Update 1.28

Hello everyone,

welcome to the new players who discovered the game during the steam summer sale and encouraged its development.

Without further delay lets dive into this small update.


Version 1.28:


Tweaks section:
New animation and new methods to spawn red cells and other elements from the artery entrances. This immersive tweak adds a little more decor cells floating around in the bloodstream and may catch your gaze.

In fact, you will definitely detect the streams of red blood cells in the level (Yes, you did before, but now it is better), thus helping you trace back the source of needed hormones to replenish your nanobot.

As you may be grateful for that matter now, you will appreciate it much more in the future as new components will be added to the stream. (Surprise, surprise, shhh... did somebody say the word "vaci..."?)



Bug squish section:
Corrected the fading transition when leaving bonus levels in a single player game.



New Stuff section:
A new challenge level is present when you reach the 16th year of play. This challenge might be difficult to some of you, so we wary not to lose your nanobot and end the game.

Update 1.27

Hello everyone,

Update 1.27 is now available and brings you 2 more challenges, new mechanic, some improvements, new features and a new enemy.



Here are the fantastic details of version 1.27 :

Tweaks section:
- Replaced a method for the player's movement that increases performance.

- Changed the sequence of challenge level appearance from 5 to 4 levels of play. A total of three challenge levels are available and set in a certain order of appearance, but they will be randomly chosen beyond the 12th level.

- White cells move a little faster toward known enemies.

- Tetani bacteria now become white when defeated and has a probability to move a little faster.

- Botulinum bacteria are more resistant with a higher detection range, making them a little more dangerous.

- Klebsiella bacteria are also more resistant.

- 15 initial Tetani bacteria will spawn at first level.

- The chance of possible other biologic menace is raised from 20% to 25%.



Bug squish section:
None, they are probably hiding very well for now ;)



New Stuff section:
-Nanobot is now affected by the bloodstream and to compensate the forces affecting it, nanobot benefits of a little more speed and power of thrust.

-A new challenge mode with some Streptococcus bacteria by reaching the 8th wave (year).

-By reaching the 12th wave (year), you will also access a new challenge mode with some alcohol components.

-New information scenes concerning the streptococcus bacteria and alcohol components can be seen (randomly appearing) before the scoring and statistic scene.



This sums it up for now, as always, I thank you for your support and enjoy the game.

Hot Fix 1.26d

Hot fix 1.26d:
-The new challenge level in coop play would not end unless the timer was over, even though both nanobots left the area or were out of service.

-With the latest fix for the blue hormone, the nanobot's status validation changed and required modification that was not correctly implemented in the game.

Hello nanobot pilot,

The days became weeks but update 1.26 is here.

What happened to update 1.25 ?
A minor bug in 1.25 got me unsatisfied, and I knew I would rework some code in update 1.26 anyway, so I postpone the release of 1.25.

So here is update 1.26 !

Version 1.26:
The new scoring methods are here and will contribute largely to the future updates and development of the game. Thus completing the 2nd part of the refurbished scoring section previously announced.

Introducing the 1st and surely not the last, of coming challenges for the current gameplay.
New scenes, new challenge level, new music, and new bonus score. And YES, all playable in coop.


Tweaks section:
-Maximum of spawning Tetani is fixed for the 20th year and beyond. You can (with luck) get over this huge milestone and continue for your best score (of all time).

-More generous "bonus" score depending on your weapon efficiency. The more you hit those pesky virus or bacteria and the more you avoid any hits on the organism, the better your bonus will be.

-More points if you activated the COVID-19 menace or other possible dangers, even better results if you defeated any of them. Now represented on score scene after each level (game year).

-Speaking of points, let me remind you, that if you ever want to test your skills, choosing a harder difficulty level also raises the points earned.

-And more points if you complete the level with speed since nanobot is based on defeating the organic menace on a certain time frame. Can you surpass the basic "nanobotic" efficiency and the engineer's predictions ?


Bug squish section:
-Corrected the miscalculation of damage to the organism with the subsonic mines
-Corrected the stutter effect coming from certain particles during game session.
-Corrected the shaded method after the instruction scene page:2
-Corrected performance of loading scenes.
-Corrected the energy discharge to better acknowledge enemies in the area of discharge.
-Corrected the capture of blue hormones though the nanobot was out of service.


New Stuff section:
New challenge level to face each time the player reaches a milestone of 5 levels (5-10-15-20-25...) (1 challenge for now, but many more coming).
New challenge bonus score added to the player's score by completing the challenge level.

Update 1.24 - Scoring and information scenes - 1st phase.

Hello everyone,

I want to thank the new owners of the game that took advantage of the Steam "remote play together" event.
Your interests, suggestions, comments and feedback about the game are always welcome. The steam forum is a nice cooperative board, or you can also, reach me on twitter via @arcadeessence.

Depending on every day life management, I will read and reply or exchange with you guys.


So enough of the "chit chat bla bla" !
Where is the game going to ?

This main goal is to get the game into full arcade survival fun.

Which requires:
1- New scoring methods.
2- Some new animations or info scenes between levels.
3- Challenges or boss like levels.
4- World leader board and achievements. (I just keep pushing this further down the road, but it will be worth it at the end)


Version 1.24: - Scoring and information scenes - 1st phase.

Tweaks section:
None for this update


Bug squish section:
Corrected a glitch of certain labels on start of level.


New Stuff section:
To get the actual game mode on track for arcade fun, I implemented the scoring for each player on the main scene.
You can track your score while playing and not solely depend on the level completion to witness your success.

The scoring is also being "refurbished".
New methods are slowly getting into the game to acknowledge scoring and calculating bonuses at the level completion. More development is coming this way for that matter.

Speaking of the level completion, from now on, when you reach the artery exit with a success, an informative scene will display before the final scoring scene. The information shown will be of various nature; enemies, general information, human biology, gameplay hints, etc.
There are seven (7) little information scenes that will appear in a random order, for now, but much more will be coming soon.
