Character Guide for 2nd Alpha test

This guide has been made by the developers of BS:ER based on their experience testing the game. We are sure everyone can find even better strategies and tactics by playing it yourself.

Magnus
  • Magnus' main attack is 17 vs 1 (W). In order to maximize this skill, you need to hit the opponent with Broken Bullet (Q), reducing his speed, and then dealing 50% more damage with the W skill.
  • Thanks to Tough Body (passive), Magnus' gets stronger every time he loses HP. He gets even stronger if using the 17 vs 1 skill which makes him get more defense.
  • The cooldown for Heavy Strike (E) decreases considerably if using an item that reduces cooldown.
  • Bike from Hell (R) is a skill with short cooldown and used to move on long distance, but it is also very useful when wanting to finish off a fleeing enemy.
  • If you activate the hammer's "Armor Piercing" weapon skill, Magnus' Q-W combo can be even more maximized. As the hammer is a weapon with high attack power, it is especially effective when used with the 17 vs 1 skill.
  • On the other hand, the bat's advantage is being faster. By using the Full Swing skill, you can stun the enemy, so if you master the Heavy Strike skill first with the bat, Magnus can become very scary when fighting against an enemy between four walls.
Jackie
  • Jackie's tactic is her Continuity of Choices. The ideal situation would be to activate the Hack & Slash skill first. You can give extra damage to enemies that are bleeding and gain from the life steal effect by using the Adrenaline Burst (W) skill. If the enemy escapes you can slow him down by using Leaping Strike (E). That's why Jackie is even scarier when waiting to ambush enemies in bushes.
  • If you meet an enemy from a distance and have to use Adrenaline Burst (W) and Leaping Strike (E), you unfortunately have to give up one of the two.
  • If you see a wild animal while in combat with an enemy, killing it fast may be a good option, as Jackie becomes a different person when the Bloodfest (passive) skill is on.
  • The one-hand sword is powerful for instantaneous attacks. You can disappear for a moment and appear again with the Cloak and Dagger skill to deal critical damage.
  • As the two-hand sword gets stronger, it is even more efficient in the latter half of the game. But as it is pretty weak in the first half, it is better to kill a lot of wild animals in that time. As the weapon skill Parry can block the enemy's main attack once, it becomes even scarier in the latter half.
  • On the contrary, the Axe is stronger in the first half of the game. There are a lot of times when Jackie masters Adrenaline Burst (W) first, as the axe has a high attack power, it is more efficient to use Hack & Slash and Leaping Strike, which increase even more her attack power. Jackie's Leaping Strike takes huge proportions especially when used with the Berserk skill.
  • Dual sword is kind of a hidden weapon. You cannot choose it from the start, and you have to make twin swords first, using a kitchen knife and a long sword to be able to use Dual Sword. The specialty of having two swords is being able to perform fast attacks, and although its attack power is low, it is most effective when used with the life steal effect of Adrenaline Burst (W).
Hyunwoo
  • Hyunwoo's best combo is W-E-R.
  • After increasing his defense with Blush (W), reduce the enemy's defense by stunning him with First Attack (E) and gaining defense at the same time. If you succeeded in hitting the target with his ultimate skill, he could deal the most damage in a specific moment.
  • However, as the three skills have rather long cooldowns, we tend to try to master the basic Stomping Foot (Q) skill first.
  • Hyunwoo is really good when combining the glove, that has a really fast attack speed, with Stomping Foot (Q) and the Uppercut skill, allowing him to attack continuously.
  • On the other hand, you can block the enemy's main attack with the tonfa, that has high defense, after enhancing the First Attack (E) skill and using it with Quick Spin and Bluff (W).
Aya
  • Aya requires different strategies depending on the weapon she has.
  • When using the pistol, Aya is the most agile among the characters. It doesn't have a long range, but continuous kiting is possible by actively using pistols that increase movement speed with the Moving Turn (E) skill and Moving Reload. By also using the cooldown reduction effect of Moving Reload, you can have the most effective movement skill in BS:ER by combining the E-D-E skills.
  • When using the sniper, Aya has to be a bit more clever. In order to use not only the vision range but also the long distance to an advantage, she needs to actively use surveillance cameras and traps. If she succeeds in predicting her opponent's move, she can hit enemies at a very long distance with the Sniper skill. As the burst mode effect fades down, she has high chances of losing if she allows her enemies to approach her too close.
  • In contrast, the other two weapons mainly use Double Shot (Q), and the most important thing for the assault rifle is its normal attack that fires by 3 round bursts. For the 3 round bursts to be efficient your movement have to be restricted, but as the cooldown decreases 3 times more thanks to the reduction effect of the Justice (passive) skill, she is able to use it often. Check how many remaining bullets you have and activate the Overheat skill, you can experience powerful firepower.
  • Steady Shot (W) is a powerful skill but it is hard to hit a target with it. But you can also use it when you want to shake off an enemy by shooting in its direction while walking backwards, or by shooting at a bush you want to go in to make sure it's empty.
  • The cooldown of the Blank Cartridge (R) skill decreases greatly as you level up. When you use Blank Cartridge to attack, make the enemy stop with a blank cartridge and then use Steady Shot (W) to hit the target.

[Patch note] 2nd Alpha Test

Hello! This is Nimble Neuron!
We prepared the game patch note for the 2nd alpha test.
BS:ER is now under development.
Various things will change in the future.
We hope you enjoy game more by this patch note.

[1. Character]
    New character: Magnus

  • Magnus is coming to BS:ER with various skills, including 17 vs 1 and the new "Bike From Hell".
  • Tough Body (passive skill): Magnus' defense power increases in proportion to his decreased HP. His defense increases by 0.4/0.7/1.0% for every 1% of HP lost.
  • Broken Bullet (Q): If you use the Q skill, Magnus smashes the ground, throwing a rock that deals 80/140/200/260/320 (+0.6 of attack power) damage to others. Targets hit by the rock see their movement speed decreased by 42/54/66/78/90%, which will recover slowly over time. (18/17/16/15/14 seconds cooldown).
  • 17 vs 1 (W): Magnus swings his weapon for 4 seconds when you use the W skill, dealing 20/25/30/35/40 (+0.4 of defense) (+0.3 of attack power) damage to his surroundings 6/7/8/9/10 times. The enemies that cannot move because of the 17 vs 1 skill receive 50% times more damage (10 seconds cooldown).
  • Heavy Strike (E): When using Heavy Strike, Magnus strikes the enemy, dealing 110/180/250/320/390 (+0.6 of attack power) damage to him and sending him flying 4m to Magnus' left. If the enemy hits a wall, he stunned for 2 seconds (12/11/10/9/8 seconds cooldown).
  • Bike from Hell (R): Magnus summons the bike he rides as the biker gang leader and rides it for 7/9/11 seconds. You can choose the direction in which to move while riding the bike, and if you use the skill once more Magnus throws the bike in front of him and escapes. If the bike hits an enemy, a wild animal or a wall, it explodes and deals 400/700/1000 (+2.0 of attack power) damage to all surroundings. (60/50/40 seconds cooldown).
    Other character's skill changes.
    Jackie
  • Bloodfest's (passive skill) attack power range has been increased.
  • Adrenaline burst's (W) amount of recovery per attack has been increased, and the attack power coefficient has been reduced.
    Hyunwoo
  • First Attack (E):defense is added (+1.0 of defense) for every damage done, and the enemy's defense decreases when directly hit.
  • Bluff's (W)stamina consumption has been drastically reduced.
  • Dogfight's (passive skill) amount of recovery has been increased.
    Aya
  • Aya's Justice (passive): for every normal attack, the cool-down decreases by 2 seconds. As the assault rifle's normal attack has 3 round burst, the cool-down decreases 3 times more for every 3 round burst.
  • Blank Cartridge (R): the cool-down increases greatly every time you level up the skill.
[2. Weapon Skill]

Weapon skills are a new 2nd Alpha test feature. You can use each weapon's unique skills by pressing the D key. Every weapon skill can be activated at Mastery Lv7 and Enhanced at Lv14.
    Bladed weapon skills
  • Cloak and Dagger: When using the cloak effect, you become transparent for 1 second and your movement speed increases by 90% The increased movement speed decreases gradually. For 4 seconds, the dagger effect is added to the next normal attack. If you use a normal attack on the enemy when the dagger effect is activated, it moves you behind the enemy and deals critical damage (30 seconds cooldown).
  • Parry: You raise your sword and take a defensive position for 0.75 seconds, protecting you from the attacks and effects coming from the front 1 time. If the defense works, you charge towards the enemy that attacked, dealing 2.0/2.5 of attack power damage to all enemies in your path (30 seconds cooldown).
  • Berserk: Every time you use a normal attack on an enemy, you receive 1 Berserk stack (maximum of 5 stacks). For every Berserk stack, your attack power increases by 3%. Your attack power increases in proportion to the Berserk stacks you have. If you use this skill, for 5/7 seconds your attack power increases by 10~25% in proportion to how much HP you have lost for each Berserk stack you have. It can increase by up to 125% (60 seconds cooldown).
  • Dual Sword Rampage: You charge into the chosen direction and deal 0.3/0.5 of attack powerdamage to all enemies in your path 6 times. If you succeed in attacking enemies, you have 5 seconds where you can use the skill one more time (40 seconds cooldown).
    Gun weapon skills
  • Moving Reload: If you use the skill, your movement speed increases by 50% for 1 second while loading ammo. After the skill is off, every skill's cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds except for the passive skills and weapon skills (20/10 seconds cooldown).
  • Overheat: Whenever you strike an enemy with a normal attack, you gain 5 Overheat stacks for each bullet (maximum of 100 stacks). If you do not use a normal attack for 4 seconds, you start losing 10 stacks every 0.5 seconds. When the maximum number of stacks reaches 100, you can use the Overheat skill. When the Overheat effect activates, your attack speed increases by 70% for 5 seconds. When this skill is activated, it ignores the maximum attack speed and adds a knock-back effect to normal attacks (30 seconds cooldown).
  • Sniper: It activates the sniper mode in the chosen direction. In sniper mode, your range of vision increases becomes 20m and your current view angle is narrowed. After choosing the enemies to attack in your sight range, they will be alerted for 1 second that they are in your line of sight before you attack and deal with 2.5 / 3.0 damage to them. If you use the skill again, the sniper mode is lifted. (40/30 seconds cooldown)
    Hand weapon skills
  • Uppercut: When using this skill, the next normal attack's maximum range increases by 0.7m for 5 seconds. When attacking an enemy, it deals 50% additional final damage (10 seconds cooldown).
  • Quick Spin: When you use the skill it blocks the damage coming from all directions for 0.75 seconds and returns damage to the attacking enemy (it doesn't block the effects of the attack) (30 seconds cooldown).
    Blunt weapon skills
  • Full Swing: It deals 2.0/3.0 damage to all enemies in front and knocks them back on 3m. If the knock-back enemies hit a wall, they get stunned for 1 second (30 seconds cooldown).
  • Armor Piercing: You smash the hammer in the chosen direction, dealing 100 (+1.0/+2.0 Defense) damage and reducing the enemy's defense by 40% for 7 seconds (30 seconds cooldown).
[3. What's new]

Here are the news elements and features you will be able to find in the 2nd Alpha test.
    North America and Europe Server
  • In addition to the Tokyo (Asia) server, an Ohio (North America) and Frankfurt (Europe) servers have been added. You can check each server's schedule in the 2nd Alpha test news.
    Single player mode
  • The single-player mode allows you to try out the game with AI bots before entering the real match.
    Quick Cast
  • You can now turn quick cast on and off as you wish. Quickcast allows you to use skills faster without going through the skill guides.
    Collecting
  • Fishing and potato harvesting have now been added.
    Brush
  • New concealment features have appeared: you can now hide in brushed and plan ambushes.
    Restrict Area
  • Your HP does not decrease anymore while in restricted areas. Instead, a timer appears above the character's head. You have 30 seconds to get out or explode.
    Minimap
  • You can get more information by looking at the minimap. The following elements are now indicated: crafting completed, combat with an enemy or wild animal, open boxes, air supplies, and collected resources.
    Day and Night
  • There is now a day and night feature. You can see what time of the day it is and how many days have passed at the top of the screen. At night, wild animals can attack automatically and your vision range decreases.
Mastery
    Hunting mastery
  • The regen mastery has been deleted, and a hunting mastery has been added instead.
  • Your mastery increases when you deal damage to wild animals, kill the wild animals or when you receive damage from wild animals.
  • The damage you deal to wild animals increases by 4% for each hunting level you gain, making it easier to hunt.
    Crafting mastery bonus
  • Now the effect of the item you crafted increases by 1% for every crafting level you have.
Movement speed while not in combat
  • When you do not fight for more than 4 seconds, you are considered "not in combat".
  • You get 0.01 of movement speed and 0.04 of movement speed "while not in combat" for each movement level you have.
  • You can also gain movement speed while not in combat by crafting items such as Chinese Opera Mask, Maverick Runner, and Glacial Shoes.
Gun loading
  • The gun weapons use reloading, the pistol has 6 bullets, the assault rifle has 30 bullets, and the sniper rifle has between 1 to 3 bullets depending on the gun type. When you run out of ammo, it automatically reloads itself
every 1 second, and you cannot use normal attacks when you have 0 bullets.

[4. Bug Fixes and improvement]

The following elements have been improved or fixed following the feedback received during the 1st Alpha test.
    Bug fixes
  • Wild animals automatic attack fixed. Your character does not attack automatically anymore. However, wolfs and bears attack characters that approach them too close at night.
  • Character's effects are not visible anymore when in the fog.
    Gameplay
  • The number of restricted areas increases in proportion to the number of survivors remaining. The number of air supplies also decreases accordingly.
  • The number of available food on Lumia Island has been reduced to simplify crafting.
  • The overall mastery related to crafting has decreased, the hunting mastery has been added, so it will be different from the 1st Alpha test where people could level up their crafting mastery like crazy from the start.
    UI
  • Crafting has been made easier and faster. You now have a shortcut icon that appears above your inventory and allows you to craft the items directly when available. You don't have to open the crafting window anymore.
  • You can now research each item option in the crafting window.
  • The entrance of each area is indicated on the mini-map and there is a clearer demarcation between each area.
  • The kill information system has been improved. The killed player is now indicated clearly.
  • The skill guide system has been improved to fit the game design a bit more.
  • In case of reusing the same food or beverage item, once the effect of the first ends, the effect of the seconds will start automatically.
  • A siren announces the change of restricted area 20 seconds before.
  • It is now a bit easier to click on items or corpses that lie on the floor.
  • 25 item icons have been added.
    Visual Arts

  • A lot of visual art aspects such as characters, background, effects, animations, etc. have been improved.
  • Especially the quality of the ground and roads that has been the main focus of work, making it very different from the one that appeared in the 1st Alpha test.
  • But please keep in mind that the game is still in its early development phase and there still are a lot to improve until the official release.

introducing GUN WEAPON SKILLS

Hello, this is GM_TempuraUdon.

There is not even 3 days left until the 2nd Alpha test!

We are recruiting alpha testers until the day of the test, so fill out the form by clicking on this link if you haven't applied yet!

Today we will introduce gun weapon skills, which Aya uses the most.

The gun weapons have a loading system. If you run out of ammo, it reloads itself for 1 second.
You can manually reload by pressing the F key.
Unlike Black Survival on mobile, you don't have to pick up ammunition.
But the advantage of long-distance will slightly be balanced by other elements.

The loading system will have different meanings for each gun.
For example, the sniper rifle will have a small magazine, while it will be relatively bigger for the assault rifle.

Pistol > Moving Reload

If you use the skill, your movement speed increases for a moment while loading ammo.
After the skill is off, every skill's cooldown is reduced, except for the passive skills and weapon skills.

In real life, you need a proper posture to use a pistol, but it is different in movies, where the pistol scenes are set up to look fancy.
If you use "Moving reload" increases movement speed and reduces cooldown with the pistol, you will be able to move a lot more freely.

Try to move dynamically by using Aya's 'Moving turn' - 'Moving Reload' - "Moving turn" in 2 or 3 seconds!

Assault Rifle > Overheat

Whenever you strike an enemy with a normal attack, you gain Overheat stacks. If you do not use a normal attack for a certain time, you start losing stacks.
When the maximum number of stacks is reached, you can use the Overheat skill.
When the Overheat effect activates, your attack speed increases.
When this skill is activated, it ignores the maximum attack speed and adds a knockback effect to normal attacks.

In real life, the assault rifle is a versatile weapon, but we tried to focus it more on its full-auto mode.
With "Overheat", you can plan an attack that the enemy would not anticipate thanks to the explosive full-auto mode.

Sniper Rifle > Sniper

It activates the sniper mode in the chosen direction.
In sniper mode, your range of vision increases and your current view angle is narrowed.
After choosing the enemies to attack in your sight range, they will be alerted that they are in your line of sight before you attack and deal damage to them.
If you use the skill again, the sniper mode is lifted.

The sniper rifle is the ultimate long-range weapon.
Players that can handle the sniper rifle well will be able to lie down and use the "sniper mode" to attack from a distance.
Of course, instead of having a close-up and long-distance vision in sniper mode, the vision range of your surroundings will be reduced. Look out for snipers on the long roads!

This is all the weapon skills you will be able to find in the 2nd Alpha test.
What weapon to do you want to use the most? :)

That's it for today's news! I will see you in the next one.
Please everyone, 'survive' until then!

Let there be glory to the pawns who reach the end of despair!

Learn more about the blunt weapon skills!

Hello, this is GM_TempuraUdon.

There is not even a week left until the 2nd Alpha test!
We are recruiting alpha testers until the day of the test, so fill out the form by clicking on this link if you haven't applied yet!

Today we will introduce two kinds of blunt weapon skills.

You can use the weapon skill by pressing the D key once you obtain mastery level 7, and it is enhanced if you achieve mastery level 14.
For more detailed information about the weapon skills, please check the previous piece of news about bladed weapon skills.

Hammer > Armor piercing

You smash the hammer in the chosen direction, dealing damage and reducing the enemy's
defense power for a moment.

With "Armor piercing", the new hammer weapon partially neutralizes the enemy's defense power.
As the defense power goes down, all damage taken increases. If combined properly with other skills, this weapon skill can have dreadful effects.

Bat > Full Swing

It deals damage to all enemies in front and knocks them back.
If the knock-back enemies hit a wall, they faint for a moment.

The bat can knock back enemies. That's right. The knockback effect gives the bat,
which is mostly used for close range attacks, a good escape option.
But the situation changes if the enemy hits a wall after receiving the knockback effect.
The enemy will faint, and will probably be hit without a break with other skills.

Today we talked mainly about blunt weapons, which will be used by Magnus.

I will come back next time with more information about gun weapon skills.
Please everyone, 'survive' until then!

Let there be glory to the pawns who reached the end of despair!

Find out more about the hand weapon skills!

Glove > Uppercut

When using this skill, the next normal attack's maximum range increases for a moment.
When attacking an enemy, it deals additional damage along with normal damage.

The glove is a weapon that has a fast attack speed. But its weakness is the short range it has.
"Uppercut" counters that weakness and allows you to avoid the standard delay while giving a rhythm to your attacks.

Tonfa > Quick Spin

When you use the skill it blocks the damage coming from all directions for a moment,
and returns damage to the attacking enemy (it doesn't block the effects of the attack).

The tonfa is the most defensive weapon.
It doesn't have a high attack power but with "Quick Spin" you can try to return the attacks
to the enemy.

As today is about hand weapons, it is mainly about weapons that Hyunwoo will use.
I will come back next time with more information about weapon skills.
