Update 1.44 Patch Notes

Custom Map SDK v1.1.2 (January 25)
  • Added the MapLoadedTrigger, TimeTrialStartedTrigger, and TimeTrialFinishedTrigger
  • Added SMG Damage, Double Barrel Damage, and Knockback Multiplier to the match setting overrides
  • Added many new components to the whitelist

1.44.3 (December 21)
  • Fixed a bug where when you died to a double barrel, it would not display the icon and some UI would get messed up.
  • Made the player apply jump force in the local up direction instead of the world up direction. This doesn't change the game at all, but allows for upside-down players to jump on custom maps.

New Gun: Double Barrel

New Gun: Double Barrel

The Double Barrel is a close range, high damage weapon. Perfect for executing a player in close quarters or making a quick getaway with its knockback boost. Left click for a medium damage, highly accurate shot. Right click for an extremely high damage but inaccurate blast which will send you flying. You can equip it in the Loadouts menu at level 25 or higher.

  • Pull out time: 0.4s
  • Firerate: As fast as you can click, up to 33/s
  • Reload time: 1.33s
  • Magazine size: 2
  • Damage: 90 (Primary), 270 (Secondary)
  • Knockback: 2.5m/s (Primary), 9.5m/s (Secondary)
  • Damage Falloff: 1x until 15m, then decreases until 0.2x damage at 30m

This is the first gun to introduce damage falloff. I wanted a way to cement the intended range of guns without relying on random bullet spread, which has proved an inconsistent and annoying way of regulating distance. However, I think damage falloff is in many cases a frustrating tool which discourages the use of weapons at longer distances, so there is a balance to be struck. For the time being I won't be adding it to anything except shotguns. The Shotgun has also had damage falloff added in this update, with 1x damage until 20m, then decreasing to 0.1x damage at 70m.

And yes, you can use it in time trials. Have fun!

  • Fixed a bug where when respawning, the crosshair would flash at the center of the screen for 1 frame
  • Reduced the random pitch amount of the SMG and Revolver reload sounds

  • Removed the "Disable Anti-Cheat" option from match creation, as it was unintuitive that it only disabled peer anti-cheat enforcement and not the anti-cheat itself

1.43.9 (October 8)
  • Normally, matches kick players with pirated DLC, but in the case of Supporter Edition it would kick you if you pirated the DLC even if you did not use any of the perks. Some players have software on their computer that automatically pirates DLC, which was making them get kicked even if they hadn't intentionally used any Supporter Edition perks. This has been changed to only kick pirating players if they use a Supporter Edition perk.

  • Fixed a bug introduced in the last update where the Speed Demon achievement checked the gold times for the wrong Steam account (because I was testing it on one guy). Silly me

  • Increased the maximum size of GIF custom skins and banners from 3mb to 6mb.
  • Fixed a bug in King of the Hill introduced in 1.43.4 where the objective rotated instantly
  • Fixed a bug where the Speed Demon achievement had the Pillars gold time set to 27 seconds instead of 30
  • Fixed a bug where the Speed Demon achievement didn't work properly (it compared your time on the time trial you just completed to the other time trials' gold times instead of the other time trials to their own gold times)

  • Made changes to time synchronization to reduce issues with players not being able to be dealt damage due to the bullet lifespan.
1.43.3 (September 6)
  • In Redmatch 2 when players lag they often "save up" damage and then release it all at once when they reconnect, dealing damage to players later in the game when they are nowhere near them. Now, bullets expire after 15 seconds, meaning this shouldn't be as much of an issue anymore. I will be tweaking the value as time goes on.

  • Attempted to fix an issue that affected one player where occasionally they wouldn't be able to interact with the menu after loading into the game.

  • Fixed an issue on Pillars where upgrade cabinets had their sounds play from different locations.

  • Fixed a UI issue where Enforcer wouldn't display the correct loading percent after about 10 seconds of loading.

1.42.4 (September 1)
  • Improvements to Enforcer.


1.42.3 (September 1)
  • Fixed an issue where the Selfie Stick icon appeared low resolution.
  • Removed the "Saved photo" chat message when you use the Selfie Stick, as it is now redundant due to the Steam screenshot notification.
  • Chat messages copied with Redmatch 2 emoji will now properly contain the emoji.
  • Redmatch 2 emoji will now autocomplete if you press Tab while typing one.
  • Fixed an issue where the Selfie Stick could be used by alts on computers without Supporter Edition.
  • Fixed an issue where the Anti-Cheat screen could get stuck loading to 90%.
  • Fixed an issue where the Rugbug Redfern logo didn't appear during the authorization phase of startup.


1.42.2 (August 29)
  • Photos with the Selfie Stick now save to your Steam Screenshots. When you share the Screenshot on Steam, the "Users in this screenshot" section will include players who were in the frame when the photo was taken.
  • Enforcer Anti-Cheat has been re-activated. However, it is dormant to verify stability and performance. Proton support has been tested and verified for Proton GE and Proton Experimental. No bans will be issued.
