Devlog #3 - The future of version 0.2

Start

The entire 0.2 version focuses on improving elements of the game that are very poor in quality. The previous huge Perks Update added missing features to the perk system and changed the least intuitive ones. Future updates will be similar in size and improve the clarity of the game.
Everything shown here is of course under development, the final version may differ from now.

[h2]Interface update 0.2.5[/h2]
There are a huge number of boosts/passive abilities in the game that currently display under the health bar, but you can't check what they do. It's the same with character abilities, it displays that it's ready to use, you don't know what's going to happen. This update will focus on the UI and more specifically on adding descriptions where we can.

From this update, all icons on the TAB(inventory) will have descriptions that will show when you hover the mouse.

Characters will have a revised details window describing in more detail all passive and active skills.

Through the UI update, some characters will get changes to make the game easier, e.g. the robot skill “scrap weapons” will be used as a separate skill on E(skill) instead of working on holding F(interaction).

[h2]Dungeon events update [/h2]
This will be a small update to make it easier to unlock characters and add new variants to existing challenges, e.g. The monk challenge will be completely revamped.

There is nothing to add here, a small update that makes it easier to unlock some characters.

[h2]Combat update[/h2]
Changes in opponents and bosses on each floor. Several (2-3) new opponents will be added. The 2nd floor boss and opponents on the 3rd floor will get huge changes.

The biggest change will get the final boss of the game for which there will be a new floor (between the 3rd floor and the final fight) and a completely revamped 2nd and 3rd phase of the fight.

[h3]Improving the price of items[/h3]
Some items in the dungeon are too expensive to experiment with. Reducing the price of legendary weapons and potions should allow for more casual play and generally more interesting runs

[h3]Reconstructing Digital World[/h3]
One of the alternative in the game with which I am not satisfied and will be completely rebuilt visual. Main gimmick (viruses) on the fight will remain, but some may become heavily altered.


[h3]Character information[/h3]
Each character will receive an enhanced information screen with descriptions of all active and passive skills, and unique graphics.


Patch Notes 0.2.4 - Data saves bug fixes

If you have not used a clear savedata, your progress should appear on the corresponding record card.

  • Fixed a serious bug whereby the main menu would not load game saves
  • Fixed a bug whereby the main menu would stop working after finishing run
  • Fixed a bug by which the first button in each selection box was illuminated despite hovering over other buttons
  • Fixed water collisions in the Sunken Ship



Patch Notes 0.2.3 - Bug fixes

[h2]Adjustments[/h2]
  • Fixed a serious bug by which the character's eyes would not open after loading the level (blackscreen)
  • Fixed a major bug with several starting character potions
  • Added missing chain cracking sound for one of the enemies on the chain
  • Fixed a bug whereby the air elemental could not be selected
  • Fixed a bug by which a area close to blacksmith in the Floating City was considered a store
  • Jester can no longer swap a boss for a random opponent
  • Increased the chances of the knight's challenge room appearing on the first floor
  • Fixed the display of outline to several models


[h2]Known Bugs(and being looked for/are being fixed):[/h2]
  • A problem in the Main Menu by which game saves are not loading (if you encounter this error, it is best to reset the game, if the error is still in the game please go to Discord and ping @adi_1 to let me know)
  • Problem with the display of rooms on the minimap (we are currently working on this, a corrected minimap will be added in the near future)
  • The boss room on the 2nd floor has a missing collision, and the fight itself is not clear enough (The bug will be fixed in the future enemies update)

Update 0.2.2 - Improvements of the Perk System.

Perks

From now on, under the description of the perk action, there will be displayed exactly the statistics that will change when the perk is selected.
The mechanics of duplicates and upgrading one perk with copies has always been in the game but was not explained, now everything will be nicely written during the selection of perk


[Changes] Exclusive goods:
  • Now special products cost 30 gold less
  • Each duplicate skill reduces the cost by 30 gold
Exclusive goods has no way to scale beyond duplicates which is why it gets a price reduction from now on


[Changes] Heart of the Gale:
  • The knockback force is the same regardless of the opponent's distance from the player
  • Base damage increased
Knockback did not work intuitively, now you can predict the strength of the knockback every time. I changed the base damage to make the first copy of the perk a more interesting choice under dealing damage


[Changes] Special invitation:
  • Now each duplicate creates a new merchant in the City Among the Clouds (up to a maximum of 3 merchants)
  • It has a chance to create a portal that grows with the player's luck and each duplicate perk
Now the entire location scales with duplicates of one perk.In return, there is no guarantee that the portal will appear right away. Thanks to this change, the City Among the Clouds can still be a powerful location that changes the run completely without spoiling the balance of the game.


[Changes] Fire elemental:
  • Now it doesn't randomly attack opponents
  • Increased % health to activate executions
  • After the execution, he sets fire to nearby enemies
Before the update, this elemental was one of the weakest epic perk simply because it acted too randomly. After this change, it has a clear way of acting so you can use its mechanics to the fullest


[Changes] Sale:
  • Now the discount scales with the number of duplicates
Now you can catch a huge discount on all items in the store


[Changes] Stone elemental:
  • Works independently of the player
  • Can eat potions from the store
  • For every potion consumed, it gives armor for the player
The previous way of doing things was completely overcomplicated. Now it opens up a new way of playing 'shoplifting' and adds an alternative way to maintain health by generating armor from taken potions

Other
  • statistics now have added characters such as: '%' 'x' 's'
  • changed the location of the Discord button in the Main Menu
  • new effect for the book with the choice of characters in the bar
  • a bug has been fixed through which electric small slime could not be defeated
  • trampolines in the Sunken Ship have been repaired
  • 0.2 perks prices corrected
  • added missing opponents to 2nd floor room
  • Moon: a bug has been fixed by which the moon mark did not appear a second time
  • The passage to the Sunken Ship has been changed
  • Added missing weapon icons

Patch Notes 0.2.1 - Bug Fixes

General:
  • Increased range of vision
  • Added collision and obstacle blocking side roads in Tutorial.
  • Fixed nerd princess collisions
  • Added animations for the dwarf blacksmith.
  • Added icons for some NPCs.
  • Bombs that deal damage to enemies and player now correctly scale in volume
  • Added button with link to Discord server in main menu


Enemies:
  • Boombots have longer explosion animations
  • Fixed a bug that made it impossible to hit a steel boombot.
  • Fixed a bug where the opponent on the chain on the 1st floor couldn't be defeated.


Perks:
  • Soft feather: now each subsequent perk increases the range of action
  • Golden statue: now each subsequent perk increases the chances of creating a statue


Weapon modificators:
  • Added missing descriptions to weapon effects
  • Added new icons for weapon effects
  • (Experimental) Changed the way weapon particle effects are created, now the effects will appear more often on the entire weapon and not just around the hand
  • Eclipse: fixed a bug that crashed the game if an opponent was defeated in one hit




[h2]Whats next[/h2]
There are many unexplained mechanics in the game that are super interesting. That's why during 0.2.x we will introduce many improvements that will make the mechanics more clear.
