Build 0389-CL5183 Patch Notes: Variable Scopes/ Grenade Drones

Added:
  • Variable zoom level to 4x and 6x scopes (Z key)
  • Alternate reticules for non-aimpoint scopes (Z key)
  • Ability to disarm traps & claymore
  • White phosphor night vision variant. NVG color can be changed in Gear options (icons not final).
  • Utility: Grenade drone (drop grenade with T key)
  • Utility: Flare gun for illumination
  • Localization: Traditional Chinese
  • AI can use burst/automatic fire
  • AI can now detect and shoot down drones
  • New firing sounds for handguns and MGs
  • Added steam fx when hitting pipes
  • NPCs on range respawn for unlimited combat practice




Edits & Tweaks:
  • Increased grenade volume at distance
  • Interrupt reloading if switching weapon
  • Improve player name tag visibility and show it during ADS
  • Improved bullet penetration on thin surfaces (tents, fences)
  • Improved ballistics code for more realistic velocities
  • Improve tooltips & icons related to mission rotations
  • Added more signs on maps to help navigation (ongoing work)
  • Increased player replication distance to 600m
  • AI: Sentries should stay closer to their guard area
  • AI: squads try to move in closer if engaged at distance
  • AI: try to better estimate shot direction when shot at beyond visual range
  • AI sound perception: increase hearing range for gunshots, hearing is delayed by the speed of sound
  • Tweaked AI placement, patrol routes and sentry locations on all maps, audit still ongoing


Fixes:
  • Fixed shell casings not ejecting on pistols if firing too fast
  • Fix name tags not visible for host
  • Doubled dry fire sound in full auto mode
  • Allow NVG to be adjusted while using the MK13
  • Fixed Buk launcher not always visible in spectator view
  • Fixed Weather option resetting to 'random' when returning to lobby
  • Fixed bright minimap on Renegade
  • Game sometimes returning immediately to the lobby after starting a match
  • Fix helicopter fire not synced for all clients

We've had reports of instability especially on the Anvil map introduced in the previous update. While we haven't identified a cause, this build includes some changes that will hopefully address the issue. It also includes the following:

Added:
- AI will now use flashlights when patrolling at night
Edits & Tweaks:
- Increased health pack max carry capacity to 4
- Continue map audit for metal fences that you should be able to shoot through
Fixes:
- Make sure weapon 'tail' sounds are also delayed by distance
- Two 'Thunderstorm' weather presets in weather settings (one should have been 'Dry Thunderstorm')

- AI: New sentry behavior for guarding objectives in addition to patrols
- AI: New 'militia' variant for AI appearance
- Options: 15 second briefing length
- Uniform patches representing some of our community groups! (Caliber Collective, EBDA, Hawks and Easy Company)
- Added footstep dust fx for soil, dirt and snow
- Added a few mission presets for Co-op
Edits & Tweaks:
- AI: more varied firing cadence, also takes target distance to account
- AI: increase combat cover search distance, misc improvements to combat pathfinding
- AI: more reactive to taking damage during combat
- AI: Increased number of sentries & patrols at higher difficulties
- Settings: Global illumination is on by default
- Settings: tactical ping is middle mouse by default
- Updated DMR recoil curve
- Updated all weapon firing to use Unreal's Metasounds system
- Performance optimizations related to animations
- Texture size optimizations (ongoing)
Fixes:
- Watch was appearing black
- AK200 reload was audible too far away
- Shot 'tail' sound would only play after releasing the trigger
- Buk wreck wasn't blocking bullets
