Hotfix and preperation update 0.8.pre2

- Added around 200 new assets for the edtior under Packs/Mediterranean Ruins
- Added 2 Hats, 9 Trails and 9 Skins
- Added ability to open backup maps from within the game
- Classic mode has no reset penalty by default now
- Hard mode has simulation mode by default now
- Fixed a few multiplayer issues in the editor
- Fixed broken tangents issues in the importer
- Fixed multiple crashes during map change
- Fixed issues with free cam
- Fixed Blueprints/Collections appearing in map selection window
- Fixed post process volumes sometimes sharing and overwriting data
- Fixed various smaller issues and improvements
- "Restart Map" button now works on custom maps (will require reloading of the map)
- Various small performance improvements

Update 0.8.0 pre



After months of work we are close to release our first VR build. Something many of you requested since we have launched our greenlight campaign. And there is even more new stuff going to be included in Update 0.8.0. This update is all about preparation.

Engine Update

In order to deliver a better VR experience we had to update the version of our game engine. This time the update was awful, since it had a huge impact on the physical behavior of our game. To guarantee that every custom map still works as intended - which is our top priority - we had to put a lot of effort into this process.

[h2]So what is this update about?[/h2]
This “pre” update is all about quality assurance. After days of testing, we are confident that everything runs smoothly. The only uncertainty is the behavior of your setup. That is why this update only contains the engine update and the following improvements:

  • Significant collision improvements
  • More consistent shooting behavior
  • Scoreboard additions
  • Spectator fixes
    Much faster update cycle

[h2]What if it’s broken?[/h2]
If you encounter something broken, please tell us. The best way is to enter our Discord: https://discord.gg/perfuse
If things are terribly broken, you can switch to our legacy branch. This can be done by right-clicking “Golf It!” in your Steam Library > Properties. Click on “Betas” and change the “NONE” branch to “legacy”.

Roadmap

After VR has been released, mac will be our next milestone. Meanwhile, we will continue to release more asset packs and improve our editor. Everything else is top secret. ;)

Update 0.7.2



Editor Assets


With over 100+ new assets this update will enhance your vegetation. New trees, flowers, and tendrils allows you to build dense jungles and lush meadows. But beware of the flytrap...







Post Processing


Another addition to the editor is post-processing, which can be bound to zones or applied globally. You can easily change the mood of your map by applying LUTs and post-process materials.

Update 0.7.1

Asset Update



Asset Pack


This update includes the first in a series of asset packs. It's related to food and contains more than 160 assets for the editor. By releasing asset packs like this one we try to support map creators with variety, creative freedom and faster iteration times. If you have any wishes for future asset packs let us know in the comments below or on discord.

New Game Mode


We've added a new game mode called Race, where the fastest player gets the lowest score. In addition you can swing your club even if the ball is still rolling - but watch out sometimes the ball is faster than your swing. It's rather experimental and gets improved over time - let us know what you think and what needs to be changed.

Asia Theme Update



Asia Theme


Finally, it’s here - our new theme. It comes with a challenging new map and over 400 new assets, hats and skins. Every asset is designed with modularity in mind, to ensure you can be as creative as possible.



Watch out, our new map is quite challenging, you'll need some training to get under par. ;)



Keybindings


Keybindings can now be changed, added and removed within the options menu. You can bind up to three different keys per action on keyboard and controller.
