Thank you for playing Castle Doombad Classic! We're back with another content & improvements update, and we also have more exciting updates planned for the near future! So stay tuned... and stay evil!!

WHAT'S NEW: [/p][p][/p]
  • [p]The Sparkkin zaps onto the scene! Unlock your sparky Doomkin friend from the Trap Select Screen, and don't forget to check out its new reskins too! [/p]
  • [p]You can now turn on a Speed Timer clock in Roguevenge mode! Enable it from the game settings screen [/p]
  • [p]In Roguevenge, your fastest Night 1 Clear time is now saved as a record, and faster runs will now grant additional points towards your grade [/p]
  • [p]Added a new achievement: Tight Dreadline! Can you clear Roguevenge Night 1 in 11 minutes or less? [/p]
  • [p]5 New Daily Challenges have been added, including challenges involving the Sparkkin [/p]
  • [p]Added 3 New Loomkin Reskins and 1 New Spoil (for Pride Month!) [/p]

  • [p]Fixed an issue where the Baddie Bonuses on your Spoils would sometimes not activate in Classic Mode [/p]
  • [p]Fixed Hero Bots sometimes getting stuck while ascending up ladders [/p]
  • [p]Fixed a Roguevenge floor layout that was creating gaps/holes that could lead outside the castle[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the "Teacher's Pet" Daily Challenge sometimes causing heroes and the special Doomkin to leave the castle/not attack each other[/p]
  • [p]Performed stability update and fixed several errors that could cause game crashes

Updates to Spoils Screen, Spoils Favoriting, Fixes, and more!

Hello, villains! Today we have an update that brings some Quality of Life improvements to the game. Read on to find out more, and thanks as always for playing Castle Doombad!

WHAT'S NEW

  • The Spoils Screen has received numerous updates and improvements, including a new "Active Baddie Bonuses" dynamic list (which you can also tap to shortcut to associated Spoils), Baddie Bonuses now show their Muahaha Slot requirement even when disabled, improvements to the feel of the scroller menu, and several visual organizational changes have also been applied.
  • You can now "favorite" your Spoils with the Black Heart button, located in the top right corner of their description. Favorited Spoils can be accessed with a new filter option on the Spoils Screen.
  • You can now see any trap's complete upgrade list with the new "i" button on the Trap Select Screen, found on the right side of each trap's infobox. (Even traps that you haven't unlocked yet)
  • We have adjusted a few of the randomized castle floor designs that can appear in Roguevenge to be more fair when they are used for the Princess Chamber floor. We have also added several new possible castle floor designs/layouts to Roguevenge.,
  • Added the "Updates" button on the Title Screen, which will allow players to now read these patch notes in-game


BUG FIXES:

  • Fixed the "Obtain 6 traps" scheme sometimes not completing properly in Roguevenge,
  • Fixed the "Build the castle to 10 floors" scheme sometimes not completing properly in Roguevenge,
  • Fixed the "Daily Login Rewards" screen getting stuck at the end of a week and not advancing to the next week for some players,
  • Fixed visual weirdness with the "Third Time's the Harm" Baddie Bonus activation particle effect,
  • Fixed the junk pile and glint progress radial sometimes getting stuck if the player starts to move the camera while it's visible,
  • Fixed several minor localization text mistakes/issues,
  • Performed several performance and stability improvements. We are planning to implement more in the near future.

Medkin, Daily Challenges, and Localization Update!

Hey Steam Villains!

We know it's been awhile, but we're happy to say: we're BACK with a BIG BAD UPDATE for Castle Doombad Classic! This one is packed full of devious delights, including a brand new trap, new control options, new daily challenge mode, localization into 14 different languages, and much more! Read on for full details:

WICKED NEW FEATURES!:
  • You can now pan the camera vertically with your mouse scroll wheel! (A sensitivity setting is also available in the settings screen)
  • The number keys on the keyboard can now be used as a secondary method for selecting traps from the trap shelf
  • New Trap Added: Return of the Medkin (Medic Doomkin)! Keep your other traps and minions healed with the power of... evil love?
  • Daily Challenges are here! Try your evil hand at daily special gameplay modes like Trap Randomizer, Protect the Doomkin, and many more!
  • Daily Login Rewards have also been added! Launch the game for new rewards every day, including unique Spoils! (Your login days don't need to be consecutive!)
  • 24 new Reskins, 14 new Spoils, 6 New Baddie Bonuses, and 10 New Nightmares have been added! Find and collect them all!
  • Castle Doombad is now localized into 14 different languages! You can change the game's language in the settings screen


CHANGES AND IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Roguevenge Mode's balance has been re-tuned (AND includes a few new special guest appearances...)
  • Main Menu navigation has received numerous updates and improvements, including now allowing access to the Traps and Spoils screens from the main menus
  • You can now view your To-Dooms, Schemes, and Achievements outside of stages. This new pop-up menu is accessible from the “trophy button” located in the top left corner of the screen on the main menus and in the Trap Select Screen.
  • Spoils have now been assigned rarity/quality tiers, designated by the color of their name
  • Four fiendish new achievements have been added!


BALANCE ADJUSTMENTS - TRAPS & BADDIE BONUSES:
  • We sent the Troopkin back to basic training, and they’ve undergone a big revamp! As a result, Troopkin rebuild rate and scream cost have been greatly reduced. Their attack power and accuracy were also increased.

  • Doomkins have received a reaction time rework and should now be smarter and more attentive!
  • The Wacky Tube Man and the Laser Shark can now be targeted/attacked by normal heroes and not just dismantlers
  • The Laser Shark must now finish chewing before the laser gets charged (the previous behavior was unintentional)
  • Laser Blaster damage has been increased by 15%
  • The Wacky Tube Man has received a 15% health increase
  • "Cost Control" Baddie Bonus now refunds more screams on use, and requires 2 Muahaha Slots, up from 1
  • "North Polenishment" Baddie Bonus effect increased to 20%, up from 15%
  • "Baddie Berries Cereal" and "Doomkin Painting" spoils now have the new "Doomy Snacks" Baddie Bonus, replacing "Expiration Date" and "More Roomkin" bonuses
  • The "Badlantir" Spoil now has the new "Illuminaughty" bonus, replacing "Pyrofancy"
  • "Very Pointy Throne" and "Gold Pointy Crown" both now have the new "So Pointy" bonus, replacing "Scarefying" and "Diescount"
  • "Bone Throne" now has the new "That Poison" bonus, replacing "Diescount"
  • "Green Wall" now has the new "Lean Green" Baddie Bonus, replacing "Eerie Feary"
  • "Scaling Up" Baddie Bonus now requires 2 Muahaha Slots, up from 1
  • "Shock Therapy" now requires 2 Muahaha Slots, up from 1
  • "Harvester of Souls" now requires 1 Muahaha Slot, down from 2
  • "Scaling Up" now requires 2 Muahaha Slots, up from 1


BALANCE ADJUSTMENTS - HEROES & MISC:
  • Archer heroes have had their attack power increased
  • The Commandbro has received a 10% reduction in attack power and health points
  • Roguevenge Mode balance has been updated to be slightly easier in the first two waves, and somewhat more challenging in the later waves
  • Roguevenge Mode now has reduced instances of somewhat unfair spawning behavior (strong heroes entering the castle right next to the princess). Note: we are currently still looking into further improvements and adjustments around this
  • Roguevenge Power-Ups are now capped at holding up to 3 max at one time (per powerup type)
  • The game's economy has undergone some minor adjustments across the board

We hope you had a nice holiday and a happy new year! A new patch is now available for Steam players. Please read below for details:


ADDITIONS & CHANGES:
  • 7 Brand new Achievements have been added, mostly centered around Roguevenge and the new Spoils system
  • When the Princess is released from the Scream Chamber in Classic Mode, you can now retrieve her with the flying monkey by using the Evilness resource and a button at the top of the screen (this can only be activated once per stage). This feature was previously present in the original game
BUGFIXES:
  • Fixed a handful of achievements not working/triggering, and all achievements should now be working properly
  • Fixed an issue where the Hunky Knight would become invisible if afflicted by the "chill" status effect before jumping up a ladder
  • Fixed the "Neat Freak" Baddie Bonus on the Broom of Doom showing the wrong description text
  • Fixed an issue where Space Madness chapter floors with the power generator would sometimes prevent placing Doomkins when they shouldn't have
  • Fixed the "Build the castle to 7 floors" Evil Scheme in Roguevenge sometimes not completing properly
  • Fixed Classic Mode stages after Chapter 1 not showing the Stage # as a header in the Trap Select Screen before stages
  • Fixed the Chapter Select Screen camera centering on the Endless Knights chapter rather than the Space Madness chapter when exiting a Space Madness stage

Castle Doombad "Christmas HoliSLAY" Update



Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Castle Doombad Team! We hope you enjoy our Mini Holiday Update. Please read below for details:

CASTLE DOOMBAD CLASSIC - "HoliSLAY Event Update"
v0.9.3483 - 12/23/24

ADDITIONS & CHANGES:


  • 7 new themed Spoils and 1 new Doomkin reskin have been added as part of our "HoliSLAY Update!", includes a free Spoil that will unlock just for playing the game during the next two weeks! (Ends January 6th)
  • A new Event Scheme is available in Roguevenge Mode, which is also available until January 6th. It also unlocks a new Holislay Spoil
  • The new Spoils include all-new Baddie Bonus perks to unlock and equip
BUGFIXES:
  • The "Chilly" slowdown effect now affects hero climbing speed correctly
  • Fixed the Pirate Cannon not dimming on cooldown
  • Fixed a typo on the Space Throne spoil that stated it required 60 Roguevenge runs to be revealed, when it really required 70
  • Several other minor fixes and stability improvements

Although we are taking a short break for the holidays, we will be back in January with further bugfixes and improvements, including some Quality of Life improvements suggested to us in our forums, on our discord, and via email.
