Update notes for 0.2.0

[h3]Hej hej! It is Wednesday, mina grodor![/h3]

When some items reach their max level they get better the more bugs you have eaten in the current chapter, in this update we change that to being based on the bugs you ate during the whole run!
With this we also changed the numbers a bit, the item stat increase is a bit lower for each eaten bug but in the end it has the potential to be much stronger than before since it is based on the total amount of eaten bugs.

Please let us know what you think about this change! :)

Changes:
  • Items that scale with score (bugs eaten) on their top level now scale based on the total score instead of each chapters score
  • The score in the top right is now displaying the runs total score instead of the chapters score
  • Symbols for life and score has been added in descriptions for level ups, pickups and in some menus


The last two weeks we have also been working on updating the environment graphics. One thing we want to do is to make the frog swim in the water, here is a preview of how it is looking so far (keep in mind that it is not implemented in the game yet and it is still being worked on).



Also, we decided to use the version number a little differently, so, for no particular reason, we will go to version 0.2.0 (sorry if you got excited about the new number!).

Update notes for 0.1.41

[h3]Hello everyfroggy! It is once again Wednesday, nos grenouilles! [/h3]

In this update we have improved your compass, free of charge, 0 froins! The compass will now show what it is pointing to for all items that you already found.

We also added a new accessibility setting that turns off the flashing colors (that indicates when the bugs get hit and if the frog takes damage). Along with adding that setting we also moved the setting for showing the disclaimer (that pops up when the game starts) to the tab "Other" instead of "Display".

There were also some bugs eaten and other changes, read it all in the list below!

New:
  • After an item has been found in a chapter the compass arrows now show what they lead to
  • Added a setting for turning on or off the flashing colors that indicate damage (found under the "Accessibility" tab)
  • Added a "moral of the story" about refunding everything you bought in shop (it says that you will get ALL the froins spent back)
Changes:
  • Moved the "show disclaimer" setting to the "Other" tab
  • Some small changes to the disclaimer texts at the start of both the demo and the early access version of the game
Bug fixes:
  • The cursor can now hide even if it was never used after starting the game
  • The cursor no longer hides when using the scroll wheel and not moving the mouse
  • The plaster found on the map in "First hops" is no longer a forced pick up

Update notes for 0.1.40

[h3]It is time for another Wednesday update, my dudes![/h3]
This time we have added counters to two quests in the quest book, the quests "It's not the end" and "I'm full", now you can see your progress on those quests. For "It's not the end" we have also added a counter on the Steam achievement with the same name ("I'm full" already had a counter on Steam since some time back). We also fixed some things with the music and turned a hat around! Read about it in the list below :)

New:
  • In the quest book you can now see the progress on the quests "It's not the end" and "I'm full"
  • On Steam you can now see the progress on the achievement "It's not the end"
Change:
  • The dynamic music now always goes down to the lowest tension before the book for choosing a new chapter appears
Bug fixes:
  • The hats that can be picked up in some chapters no longer appear upside down
  • A bug that made the super frog music stay the whole chapter after changing music back and forth has been fixed

Last weekend we were at Poznan Game Arena and showcased the game, we had a froggy time! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, played our game, talked for a bit or was just super excited about frogs, we really appreciate you all!

[h3]It is Wednesday, my tadpoles![/h3]

This update delivers some small quality of life changes to Froguelike. Especially for the new thing that is the cursor now hides after 5 seconds we would love to hear if that is good or not? Is 5 seconds too long? Too short?
And if you have any other small changes that would make the game feel better for you, please let us now! You can reach us here on the Steam forums or on our Discord server, we would love to hear from you!

New:
  • The cursor is now hidden if the mouse is not moved or clicked for 5 seconds
Changes:
  • You can now pause during chapter selection (except for when choosing the first chapter)
  • Improved cursor hotspot (we hope!)
Bug fix:
  • Effects no longer sometimes carry over to the next chapter or run

We hope you have seen many frogs lately (Johanna has not, and she's sad)!

Update notes for 0.1.38

[h3]Heyo, everyfroggy! It is Wednesday![/h3]

This update adds a new type of goal to complete to be able to progress in a storyline, it is the goal to head in a specific direction for a minimum distance. Depending on what the description of the chapter says the direction could be a riddle and the distance could be a secret, that is the case in the chapter "The riddle"!
The description of a chapter could also let you know exactly in what direction to go or how far, we will see how we use this goal in upcoming chapters.

New:
  • A goal for unlocking the next chapter in a storyline can now be to head in a specific direction for a minimum distance
Change:
  • The chapter "The riddle" is using the new direction goal
