1.6.5 Micro fix

Hello beautiful people
This is just a small update to address an audio bug. The water sounds will now work with the audio controls.

Update 1.6.5 is now live.


Hello beautiful people.
Outback has been updated to version 1.6.5. The main menu and the entire map for the main game have been rebuilt. The new map uses a 1 to 1 scaled representation of the Cockle Creek Tasmania area. With 7km * 7km of playable map being released for this update. Also the lighting, foliage and water systems have been rebuilt.

Old save files will not work with this new build version.

  • Engine version updated to Unreal Engine 5.4.
  • Remade the main menu.
  • Remade the main map (1 to 1 scale for Cockle Creek area. 7 km

Update 1.6.4

Update 1.6.4 is now live

Hello beautiful people.I hope everyone is safe and doing well.

This update was focused on increasing the size of the terrain and making everything look nicer.
The map has been completely rebuilt. The overall terrain is now 10 times larger than before. However, the playable area remains roughly the same. This change was needed to allow more room for places to explore as the game develops further. An example of this is how Hobart now has more houses than the entire game in the previous build.

Also a lot of the models have been remade and the lighting has been adjusted to improve the look of the game.

There are two important side notes to mention.
The first is that your previous saves will not work in the current build. You will need to delete them to be able to play.
The second is that the new build is aimed at higher end hardware then previously. You will need to adjust your quality settings in the main menu.

1.6.4 public test 1 now available

This announcement is because I just wanted to let everyone know that the first test build for update 1.6.4 is now available on the public testing build.

To gain access you need to go into steam under properties and select betas. In the drop-down menu for available betas, you will find the "public_testing_build".
