Big Bang Beta 2.0.9-8

Hello again! We're excited to roll out another update, primarily focusing on bug fixes and improvements. Plus, we've added a handy new Quality of Life feature to enhance your gameplay experience.

New features
  • Introduced a quick weapon switch wheel: Hold the middle mouse button, select, and release to switch weapons.
  • Implemented a quick chat wheel: Press 'X' to access team chat and 'V' for taunts.




Improvements
  • Reduced friendly fire damage by half.
  • Enhanced crosshair behavior when friendly fire occurs.
  • Improved clarity in team chat UI.
  • Added corroder pick-ups on the ‘Wet’ and ‘Ubik’ maps.
  • Updated core game libraries (SDL) to address mouse jitter issues on some systems.
  • Refined automatic AI navigation mesh placement for better movement patterns.


Bugfixes
  • Fixed residual damage from hazardous materials (like poison pits) persisting after respawn.
  • Addressed additional scoreboard-related crashes occurring on map load.
  • Corrected incorrect affinity/weapon drop binds in control settings.
  • Resolved weapon switch errors while in edit mode.
  • Eliminated occasional crashes during waypoint initialization.
  • Ensured players no longer trigger explosions when dying if they have equipped grenades without remaining ammo.
  • Removed visible 3D mesh obstructions when spectating janitors.
  • Fixed an issue with player model settings not being saved correctly.
  • Addressed non-updating shadows on rotating models during map load.

Big Bang Beta 2.0.9-7

It's been a few more days which, as usual, means more community feedback to address. We've tackled a range of issues from bothersome bugs to game feel enhancements. Here’s what you can expect in this update:

  • Improved hit sound effects to better convey the impact of your shots.
  • Increased enemy blood visuals to clearly indicate successful hits.
  • Added an option to invert mouse controls.
  • Implemented binding options for primary and secondary weapons in the control settings.
  • Resolved the black screen issue and various related problems, such as missing sound effects.
  • Doubled the maximum frame rate limit to twice the current screen refresh rate in the settings.
  • Added a HUD padding adjustment setting.
  • Fixed the positioning of the sword during swings in First-Person Perspective mode.

Another small update bringing a number of improvements to address the feedback we've received.
Most important of which are performance improvements, particularly in games with high player counts.

  • Optimize player, janitor and projectile FX by implementing culling mechanisms
  • HUD sway toggle in interface settings
  • Postpone opening of the vote menu until the user has stopped interacting with chat/other menus
  • Fixed occasional race condition crash in scoreboard scripts on map load
  • Fixed team switch notification issues
  • Added team swap warning
  • Restored chat voice lines
  • Improved sword handling (and new animations by SniperGoth and Rabidbutton)

  • Added duel spawn status in the HUD
  • Added brightness slider in display settings
  • Improved visibility of tool tips in map editor
  • Fixed halo outlines broken on Intel hardware
  • Fixed renderer reloads in fullscreen mode when no resolution change has been made
  • Slightly improved performance on Intel integrated GPUs by disabling oqwait (might lead to rare and slight occlusion artifacts)
