What's coming? Major Changes in v.0.7 Steam Next Fest Demo Edition

Hello!

Today, I’m excited to share what’s coming in the Hollow Mine v0.7 Steam Next Fest Demo Edition.

Before we start I would like to say to everyone thank you - having a game on Steam Next Fest and preparing it to release was always my dream. It wouldn't be possible without your support people! Thank you all for help by playing, reporting bugs, giving feedback and ideas! Also game evolved like that, because of all this contributions from you. Let's keep it like that!

[h2]Upcoming Features and Changes:[/h2]

Fire Mage Character
Master of the blazing arts, channeling mystical flames to incinerate foes with relentless fire and fury. Character will have increased ability to ignite enemies and damage from burning effect. Also the new Spell Rain of Fire with dealing AOE damage and instantly igniting surrounding enemies will be inside the starting equipment.

To unlock the Fire Mage, blow up 50x enemies using bomb.



Spell Rain of Fire
It's another spell with AOE effect next to Ice Nova Spell. Get close to enemies cast a spell and watch how they receive damage and ignite instantly. Having increase burning damage should work well in combination with this spell. The spell will be available in initial Fire Mage equipment and in Sage's shop, you can find this NPC in mine encampment room.



Knight Character
A heavily armored warrior, expert in close combat, brawling, and deflecting hits. His resilience and mastery of defense make him an unstoppable force on the battlefield.

To unlock the Knight defeat mine biome boss once.



Menu Music Loop
New Menu music loop won't stop, there is a new ambient sound that will play after every main menu theme loop. It should make atmosphere a little bit more enjoyable while waiting to play the game in main menu.

Activate Altar Room Music
While being in the room new music will play increasing the seriousness of the place and significance of the decision player is going to make to activate the artifact - Weles Burden Ring, or not.

SFX Sounds
There will be more variety of SFX sounds available for players to hear during gameplay. Sounds for critical damage, almost breaking weapon or rolling items from the box and more.

Angry Bee Enemy
This enemy will have a way easier style of attack - it fires 4 red bullets instantly in one direction each. It's much more easier enemy, all to make it more fair at the beginning of the game. This enemy can be found in Forest Biome.



Forest Camp Starting Area
Starting area with waypoint, merchant NPC and Kettle Crafting Table for potions was added. It will serve as a initial point to inform a player a bit about the lore and also it will allow new players to onboard into the game more easily.

* - Using waypoint player can teleport back to this area. Another waypoint is inside mine encampment.



Merchant NPC
In order to help with onboarding new Merchant NPC was added to new starting Forest Camp - with items like (cheaper) health potion, bombs, basic blueprints. healthy herb and teleport scroll . Players will be able to use starting coins to buy & decide what suits them the best.

* - Teleport scroll allows to create a portal and come back to waypoint and back to the room once.

Hollow Mine v.0.6

Hello everyone new v.0.6 update for Hollow Mine is here! With next unlock-able Ice Mage character, ice nova spell, UI & UX improvements, major character's rebalancing, font and more!

What's coming? Major Changes in v.0.6 Demo

Hello!
Today, I’m excited to share what’s coming in the Hollow Mine v0.6 demo. Game is reshaping constantly and I am just surprised that recent features changed the game so much. I hope you will also enjoy it.

[h2]Upcoming Features and Changes:[/h2]

New Character: Ice Mage
The Ice Mage is master of the frozen arts, wielding mystical powers to unleash devastating icy forces upon foes. Ice Mage will be able to deal more damage to foes being in frozen or even poisoned state - thanks to new abilities introduced in the game (more below). Character will be a powerful alternative to Mage with Ice Ball Scroll and Ice Nova Spell in initial equipment. Guaranteed abilities that aligns with character also enhances AOE capabilities.

To unlock the Ice Mage, defeat mine biome boss 3x with Mage hero.



Forest and Mine Biome New Decorations
Stones in forest biome and bones in mine biome were added around the room's unreachable area. Improving the visuals is a major factor and still is very important at this stage of development and it will be continued when ever there will be opportunity to do so. I hope you will like this new looks.



New Unique Abilities
  • Ice Arrows - Bow fires arrow projectiles with +20% increased chance to cause freeze effect
  • Reapers Ricochete - When an enemy dies, nearby foes receive damage
  • Deaths Echo - When an enemy dies, your next hit deals double damage
  • Demobilize Enemy - Poisoned or frozen enemies receive +200% increased damage




New Dracula Boss
Boss was included in Mine Biome Bosses pool. It makes it as another demo end boss next to Boruta Royal Devil. Different play style - mostly range and casting spells attacks should bring more variety and give new challenge for a players.



Common Unique Abilities
There are more and more abilities in the game - 30 unique abilities in total! Finding a special combo that aligns with character style is very rare. To prevent that, characters will have higher chance to get abilities that suits them.

New standard Abilities
  • Infernal surge - Increases burning damage (25%/50%/100%)
  • Venom taste - Increases chance (10%/20%/30%) to poison the enemy on hit


Major rebalancing
  • Every weapon damage was adjusted to new average
  • Standard abilities values were increased
  • Overpowered abilities like triple shot, double cast will get reduced damage
  • Mine Biome Bosses health was increased
  • Enemy alert range was increased in combat and survival rooms
  • Bosses and enemy attacks are faster with more transparent animations
  • Some enemies can poison or freeze hero now


Burning, poison and freeze unit state effects
Now enemies and hero once affected by fire, poison or freezing effects will glow in matching color. This should better visualize the current state of the units and bring more cool visuals into the game. (Look above in casting ice nova spell gif how enemies glow light blue)

Enemy short attack red glow
Enemies will have a short red glow during attacks. Thanks to that it will be more transparent when and how damage was received and help to avoid it more easily especially with melee enemies.

New and improved inventory stacking features
Dragging stackable items on top of each other now adds up the stack.



Game over / Victory Screen UI Improvements
Ability to see all the details on ending screen will summarize your runs in more detail. Now you will be able to even share screen shots to other people in our discord community special channel "#score-share" just use in game button to get there.



Extended Player Statistics UIs
Now it will be possible to see all the abilities picked in Player Statistics Panel, it will be really helpful during picking abilities to have a glance on what we already have to make better decisions in creating builds for our heros.
