Update 0.124 – Skills, Scope Zeroing and Prone Position



Greetings dinosaur hunters!

This update introduces several gameplay and interface improvements, including skills, scope zeroing, the long-requested prone position, HUD refinements, subtitle improvements, and support for several new languages. Backend systems were also improved to better handle queued requests.

Scope Zeroing

Scopes can now be zeroed for different distances, allowing players to better compensate for bullet drop when shooting over long ranges. After measuring distance with a rangefinder, players can adjust their scope zero to match the target distance for more precise shots.

Prone Position

Players can now go prone, allowing for a lower shooting profile and improved shooting stability. This enables more stealthy approaches and makes long-distance shooting more effective.

Skills System

A new skills system has been introduced to expand gameplay progression.
The first skills focus on scope zeroing, allowing players to improve their effectiveness at different shooting distances:
  • Short Range Zeroing
  • Medium Range Zeroing
  • Long Range Zeroing


This system will expand in future updates with additional skills affecting various aspects of gameplay.



HUD Compass Improvements

The HUD compass visuals have been refined to make orientation clearer and easier to read during exploration and tracking.

HUD UI Improvements

Various improvements have been made to the HUD interface to improve clarity and usability during gameplay.

Subtitle Improvements

Subtitle text boxes now scale dynamically with the text, improving readability across different dialogue lengths.

Localization

Prehistoric Hunt now supports additional languages:
  • Spanish
  • Latvian
  • Japanese
  • Chinese (WIP)


Backend Improvements

More backend calls are now queued and processed sequentially, improving reliability and reducing issues caused by simultaneous requests.

Dinosaur Spawn Behavior Fixes
  • Fixed an issue with the solo chance parameter that caused dinosaurs to spawn in groups more often than intended.
  • Fixed spawn counts of some species on custom maps.


Multiplayer & Technical Improvements
  • Minor fix to pellet spread calculations where a small difference existed between host and client calculations in multiplayer.
  • Improved player synchronization when moving down slopes, reducing vertical glitches that could occur in multiplayer.

Dino Rarity Balancing
[p]Dino rarity is now properly affected by selected difficulty:

Custom Map Editor Improvements

  • [p] Fixed beech trees in custom maps.

  • [p] Invalid object color indicator now works more reliably when creating special locations.

Hotfix Update 0.123.15 - Item Transaction Stability Improvements

This hotfix improves item transaction stability and fixes issues related to buying, selling and picking up items in rapid succession.

[h2]Fixes[/h2]

  • Fixed an issue where failed Buy Item attempts could incorrectly remove the item from the server.
  • Improved stability when repeatedly picking up, selling and buying items in quick succession.
  • Reduced inconsistencies caused by rapid transaction spam.
  • Fixed an issue where if selling an item failed the UI did not update correctly.

Hotfix Update 0.123.14 - Lighting & Visual Fixes

In this hotfix we’ve addressed several visual inconsistencies and lighting-related issues reported by the community.

  • Fixed visible names of HeadArmor and Hands in dinosaur hits.
  • Fixed incorrect sun direction (now properly moves east to west).


[h2]Lighting Improvements
[/h2]

  • Improved ambient lighting during nighttime for better visibility and atmosphere.
  • Improved underwater sun subsurface lighting for more natural water visuals when sun is lower.
  • Created a dedicated lighting area for the Seabase on Tenebris.
  • Adjusted player flashlight reflectivity to reduce excessive blooming and harsh reflections.
  • Improvements to local reflection probe updates for more consistent reflections.
  • Player illumination was reduced so the player matches better surrounding lighting.
  • Improvements to transition from day to night, and night to day
  • Increased mid-day lighting.

  • Fixed fog issues inside the bird cage area.

Hotfix Update 0.123.06 - Profile Reset, Online/Offline Switch & Fixes



Greetings dinosaur hunters!

This hotfix focuses on stability and profile management improvements based on player feedback.

Offline Mode Improvements
  • Added ability to switch between Online and Offline mode directly in Settings
  • Offline mode saves inventory data more often
  • Offline mode gives intro rewards


Reset Player Profile

Added option to Reset Player Profile (Warning: This permanently resets progression and inventory).



Other Improvements
  • Added new level up sound
  • Mosasaurus heart bleed value increased


Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where selling items did not always work correctly
  • Fixes to data handling between online and offline, so online data is not mixed to offline profile
  • Fix for new damage config missing some configurations and causing some hits to not register on Pachycephalosaurus and Therizinosaurus
