Achilles Enters the Battlegrounds of SMITE 2

The legends tell of Achilles, the greatest warrior of the Greeks, whose very name echoes with the glory of battle. He led a thousand ships to Troy, struck down the mighty Hector, and fell only to the treacherous arrow of Paris. But now, in SMITE 2, Achilles has returned—his fury unbound, his legend reborn, and his thirst for battle stronger than ever. The gods have called him back, but Achilles does not kneel—he fights for vengeance.

Reimagined for SMITE 2 – A Deadlier Achilles

Achilles was a formidable warrior in SMITE, boasting a unique blend of adaptability and lethality. In SMITE 2, his combat prowess has been honed to perfection, bringing deeper decision-making and raw power to the battlefield. While his signature ability to don or remove his armor remains, new mechanics enhance his aggressive playstyle, rewarding those who wield him with precision.

Passive: Gift of the Gods

Achilles' defining trait returns: the ability to choose between wearing armor or fighting unburdened. This choice shapes how he battles—armor grants bonus Health and Protections, while forsaking it increases his Strength and Movement Speed. In SMITE 2, this choice feels more meaningful than ever, allowing players to tailor Achilles to their preferred style.

Shield of Achilles

A devastating punch with his shield that damages and stuns enemies in a short cone. Precision is key—strike the right target, and you can disrupt entire engagements, turning the tide of battle.

Radiant Glory

Achilles channels the divine blessing of the gods, granting himself increased Strength, Protections, and Crowd Control Reduction. But in SMITE 2, this ability now offers more than just resilience—each ability hit during its duration heals Achilles, keeping him in the fight longer.

Combat Dodge

The battlefield is Achilles' domain, and he moves through it with deadly efficiency. With Combat Dodge, he quickly evades and retaliates, striking enemies for significant Physical Damage. The ability rewards aggressive positioning and quick reflexes, making Achilles a nightmare for his foes.

Ultimate Ability: Fatal Strike

Prepare for one of the most lethal executions in SMITE 2. Achilles dashes forward, striking down enemies and executing those at low health. Killing a god refreshes the ability, allowing him to chain executions up to five times. With sharper animations and a more visceral impact, Fatal Strike delivers true terror to the battleground.

Aspect of Prowess – A New Way to Play

A warrior is never static, and Achilles now has a new way to define his legend. By choosing the Aspect of Prowess, his Combat Dodge gains a recast when striking Jungle Monsters or Bosses, making him a formidable presence in the jungle. Additionally, if he forgoes armor, his Spear Strike (basic attack) scales even harder, further rewarding risk-taking aggression. However, the cost is steep—Radiant Glory no longer grants protections or crowd control reduction, leaving Achilles more vulnerable to retaliation.

The Return of a Legend

With refined combat mechanics, an emphasis on strategic play, and the triumphant return of his iconic execution, Achilles in SMITE 2 stands as an electrifying warrior with his name etched into history!
Take up your spear. Choose your path. And let the battlegrounds tremble before the wrath of Achilles.
