Weekly update #95

  • Income taxation has been added. All tax goes to the player to spend with the merchant or the docks.

  • I spent most of the week testing unreal engine 5 (early access), preparing new environments, testing nanite, lumen and figuring out a few issues.

  • Improved nighttime system.

  • Improved archer system.

  • Improved tanner system.

  • Fixed enemy blocking the camera.

  • Fixed movement speed changed by the past task in some circumstances.

  • Fixed issue with the market merchant.

  • Fixed multiple issues with the hunter.

  • Fixed issue with the blacksmith.

  • Unhappy or drunk villagers may cause arson.

  • Improve fire system to allow all people to put out fires, not just labourers.

  • Add fights between villagers can result in death caused by unhappiness or drunkness.

  • Law limiting alcohol consumption allows people to drink but not so much that they get drunk and rowdy, which will mean less happiness.

  • Improve accuracy of movement lines.

Weekly update #94

[h3]This weeks update:[/h3]



  • Fisherman's hut now automatically sets the nearest fishing location when built, can still be manually set.

  • Added a new law to enable or disable daily breaks.



  • Population amount has been split into two numbers, Adults left and children right.



  • Children are now more likely to receive the same traits as their parents.

  • villagers can go to church or visit the tavern during their daily break.

  • The poor who cannot buy food will attempt to steal from homes during the night.

  • Improved anchoring for resource hud.

  • Improved graveyard navigation.

  • Reduced the cost of searching for the nearest tavern.

  • Reduced the cost of searching for the nearest church.

  • Fixed issue with fisherman.

  • Fixed wheat speed issue causing it to be grabbed too quickly.

  • Fixed tutorial not disappearing.

  • Fixed mine cancellation not working.

  • Fixed path cancellation not working.

  • Fixed unbuilt paths being saved (When building paths, manually saving or autosaving would save unfinished paths).

  • Fixed trait translation.

  • Income improvements.

  • Have soldiers act like town guards looking out for villagers trying to steal.

Weekly update #93

[h3]This weeks update:[/h3]



  • Villagers now have traits that affect their health, speed, intelligence and fighting ability. There are 13 different traits, positive and negative. Each villager can have a maximum of 3 traits.





  • Villagers will take breaks once per day to eat some food, go for a walk or use an outhouse.

  • Improved free time cancellation.

  • Improved outhouse search cost.

  • Improved night-time roaming.

  • Improved performance from the animal system slightly.

  • Fixed multiple issues with labourers.

  • Fixed wrong text showing for harvesting animal.

  • Fixed issues with villager hud.

  • Fixed issue with bandit camp destruction.

  • Fixed issue with highlighting animals.

  • Fixed issue with walk speed calculations.

  • Can visit a church in their break.

Weekly update #92

[h3]This weeks update:[/h3]



  • Added a new encyclopedia entry for jobs, provides more info for most jobs, currently half of the jobs done.

  • Bird movement and animation is now affected by game speed.

  • Hover info for tools now displays to the left to avoid the text going off the screen.

  • Improved worker hunting animation timings.

  • Improved cemetery navigation.

  • Adjusted building menu anchoring.

  • Fixed cobbler being unable to create basic shoes.

  • Fixed issue with the cemetery.

  • Will start to add stats and traits that affect things such as movement speed, work speed, intelligence and fighting. Traits can be inherited.

  • People will take breaks throughout the day.

  • Set fisherman work location when constructing the building.

  • Chandlery has been added. This will allow the creation of candles using animal fat. Candles can then be bought to provide happiness.





  • Improved worker hunting.

  • Improved pasture worker gate usage.

  • Herbalist is now affected by the weather.

  • Save and load improved for gates.

  • Balanced firewood usage.

  • Fixed issue with stonemason and lumber mill.

  • Fixed worker hunting.

  • Fixed an issue that caused bows to disappear and hunting animations to cancel.

  • Fixed store arrow enable/disable button.

  • Fixed issue with arrows save and load.

  • Fixed issue with fletcher placement snapping.

  • Fixed building issue with fletcher.

  • Fixed cold icon not disappearing.

  • Fixed a few menu issues.
