of fun!
The Panther
The Panther is the updated pistol used by the intruders. It not only looks better, but works better too! The suppressor has been slimmed down allowing for a clearer sight picture! It also has weapon skins so be sure to unlock, trade, or even buy the skins so you can start out in style. Thank you Jake, Brayan, and Martino for the awesome art and technical work.
Ragdoll Syncing
Ragdolls are now synced more accurately for all players. Previously ragdolls were pretty accurate, but in certain scenarios slight inaccuracies could lead to a player's body falling off a ledge on one person's view while they actually haven't fallen on their end. Now ragdoll positions have much tighter tolerances and the previously mentioned scenario should not happen anymore!
Ragdolling With Weapons
Being knocked over used to leave your character literally empty handed. Now you hold on to your weapon when knocked over so you know when you shot a sniper or if they picked up one of the shotguns on the map.

The exception to this is the shield pickup. If you are knocked over with the shield out it will be dropped and can be picked up by other players! You can see Agent Bopman15 using some quick thinking to pick up a shield Agent SpoooKy3 unfortunately dropped.
Chairs as Weapons?!?!
Intruder is usually about stealth and cooperation, but sometime you just have to let out your inner wrestling star and slam someone with a chair. The good news is that now you can! By placing explosives or well-placed grenades you can launch chairs into enemies and take them out!
Intruder Map Maker 2.05 Preview
Jake and Clor have worked on the Map Maker in order to make it more accessible to people without as much knowledge in Unity. New scripts and activator updates make interactive level elements a breeze to add to your map. Player models and toolbars make it more intuitive to create and upload your maps to the workshop. Of course there's much more detail than this, so check out the Intruder MM portion of the video above in order to get a preview on what's been added! Some of the additions:

  • Character model references for spawn points
  • GUI updates for tons of scripts for easier management and use
  • Tool tips for everything!
  • Scene gizmos and UI to show the effects of your activators and other setups
  • Door swing angle/slide distance previews in scene view
  • New buttons for uploading or adding map features and game objects
Bug Fixes and QoL Improvements
As always, we are working to patch out any bugs and make Intruder smoother and more fun to play with minor changes that don't need a whole paragraph about them but are still nice to know about.

These changes include, but are not limited to:
  • Briefcase icon is removed when you go into spectator mode
  • You can now see LMS zones through the sniper scope
  • You no longer get stuck on small bumps that cause you to move slowly across a surface
  • Round timers now display correctly in IntruderMM
  • Ragdoll camera view can no longer look through doors or walls
  • Slit windows in Riverside B2 have been narrowed to prevent players from squeezing through
  • Walking over a friendly grenade will no longer cause reflective damage
  • Reflective damage from grenades is more consistent
  • CS gas now affects all other players in LMS game mode
  • Sensors and remote charge positions are now synced up between players
  • New visuals for capture zones
DiD yOu KnOw ThAt!?
You can pick up a package from your teammates back. Use this as a way of getting the package from a higher location that the carrier can't quite reach!

Intruder Update 1648 - Stats, XP, Game Modes, MORE!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Hello everyone and welcome to Intruder update build number 1648!
In this update all agents now have a brand new player profile that contains stats, experience points, and more which can be seen at our brand new website IntruderFPS.com! Along with new profiles, this update contains new game modes on official maps and more tools for custom maps made with Intruder Map Maker.
Player Progression
When playing on ranked maps you'll notice the new Round Summaries that will list your actions for that round including kills, arrests, captures, and more. This allows you to analyze your gameplay without spoiling the stealthiness of Intruder with a kill feed that can be found in many FPS games.

Additionally, at the end of each match you will be able to see how much experience you gained from that match listed alongside your report for all rounds you played in the match. These Match Summaries show you how much experience each action gives you, and as you'll probably find out yourself, kills aren't everything. Finally, you can see your level rise as you fill up the experience gauge. You no longer need to challenge your buddy to a 1v1 on Cliffside to prove your skill!

Your player level is now displayed in the teams menu alongside your username and reputation rating so you can gain some more intel on the enemy before you plan your strategies.

Thanks to the awesome work from long time Intruder veteran DukeOfSussex, we have a beautiful and intricate new website with player stats, news, rooms lists, and the development roadmap.

Check out your personal stats page or find other agents by using the search bar or through their in-game profile card!

We are working on tracking more stats and adding more progression updates so please let us know what you would like to see by chatting with us on Discord or by leaving a comment on this article!
New Game Modes
The room creation menu has been updated to include map voting and a filtered search option, but that's not all! The new website backend allows us to make changes more quickly and allows us to put out new content such as Riverside B2 Alt or Riverside B1 Push.
Riverside B2 Alt
This mode is very similar to the default game mode, but with a few critical changes. Spawn locations have been altered so intruders spawn on the ground level of B1 and the guards spawn on the top floor of B2. The package locations have also been changed to B2 top floor Computer Lab and B2 basement Sample Room. Old strategies such as rushing Lab A or taking the vents to server room won't cut it anymore so it's up to you to find the optimal path to extract the package or create a devilishly devious rig!
Riverside B1 Push
This mode changes up Riverside even more by having the intruders spawn with the package. That's right, the package, as there is only one to pick up. Intruders must escort this package from B2 Gallery to one of the two possible extracts located inside of B1. The closer extract is located behind the front desk in B1 Lobby and the further extract is located in the B1 Executive Office. While the Intruders may seem like they have the upper hand, the shortened round timer and single package allow the guards to use their tactics and force the ball in their court.
But Wait, There's More
Like we mentioned earlier, we are now able to make additions at a faster pace and you can expect to see new game modes coming soon to the official maps you know and love. If you're reading this article right after it has been published then Mountainside Push is being tested and tweaked right now!
Map Maker Updates
Since the official maps are getting new modes, why not add a new mode to one of your custom maps with Intruder Map Maker version 2.04!
Game Mode: Hack
Included in this update are computer network prefabs that you can drag into your scene. You can add up to 60 computer nodes arranged in any network layout you want.
Game Mode: Raid
You can now add up to 10 packages and 10 capture points to your maps to allow for more diverse and exciting map ideas. You can even combine raid and hack by adding a computer network to your map alongside the packages!
Activators and Doors
Activators can now be used to lock or unlock doors in your map which can spice up gameplay and dynamically force strategy changes.
Bug Fixes and QoL Improvements
These changes include, but are not limited to:
  • New briefcase icon appears as part of your HUD when you have the package
  • New sound effect when you pick up or drop the briefcase
  • Riverside elevator floor display working again
  • End of match observe cam placement fixed for custom maps
  • Lockpick tooltip removed for doors which can't be lockpicked
  • Round timer display bug fixes
  • Music added to tutorial
  • Getting a draw on practice rounds no longer repeats the practice round
  • Use map changes to get to alternate Riverside modes instead of /lms or objective change button
  • Various tiny UI bug fixes
  • Mouse sensitivity bug when getting CS gassed and quitting fix
  • Slowmo mode will no longer affect the map vote screen
  • Various workshop map loading and server connection fixes
  • Cliffside roof security system upgrade
DiD yOu KnOw ThAt!?
After a package has been dropped you can use explosives to blast it to a more convenient (or inconvenient) location!

BUT WAIT, there's more!

Update 1533 - Shrike Pistol and New Map Maker Tools

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Hello everyone and welcome to Intruder update build number 1533!
This update brings two big changes to Intruder, the new Shrike pistol and updates to make map making easier than ever!
Shrike Pistol
• Guards have upgraded their arsenal with a new sidearm! The Shrike deals 25 damage, with very accurate hip fire and door penetration that falls off with distance.
  • A new attachment, the laser sight, makes its debut on the Shrike! Use the keybind to turn the laser on of off.
  • New empty animations for both pistols with matching sound effects to let you know you need to reload!
Intruder Map Maker 2.02
• SabreCSG plugin integration allows you to build complete maps in Unity with SabreCSG!
  • Added support for reverb and sound volumes (spooky vents coming soon).
  • Equipment Sets makes it easy to customize equipment for both teams! The old equipment system is deprecated but still works so old maps still work!
  • Pickups are updated to use Item Proxies which include the new Shrike pistol and Bush Camouflage!
  • Warning and confirmation popups so you know what's up when things aren't working.
Bug Fixes
• Additional small bug fixes as usual.

Update 1489 - New Oceanside & Smoother Gunplay!
Hello everyone and welcome to Intruder update build number 1489!
This update brings changes focused on making gameplay and gunplay feel smooth and consistent. There is also an update to Oceanside which you can learn more about down below!
Aiming and Shooting
• When aiming down the sights of a weapon your field of view will lower smoothly rather than the instant shift present in previous builds. This should make it easier to stay focused on a target when switching from hip fire to aiming down the sights.
  • Gun sway after aiming down sights has been greatly reduced making it easier to lock onto an enemy and take the shot before it's too late.
  • A new option to choose whether or not your sensitivity is lowered when you aim down sights. (default from older builds is to have this enabled)
  • FOV has been increased from 70 degrees vertical to 74 degrees vertical (106 degrees horizontal on 16:9).
  • Default framerate is now uncapped with vsync turned off for extremely smooth aiming and shooting. Check the graphics options menu.
  • Shooting an enemy or getting shot now has a distinct and gruesome hit sound along with a spray of blood indicating where the shot hit. Use this to your advantage to deduce where you or your teammate are getting shot from or confirming your own shots. Listen closely to the video below:
    [previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
  • Tooltip for focusing while aiming down sights updated to display the correct keybind for players who use hold ADS instead of toggle ADS.
Energy and Motion
• Walking no longer reduces the rate of energy recovery so you don't need to stop and go in order to keep your energy up. Crouch-walking and running still drain your energy, but you can transition to walking instead of having to stop and rest.
  • The amount of energy lost from shooting while moving has been lowered somewhat so you can take some shots while motion without draining all of your energy.
  • Dropshotting in Intruder is now a thing of the past! If you drop to prone immediately after shooting or sprinting it will take longer for you to take your weapon back out to engage with the enemy.
General Changes
• Dead bodies no longer spawn when someone joins a match mid-round. No more spooky bodies to startle you as you sneak out with the print room package!
  • Hand signal sound priority has been fixed so it doesn't get drowned out on noisy maps.
  • The default match mode is now best 3 or 5 rounds per set before a team switch on all maps except Mountainside.
  • The Mountainside round timer has been reduced to 10 minutes.
  • The LMS game mode now allows you to join any team regardless of team balance.
  • The dreaded "Cliffside bug" as it were will now ask all players to reconnect. Auto-reconnect probably coming in the future.
Oceanside Update
The new Oceanside update keeps the map we all know and love, but gives it a facelift with new lighting, sightlines, and sounds! Check out this video:
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
We've also made some changes and additions:
  • Shotgun added
  • Sun added
  • Round timer added
  • Fixed collisions
  • Wall chunking from bullet hits
  • Trees actually light
  • Bedroom ready for action
  • Replaced those old crappy doors with the lovely new doors
  • Getting hit by the van will kill you now
  • Fixed water height issues
  • Added reverb to cave
  • Added nice light in guard spawn

New lighting isn't all that's coming to Oceanside. Look out for new models and assets in the future. More Oceanside update notes over on the workshop at: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1813453028

Thanks again to all the dedicated agents of Secret Base Alpha who tirelessly test these updates before they are ready to go live. As usual, drop into our Discord server at https://discord.gg/superbossgames for more about updates and development as well as info about events and tournaments! Stick around for a bit and you can join Secret Base Alpha too, we'd love to hear what you think!
DiD yOu KnOw ThAt!?
You can walk silently by aiming down your sights! While it is slower than walking, it doesn't drain your energy like crouch-walking does.
