Beware Eldingar, the Lightning Elemental!

[p]Hey everyone![/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]We’re excited to introduce the newest boss to enter the Divine Plane: Eldingar, the Lightning Elemental.[/p][p]Eldingar now appears at the end of the Lightning elemental area, and while he may be all flash at first glance, don't underestimate what he brings to the battlefield.[/p][p][/p]
Double Jump Strike
[p][/p][p]His opening move is a fast-paced double jump strike, a deadly twist on the Vitriol enemy’s leap attack. Eldingar disappears from the screen, reappears mid-air, and then strikes twice in succession, layering in flashy electric distractions between jumps to throw off your timing.[/p][p][/p]
Lightning Storm
[p][/p][p]When you see clouds gather, get ready to move: Eldingar’s Lightning Storm rains down dozens of strikes across the arena. Dodging becomes a game of prediction, timing, and pure reflex.[/p][p][/p]
Quadra Strike
[p][/p][p]This attack is deceptively simple: four balls of lightning, fired in quick succession, all of which can be parried. It’s designed to give you a bit of a breather compared to his other abilities, but the off-kilter rhythm means you’ll need to study it if you want to consistently parry every bolt.[/p][p][/p]
Power Stomp
[p][/p][p]Eldingar’s ultimate space control move. When he slams the ground, he creates a Lightning zone that follows him around. If you try to Attack or use your Special while he’s close, you’ll likely end up inside the zone, taking damage and applying the Lightning status to yourself.[/p][p]This mechanic punishes reckless aggression and heavily favors players who’ve invested in their Magic stat or know when to back off.[/p][p]Eldingar is now fully implemented in the latest private build, available to streamers, creators, and playtesters (if you're a creator who wants in, let us know!). He’s not in the public demo just yet... but if you're in the loop, he's ready and waiting at the end of the Lightning elemental path.[/p][p]We’re excited to hear how you handle him, and as always, we’re watching your feedback, streams, and chaos with great interest.[/p][p]Thanks for playing,

Meet Mike Sennott, Narrative Designer on Eclipse Breaker

Every rogue needs a reason to fight. In Eclipse Breaker, that reason is Ember... and behind Ember’s story, there's a writer who really loves haunted party members, unfinished save files, and 90s JRPGs.

We’re excited to spotlight Mike Sennott, the narrative designer on Eclipse Breaker, who’s helped shape the emotional core of our time-skipping roguelike. From forgotten friendships to ghostly companions, Mike’s work has brought unexpected heart (and a few existential crises) to the chaos of battle and boss runs.

Recently, Mike sat down with the team at Checkpoint Gaming to talk about his inspirations, his approach to story design, and how he balances big nostalgia with modern storytelling.

Read the full interview: Chatting nostalgia, ’90s RPGs, and more with Eclipse Breaker writer Mike Sennott

If you’ve been curious about the story side of Eclipse Breaker, or want to know how we’re weaving narrative into the roguelike loop, this one’s for you.

Thanks again to Checkpoint for the thoughtful write-up, and to Mike for pouring so much weird and wonderful energy into Ember's world!

Yarrow Joins the Fight and the Constellation Grid is Complete

Hey everyone!

We've got a big update for Eclipse Breaker's progress, featuring a powerful new spirit companion, some insights on our brutal endgame boss, and word on our completed constellation grid with new abilities to unlock.

New Spirit Companion: Yarrow, the Dieselpunk White Mage

When the Reclaimers of Light tried to save the world, she was the party's white mage. After Ember froze, she gave up, and the magic left the world, went out into the desert, and became a dieselpunk mage. She decided that the only way to heal people now is to steal the life essence of your enemy and use it to heal your friend.
 • Yarrow isn’t your typical healer. She siphons enemy life to restore your own!
 • Her passive, Blood Bags, attaches to enemies and lets you heal by dealing damage to them.
 • Her ultimate, Sand Vortex, damages enemies and pops all active Blood Bags at once.

Pair her with the new legendary augment Yarrow’s Sorrow to extend vortex duration, reapply Blood Bags, and dish out massive burst damage when enemies fall.

New Endgame Boss: Solara

Solara, the Sun God, has arrived... and she’s not here to play fair:
 • Every attack critically hits.
 • Parrying no longer cancels her moves.
 • Expect elemental hazards, traps, and spikes between you and victory.
This is your true test of skill. Good luck.

We've been working on her abilities and now have the first four. She will be more complicated than the previous bosses, because we want a satisfying final boss battle. In case you missed it, we created a process/timelapse video of the work getting one of her attacks working. Check it out:

Constellation Grid Fully Implemented

We’ve added 12 new upgrades to the constellation system. Some favorites:
 • Ascendant Ultimate: Meditating now charges your ultimate.
 • Double Action Trigger: Deal bonus damage for attacking the same enemy multiple times.
 • Treacherous Strike: Deal up to 3x more backstab damage at low health.

The full constellation grid is now in place to customize your build and explore new strategies.

Thank you for the incredible support, feedback, and streams. If you’ve enjoyed the demo, please consider leaving a Steam review or telling a friend. It helps a ton!
