Weekly update #40

This weeks update:

Added snow visuals to all buildings, trees, paths and fields.





Updated engine to the newest version, this has caused a larger steam update than usual.

Reduced game size from 3.5 to 2.3 GB.

Added slider for max animals, can be reduced to increase performance.

Improved system for removing people and animals who are not visually in sight, this has given a good CPU performance boost.

Villagers, soldiers and archers can now attack enemy buildings. This does not fully remove the enemy village just yet, they will slowly rebuild.

Improved GPU performance of cemetery walls, orchard trees, tannery and watchtower.

Fixed a load issue for temperature, once loaded every game used to start with April temps.

Fixed gatherers sometimes not removing items from the world when collecting.


Next week:

Bandits are almost done.

Add wolf, boar and bear.

Fix issues with hunters standing around.

Improved job reassignments.

Weekly update #39

This weeks update:

Fixed huge performance issue with the animal spawner, on ever load all saved animals would be spawned along with a fresh batch of animals being spawned. This meant that some games had possibly 1k animals or more, the issue has been fixed and any animals over the limit is killed off on load.

Added watchtower, you can assign 1 archer to each watchtower.





Added what people are currently doing to their npc hud, this is basic information such as idle, roaming, stuck, carrying goods, dead, fighting, grabbing food, drinking and quite a few more.

Fixed gatherers items from spawning on or in buildings or floating on farms.

Reduced the angle that you can build on from 25 to 10 degrees.

Fixed food collection system, there was some math failing preventing the building from thinking it needed to be filled up.

Fixed family system to correctly save and load.

Only highlight adult when drag selecting.

Reset animations for soldiers and archers.

Stopped animals from walking in the ocean.

Fixed tanner showing last years production rather than this years.

Fixed 1 frame lagging every second.

Fixed issue with hunting hut ring.

Fixed slight issue with enemies task getting broken when fighting.

Reduced cost of animal spawner and counter.

Improved cost of house check.

Improved performance of coal and copper lod's.

Fixed performance issue with mills trying to update area navigation constantly.

Fixed performance issue with logs being dropped.

Disabled all peoples items from affecting navigation.

Fixed game setting sliders not saving info.

Autosave no longer happens if the game is paused.

Smoothed loading slightly.

Fixed tannery plot hud name, refund amount and docks refund amount.

Disabled decals on graveyard walls.


Next week:

Update to the next version of ue4, failed to do so this week as not all of the needed plugins had a new version ready.

Bandits.

Defeat possible for when all people are killed.

More bug fixed and performance improvments.

Add setting to set max animals for those who would prefer better performance.

Weekly update #38

This weeks update:

Fixed movement issue where people, animals or enemies off screen would skip their target location slightly and get suck in a movement loop.

Fixed issue with wall placement now gives accurate locking.



Added archer, can be recruited at barracks.



Fixed fighting issue where people would move back to their set location mid fight.

Fixed order of archer animations on hunter.

Fixed bow position was being attached to wrong hand.

Added buttons on npc hud to cycle through.

Added new movement system to all jobs gives better cancelation and navigation checks.

People now space slightly when moving to commanded target location.

Move icon visible at night.

Improved culling.

Fixed issue where some saves would crash on load.

Fixed issue with buildings sometimes not getting built.

Fixed slight issue with mill, healer, tavern and tanner.

Added animation for orchard picking.

Improved camera movement smoothing.

Updated oceanology.

Changed wall collision to only be active once built.

Changed visuals of bottom left game speed.

Fixed building plot hud progress.

Improved camera follow smoothing.

This weeks update:


Added people drag select to give movement orders, in need of spacing out at target location.



Added option to upgrade wall to gate.



Added more construction only school left to be added.





Added ocean sound when zoomed in and close.

Improved enemy movement and fighting.

Enemies target walls and gates better.

Improved movement system.

Changed plot navigation and collision.

Changed wall collision.

Disabled lens flare and removed from graphical settings.

Improved brewery LOD.

Added policy interaction sound.

Animals are spawned further away from the ocean.

Fixed animals not respawning.

Fixed animal spawn on large map also increased spawn amount and range.

Fixed stockpile issue with wall destruction.

Weekly update #36

This weeks update:

Added more step by step construction only a few buildings left.

Added new construction speed for buildings.







Added option to disable snow and rainfall.

Changed snow build up and melt speed, snow should now always disappear in march or before.

Increased snow update frequency giving a smoother transition.

Enemies now group up before attacking.

Added attack notification when attack commences.

Added the ability to hold down the plus and minus buttons on dock hud, +5 and -5 have been removed.

Laborers will now go for the nearest logs not just prioritizing rocks and trees.

Added icon highlight to stockpile.

Fixed navigation issue on medium map.

Fixed minus pear issue.

Changed first enemy attack to come later.

Improved worker movement and fixed a few issues.

Fixed some villagers failing to spawn on load essentially dying.

Fixed multiple dock issues.

Fixed starving numbers not lowering.

Added small tool tip when hovering over population icon.
