NEW UPDATE: Slopes Implemented

BUILD 2006 IS LIVE ON STEAM!

The update is live and ready to be tested and expored!

It's DASH day again!

With this new update you can experience a new feeling in the editor. The slope tile (in all tilesets) will allow for corners to be smooth, cool ramps to be built and new ways to play with the enemies. The missile ammo is also more explosive now, making it more interesting in chaotic and action-based levels. Launch the game and get ready to create the levels that will

Though it required over 72 hours of extra math, testing and puzzles I finally made everything come together in this epic build which is going to be a game changer:
Slope tiles unlocked - make levels with new dynamics, flows and challenges!
  • Slopes allow you to flow over hills Sonic style and polish your cave or alien ship hall with smooth edges
  • Sploders slide down slopes. Let them have a ride!
Missiles now more explosive - leaving a clear impression of their advantages (and disadvantages! The new missile has the power of 4 explosions in one, damaging up to 9 tiles on impact.

This was a massive intervention in the basic physics etc. (you were right Buenaventura!). Yet everything is as solid as ever! It took some time to make the math for the auto-tiling of the slopes and there are still one or two errors left (can you find them!? XD).

Because this is such a massive update, your help finding bugs and quirky matters is more needed than ever!

NEW UPDATE: Price lowered + Bazooka + crumbling platforms!

DASHers of the world! A brand new build is live. Ready to satisfy your cravings for more pixelated tiles!

BUILD 2005 IS LIVE

  • We lowered the price of the Early Access ticket! How about that!
  • New crumbling platform integrated: make levels with tiles which disappear (crumble and vanish) to create complexity and danger!!
  • New Bazooka ammo integrated! BOOM! (massive impact on crates and enemies! Destroys crumbling tiles too)
  • More optimized projectile precision. Still not perfect but getting closer
  • News tab in Main Menu upgraded to feature and display new stuff in all new builds
  • Tournament option now in menu, despite the fact that you can't enter it yet. Werkin' on it

As mentioned the devs will not be integrating server-based design such as Tournament right now, because we have to focus on bumping up our budget which pulls us away from the desks, I hope you all will find this type of upgrade exciting and something worth trying out!

Looking forward to more streams and levels!!!

First Patch Up: Major enhancements and fixes to the release build!

This first patch to the Early Access build includes most important fixes which are major to the overall shape of the game. The collision and tile-placement error(s) are postponed for next patch:

  • Fixed crash caused by overstacking memory due to not deleting sprite being stored in memory. The game would crash after the Pause Menu (opened to Respawn) being opened hundreds of time, stacking up memory each time without clearing it.
  • You can now Respawn with one push on the controller: hit the back/share button (the little button left to the logo on the controller) to instantly respawn!
  • Prevented cheat: before this patch player could load level, change the tiles, set a record and leave without saving making it possible to basically upload a level which is unbeatable. This bug was carefully figured out by @Doctor2B - Here’s a challenge for you: if you can upload another unbeatable level (like the Box) we will keep it in the pool. If not.. it will be binned :gg: The challenge is on!!
  • A new record on a level is now seen as a modification to that l level. So in order to keep any newly set records during a session you must now remember to Save Level before exiting in order to keep level up to date.
  • The editor now only prompts you for Save option if there is any changes made. If not it closes without asking.
  • Now shows “Record Reset” consistently every time you edit a level after a record is set
  • Juiced up Main Menu: A little jelly effect as you toggle the options + new backgrounds
  • EASTER EGGS for the DASH International: go find them yourself, I won’t spoil ‘em
  • During some testing the level called “GGRC_Sample” by Arrrcee was deleted because of certain circumstances. Please reupload it if you are the creator!
  • Toggle sound effect in Pause Menu now corrected to be exact (Thanks @crazed )
  • Another careful observation by @doctor2b showed us that Duffie and Max Leap are equally fast on flat ground. Duffie is now set to be a little faster and Max Leap a little slower in runSpeed. It was a neat tweak and only defines their character even more.
  • Change Hero in Pause Menu now called Hero Select
  • Fixed crash caused by missing sprite index in the world record ghost object
