"What's Your Name" Update

When you learn an NPC’s name, it replaces their original generic name. For example, “Old man sitting on a bench” becomes “George” if he introduces himself as such. Like most features, this can be toggled off in the event check sliders.

Misc:
  • Fixed a game-breaking bug from the previous update which would fail to read certain saves. The fix is retroactive and should unbreak your broken saves without you doing anything.
  • Actual error message for generic error messages instead of infinite hanging for blue brain
  • Option to globally disable NPC history introduced by previous update if it’s causing you issues
  • Raised story context limit for Sapphire to approximately 2400 tokens

NPC History

Each NPC now has their own history/summary of past interactions which can also be edited in the Edit view and previewed in the Story view. This means in theory the game will remember what you did with them even if you do other things and come back to them many turns later.

All interactions with an NPC will feed into their conversation history which holds the most recent interactions (for which the maximum turns equals your "top-level story turns" in summaryCeption settings).

The game will use the NPC description as well as the NPC history summary whenever you interact with that NPC.

If you haven't interacted with them in the last 2 turns, the current conversation history becomes incorporated into their history summary the next time you interact with them.



Misc: Added nai-diffusion-v3 as an option for NAI image generation. Still didn't make it default because it has a tendency to turn everything including items/locations into people

Unofficial free cloud update

Migrated to an entirely different service for Unofficial Free Cloud, which should hopefully fix most of the issues that were affecting this text gen option earlier.

Fixes for stable horde, kobold horde

  • Fixed issue where image conversion would fail for images downloaded from Stable Horde
  • Fixed kobold horde "2 per 1 second" error by self-throttling requests
  • Added NovelAI image gen model "nai-diffusion-2". Some users have requested this, but I haven't made it the default because it seems to be less accurate for images of objects/items than the original version.
  • Increased retry count for unofficial free cloud to reduce chance of total failure per turn
  • Fixed issue where A1111 or Kobold API url would fail to be parsed if it had a slash at the end

AI Roguelite Full Release

I am happy to announce that AI Roguelite has entered full release, having spent about a year and a half in Early Access. This means I consider the game to be decently playable and stable. Almost all the originally planned features from Early Access have been implemented, plus several extras.

Huge thanks to all Early Access users and participants in the Steam forums and Discord for helping debug issues and making development an enjoyable experience.

Going forward, I will continue to fix high-priority issues that crop up in the game and push small updates. I will also make an effort to continue pushing larger updates with new and exciting features, but can’t make any guarantees about the pacing of these larger updates. I am devoting some of my free time to a highly experimental new game I’m working on (not related to AI) which I’ll announce at some later time if it pans out.
