Endzone - A World Apart News

Full Release Update | Hotfix #14 | 1.1.8172.31754

Survivors!

With the release of our Distant Places DLC, we are also pushing out this hotfix with some fixes for the main game. Please keep reporting possible bugs or issues you might encounter!

See the specific release News to get to know more about all the content added, surrounding the Distanct Places DLC release here!

 • Localization: Sadly some of the localizations for french, spanish and brazilian portuguese didn't make it into the release version of Distant Places. We'll publish an update as soon as those translations arrived. Until then, our fallback is based on automatic translations.

 • Options: The popup that warns the player about a monitor with a high refresh rate no longer triggers every time the game is started. Also, options will no longer be reset when the popup is triggered. However, this will happen one last time with this update, but should be fixed afterwards.
 • Buildings: Fixed an error that could result in stuck animals at the entrance of pastures. This should also be fixed in savegames that are currently having this error.
 • Settlers: Fixed settlers that would not change into builders when they were previously assigned as a milita unit.
 • Buildings: Fixed a problem with dead pasture animals that would not be removed correctly in specific cases.

Changelog Version 1.1.8172.31754

Full Release Update | Patch #5 | V1.1.8166.35967

Greetings survivors,
We've just released the fifth Patch for our full release version of Endzone. Once again, we focused on fixing bugs, tweaking stuff and improve your overall experience with the game. Please keep reporting bugs, giving us your valuable feedback and posting your great suggestions whether to Discord or the Steam discussions!

Important Notes We have recognized that many of you are not satisfied with the raider system. We are not able to completely overhaul it but we made several changes that should make the experience feel less random and unpredictable.

 • Scenarios: Fixed issue with "Back to the Endzone" scenario which falsely allowed prosperity content before being completed, which resulted in errors.
 • Scenarios: The first voice-over of the "Future without sunlight" scenario is now correctly played in English language.

 • Expeditions: Added breadcrumb navigation at the top of the screen. This UI should help understand which part of the expedition you're currently in.

 • Expeditions: Fixed a bug that could cause too many food resources to be deducted.
 • Expeditions: Advantages and badges are now correctly reset when leaving the configuration screen of an expedition.
 • Expeditions: Resources delivered to an Expeditions Post are now correctly updated in the building inspector, when an expedition was started and all explorers are gathered at the Expedition Post.
 • Expeditions: Dialogue points that don't consume rations no longer check how many rations are left. Also, the continue button now hides the confidence bar if no rations are required.
 • Expeditions: Several fixes to wrongly displayed camera positions.
 • Environment: Fixed faulty tree rendering. Trees should now flicker significantly less.
 • Environment: Fixed occasional stuttering in tree falling-animation.
 • Camera: Small fixed to camera movement and target following behavior.
 • Buildings: Fixed several graphical glitches for several buildings.
 • System: The game's ram usage has been optimized. It should now use considerably less memory.
 • UI: The efficiency UI of a building now updates to its correct percentage value when switching through buildings that are or are not boosted by a factory unit.
 • Raiders: Fixed multiple raider warnings that could appear after loading.
 • UI: Switch through building buttons in the build menu are now correctly disabled for buildings that can only be placed once.
 • Buildings: Fixed several links to wrong pages of the glossary.

 • Raiders: Militia is now manning up towers right after the settlement received word that a raider attack is upcoming. This way, it's safe to say that your towers will be manned up when the attack starts.
 • Raiders: Workers are now also filling up towers with ammunition. They do so during peace and even during an attack. If workers have a task to stock up ammunition, they won't be intimidated by raiders.
 • Raiders: Towers can now hold up to 250 units of ammunition instead of 100. Savegames are automatically upgraded to the new amount.
 • Scenarios: Increased ammunition amount the player needs to produce in "Hunter and Hunted" scenario.
 • UI: Improved layout of administration window to avoid overlapping of build menu button with scrollbar button.
 • Expeditions: Adjusted layout for benefactors in local expedition selection.
 • Expeditions: Cancel button for expeditions is now grayed out if the expedition is already on its way home.
 • Expeditions: The Expedition window now considers Expedition Rations that were left at a ruin, before showing a warning prompt, if there is only a small amount of rations available.
 • UI: Decorations are now sorted under their own headline.
 • UI: Several fixes to the fade to black effect and cursor behavior.
 • Scenarios: Scenarios are now sorted by file name in the menu selection.
 • Scenarios: Scenarios now indicate the DLC they belong to, which is highlighted by a ribbon.
 • Expeditions: Several small improvements to the expedition selection screen.
 • Buildings: Electricity can no longer be deactivated on self-sufficient buildings.
 • Buildings: Buildings that become self-sufficient electricity producers when being upgraded now automatically turn their electricity back on.
 • Expeditions: Entering the expedition window no longer clears the corresponding notifications.
 • UI: Holding Shift while adjusting certain numbers now allows larger steps (e.g. for number of professionals in the profession menu).

The time is now, and a new horizon awaits!
We are happy to reveal today a May 17, 2022, Steam launch date for “Distant Places” — the all-new DLC coming to our survival city-builder Endzone - A World Apart.
The Distant Places DLC brings new story missions, new buildings for settlement expansion, exotic and fruity new food items, and most importantly, a means for aerial travel.

Along with the release date announcement, we have revealed a batch of never-before-seen screenshots showcasing new environments awaiting you, the players.

Life in your settlement finally began to flourish in the preceding DLC, Prosperity, and now your survivors are ready to set off on an air-balloon journey to discover the “distant places” their legends speak of.
About Distant Places DLC
Distant Places centuries after settlers managed to regain a foothold on the surface of Earth after having been in subterranean bunkers for over 150 years to escape a radioactive hellscape on the ground above. Featuring 12 narrative-driven expeditions, settlers of the “endzone” will fly to four unknown destinations far beyond their usual borders in search of other displaced survivors, new food items, and brand-new building blueprints, perfect for expanding settlements into (primitive) metropolises.
Features of Endzone’s “Distant Places” DLC
• A Story Untold: Experience 12 story-driven, large-scaled global expeditions that take you to four varied, yet unseen places of the world. Suited for only the most well-equipped adventurers, they offer uncertain but very rewarding outcomes.

 • Beyond the Mysterious Beyond: Driven by an insatiable quest for knowledge and resources, settlers can take to the skies aboard their purpose-built hot air balloon in search of new opportunities.

Distant Places News #2 - Meet Lem, the Tinkerer!
You are traveling in your balloon to a location that is not noted on the old maps. A radio message drew our attention to this area. As you travel over the flooded lands, a small hill rises out of the water in the distance.
Eli: "I can't believe it, but there seems to be someone living on that mountain in the middle of the water." Levi: "I doubt it. Just look how run down it is. This place is absolutely abandoned, isn't it? Places that aren't on the maps, we find everywhere by now, and we never run into anyone."
Jamie starts laughing.
Jamie: "Yeah yeah, that is usually the case, but Eli is right this time. I could just make out a figure at the window through the telescope. A quick look won't hurt."

Lem is affectionate, chaotic and curious. He distrusts strangers, but is not afraid of new acquaintances. He is a lonely genius with a big affinity. Living on this island has certainly not done his mind any good over the years, but what he wants in life is quite clear… or is it?
If you want to know more about Lem and his breathtaking machines, get ready for the Distant Places DLC. You'll accompany the crazy tinkerer and help him complete a wondrous machine. Of course, he will reward you for your help!
