Race conditions

Race conditions have a direct impact on your team's strategy and car performance. Dynamic weather and time of day affect the track in real time—rain increases the Water on Track level, which reduces tire grip and alters braking behavior. Choosing the right tire compound and timing your pit stops becomes even more important in changing conditions.

Track temperature, air temperature, and tire temperature all play a role in tire performance and degradation. Tires that are too cold or overheated lose grip and wear out faster. Monitoring these values during the race helps you decide when to adjust your pace or make a stop.

All these elements directly influence race strategy. You’ll need to plan your stints, tire choices, and pit timing with greater precision, especially in long-format or multi-stint races. Adaptive strategies will be key to staying competitive in unpredictable conditions.

Car simulation

The Car physic simulation has been significantly improved during Early Access offering a more realistic behaviour of each individual car performance stat.

Each car stat (Acceleration, Top speed, Handling and Tire durability) directly influence how each car performs on every corner and straight lines across different race conditions and circuits. Cars with a greater Acceleration stat now exit out of corners faster, those with a higher Top Speed stat are reaching higher speed in straight lines. Investing in the Tire Duration stat will allow you to extend stints to reduce the number of pit stops required, especially in Endurance races.

In the race, the 3 racing speeds (Preserve, Regular, and Push) now have a more accurate impact on the lap times, tire degradation, fuel consumption and overtaking ability. Selecting the right pace at the right moment is crucial—especially when each circuit has different characteristics that will influence your performance and therefore your strategy. High speed tracks will maximise the benefit of the car Top speed, while lap times will definitely be lower on twisty tracks with a higher Acceleration and Handling stat.

We’ve also added the ability to Setup the car before the Qualifying session to balance the car performance stats according to the circuit characteristics and the race conditions. The Car Setup is divided into 3 sections: The car Chassis, Engine and Aero. The Chassis setup can be balanced to favour cornering over tire wear, the engine setup top speed over torque and the Aero can increase the downforce in exchange for a lower drag reduction.

Drivers Features

During Early Access, we’ve introduced several driver-focused features to emphasize the importance of managing your driver lineup effectively in a motorsport team.

Overtaking mechanics have been improved to reflect the real-world complexity of passing on track. The Driver Overtaking stat now plays a key role—reducing the time needed to overtake and helping you avoid being held up by slower cars. Strategic use of limited Push-to-Pass boosts is also crucial, especially when battling through the midfield.

Endurance racing is less about individual talent and more about assembling the right driver lineup. As drivers complete lap after lap, their Stamina stat gradually decreases, directly affecting their Speed. This dynamic makes Driver Swaps a vital part of long-format races, rewarding well-balanced teams with better overall performance. When selecting your driver crew, it’s also important to factor in their Speed in Dry and Wet conditions, ensuring your team can adapt to changing weather across the race.

Choosing the right driver lineup is a core aspect of team management. In Early Access, we’ve added the ability to recruit and replace drivers mid-season based on your team’s results. As your team earns championship points, more drivers become available for signing. However, keep in mind that switching drivers mid-season comes with a termination fee for breaking an active contract, on top of potentially higher salaries for top-tier talent.
