Glassbreakers - Development Blog #1

[p]Snuggle up, Squad, and welcome to the first Steam Glassbreakers developer blog of 2025! We know that you have been waiting for an update from us, and we are excited to finally share more with you. So grab your beverage of choice and settle in, because today marks the beginning of fresh details about Glassbreakers.[/p][p][/p][p]We know what you’re thinking: “Where have you been? We’ve been waiting for an update on Glassbreakers since Open Beta.”[/p][p][/p][p]As many of you know, Polyarc is a small and growing, but independent studio of around 40 people. Over the last year, we’ve been busy. For instance, in late 2024, we delivered a Quest 3S and 3 update for Moss fans, bringing the visuals in line with other platforms, adding a combat skip feature to address player feedback and appeal to more cozy gamers in VR, and fixing a few small bugs. But behind the scenes, we never stopped working on Glassbreakers.[/p][p][/p][p]At the end of the Open Beta period in January 2024, we had amassed quite a bit of feedback from players and partners about what you’d like to see when Glassbreakers made its eventual return. Two things became clear:[/p]
 • [p]As a small studio, free-to-play was difficult to sustain. If you’ve played a F2P title, you know that they survive off of constant content drops, such as cosmetics and new heroes. For a small team working on multiple projects, this can be a challenge, and we didn’t want a bad experience for our players. Which leads us to…,[/p]
 • [p]We recognized that many players are feeling fatigued with the F2P model. Games can feel unfinished and endless battle pass grinds don’t always feel rewarding or interesting. More and more, we see players asking for games that have meaningful progression systems.[/p]
[p]With these two things in mind, we made the decision to take Glassbreakers offline so we could do the work necessary to make changes that we felt better aligned with our vision.[/p][p][/p][p]So with all of that said, 2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Glassbreakers, and we are thrilled to announce that we have begun sharing sneak-peeks and new information in the Polyarc Discord server. In fact, we are going live next Wednesday, June 25th, at 3PM Pacific, in the Polyarc Discord server to chat with Polyarc Creator LiveOpenMike about Glassbreakers development and answer your questions.[/p][p][/p][p]Convert to Your Local Time and Date Join the Discord Server[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]As we embark on this part of the Glassbreakers journey together, we are grateful for your patience, passion, and dedication. Your comments, art, videos, and enthusiasm certainly has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. As always, we can’t wait to see what you think about what we’ve been working on through our Town Halls over the coming months, so make sure you head over to the Polyarc Discord so you don’t miss a single beat.[/p][p][/p][p]Join the Polyarc Discord[/p]

Glassbreakers | Open Beta Patch 0.6

Hello Glassbreakers!

We have made the following changes:

New Features
Lobby Tutorial
We’ve added some tutorial features to help new players navigate around the Attic. Let us know what you think in the Glassbreakers Discord!

Bug Fixes
 • We have resolved an issue for the Daily Quest Countdown timer displaying the wrong time depending on when and where you complete a quest.
 • We have resolved an issue where the Daily Quest for breaking Glass only credits for two when breaking all three in an AI match.
 • (Steam) We have resolved an issue impacting in-app purchasing.
 • We have resolved an issue impacting Champion stats not appearing correct at the end of matches.

Glassbreakers | Open Beta Patch 0.5

Hello Glassbreakers!

We have made the following changes:

Balance Changes
Champions

Gwendoline
While Gwendoline has great survivability on her own, we're not seeing her ability have as much of an impact as we hoped it would. We're increasing both her starting redirection amount and the amount she redirects at max level. Our hope is this gives her team a bit more lasting power in team fights.
 • Significantly increased the amount of damage redirected from allies while King's Protection is active.
Barnard
Last balance patch we increased Barnard's starting health to give him better survivability in the early game. We knew we needed to do more to make him feel like he can compete with Brel but needed more time to find the right change. In the end we found that both Radiant Blast and Barnard's attack needed a bit of love. Our hope is that these increases in damage will help Barnard compete with Brel for a spot when you are composing your squad.
 • Slightly increased starting attack damage.
 • Slightly increased attack damage gained per level.
 • Increased Radiant Blast's starting damage and damage gained per level.

Bug Fixes

 • Players should no longer have the wrong name highlighted on the Leaderboard if you have a tied score.
 • Steam players should no longer be offset.
