The Mighty Update

In our continued effort to make the game more fair and interesting, we proudly present a new card effect, Enemy Might! Enemy might will allow us to create both friendly and enemy cards that increase the stakes of a fight without directly hitting you. We intend to do a lot more with this effect, but for now we made some new enemies and modified some friendly cards. We also did a pass on many friendly cards, mostly on the Trickster, in an effort to balance the game. Here is a short list of some of the changes in this update.

- Enemy Might added to the pool of card effects!
- Many cards on the Trickster that add cards were made slow.
  • Arrow Traps
  • Big Bag
  • Bottomless Bag
  • Distract
  • Jagged Bag
  • Mossy Distillation
  • Stockpile III
  • Trifold

- Several Trickster cards received negative enemy might as an alternative defensive option to dodge and riposte
  • Ridicule
  • Sapping Shiv
  • Sapping Strike
  • Serpent Shade
  • Twist the Blade

- 6 new enemies were created that use enemy might
- Anara's companion quest has 2 new enemies added to it and was rebalanced
- To The Brink, a high stakes card, was added to the Trickster card pool.
- Prepared strike was reduced to common
- Cover Your Tracks is now epic and has been redesigned
- Runescarred Den was moved to common
- Friends in High Places had the energy cost removed and was made epic
- We kissed Kiss of Death goodbye when we removed it from the card pool

That's it for now. We hope you enjoy this update. We believe that this will open up the design space for even more builds and interesting enemy designs. We can't want to see what builds you come up with!

Dec 18th update

Legacy upgrade cards inherit the speed of the base legacy card.
Trickster 7 state applies to Legacy, Companion, and multiclass cards.
Fixed bug with Ravenous Steward fight not starting.
Fixed bug where some normal nodes had elite enemies.
Adjusted fight rewards. Certain rewards like swaps and splits will not appear until later in the run.

Lucky Update

That's right, another update today! In line with the previous update, we are trying to make the game more fair. This update addresses concerns about class abilities. We wanted to make playing the Trickster more fair, so we decided to change the Trickster's ability, Lucky 7. Now, the 7 state will only effect Trickster cards, or cards override by the Trickster's abilities. This means that being at 7 will not double effects from enemy cards, curse cards, legacy cards, or multiclass cards. 7s are just for the Trickster. We hope that this change makes playing the Trickster more fun, and most importantly, more fair.
Also, we changed some other cards with fairness in mind.

- Heavy Swing values were cut in half.
- Bludgeon is now slow.
- Bloated Boa enemy was completely redesigned.
- Fire Breath costs more to keep at level one, but is cheaper to downgrade.
- One with Aether was completely changed

Also fixed a minor issue with the Archive view not being scrollable on some screen resolutions.

Hopefully, this is another step in the right direction. We look forward to hearing your feedback on this update!

Enemy Intent Patch

Our intention from the inception of Mori Carta is to make a deckbuilding game that is tough but fair to the player. We are constantly listening to our players to gauge how fair the game is, and we understand that there are many times in which the RNG feels unfair. We are taking steps to fix this so runs don't end simply with a bad roll. This update is the first step in a series of updates we intend to roll out over the coming months. We hope that this and the following updates will move the game in the direction of being more fair to the player.

This update may seem small, but it should give the player a key piece of information to make strategic decisions.
-When the next card is an enemy card, the card back on the deck at the bottom will show the enemy card back, so players will know that the next card is an enemy card.

Additional updates
-Fixed an issue with localization. Only English should be available now.
-Made Crash, Wreck, and Roil slow. (These mostly appear for the water enemy cards in the prologue. This should make this section of the prologue more predictable.)

Thank you for your patience and feedback. We hope to make Mori Carta as fair and fun as possible, and we couldn't do it without your help.
