A Year in Review and Future Plans

Hello, everyone!
As we near the end of the year, it's time to reflect and plan ahead. This festive post is dedicated to what 2024 brought us and what awaits INAYAH in 2025.
The Transformation of INAYAH This Year
This year has been incredibly challenging yet immensely productive. Much of what you see in the game today was created over the past 12 months. We revisited approaches, tested ideas, and reshaped the world of INAYAH.
Jungle Biome a Year Ago:

Jungle Biome Now:

Mines Biome a Year Ago:

Mines Biome Now:
We continue to polish existing content while completing the rest of the game. All this has been possible thanks to the incredible efforts of our fantastic team. We’re proud of the results and hope you’ll enjoy them!

Thank You for Supporting Us on Kickstarter!

This year, we connected more closely with our community by launching a Kickstarter campaign and receiving much-needed support.

Thank you for your enthusiasm - adding INAYAH to your wishlist, following the project, and helping us move forward. Your support is invaluable!
Plans for 2025

Demo Update
We’re thrilled to announce our participation in the upcoming Steam Next Fest with a brand-new demo of INAYAH: Life after Gods! Expect significant changes: refined mechanics, more levels to explore, an expanded arsenal, and much more. We've taken player feedback into account to make the demo even better!

And there’s more! Based on the current demo, we’re creating a special Boss Rush mode, which will be available shortly after release.
Release Date Coming Soon
We’re preparing to announce the exact release date very soon. What we can share now is that the game will launch in the first half of 2025!
Animated Cutscenes
We’re adding a lot of new content to the game, including animated cutscenes to immerse you even deeper into the world of INAYAH. Stay tuned for details in future devlogs!
Epic Bosses and Progression
We’re working on over 20 unique bosses, each offering a distinct challenge. While more than 15 are already available in the early version, we’re focusing on balance and uniqueness for the remaining ones.

Additionally, we’re developing a robust progression system with over 200 passive talents, 50 implants, and 10 Injector flowers, giving you endless build possibilities and ensuring every playthrough is unforgettable.
World Exploration
Our levels are brimming with secrets and hidden items for you to discover. These will soon be available for beta testers and in the new demo.
Post-Launch Plans
After release, we aim to provide long-term support for INAYAH, including porting the game to all major console platforms, developing DLCs, and continually improving the game based on your feedback. Who knows - maybe we’ll even create a sequel someday!
Happy Holidays!
Our team is taking a short break to return in January refreshed and full of ideas. From all of us at INAYAH, we wish you happy holidays and a wonderful New Year! Thank you for being with us, and see you in 2025!

Bestiary: Stories, Tips, and Bonuses

Bestiary

In the core game of Inayah, we introduce the Bestiary — a place to store stories about bosses, their tragic fates intertwined with local tribes, and useful information for hunters. Each boss is not just an enemy but a fully fleshed-out character with their own story and unique traits. The Bestiary will help you uncover their past and prepare for battles.

Unfortunately, the demo version of the game does not include this feature yet, but in the full version, you’ll be able to explore it to its fullest.
Notes
How it works:
 • Each entry in the Bestiary adds +5% damage against the boss.
 • Collect three notes to receive a fourth clue for free.
 • Clues reveal the boss's weaknesses, helping you plan your battle.
Example: Drone
Remember the Drone? That dangerous winged spearman who easily defeated three thousand players. Don’t worry; even the warriors of the Forest Masters tribe couldn’t take it down. The survivors left warning notes describing their encounters with the Drone.

Wrong Bees
"I wasn’t drunk on potions! That wasn’t a sting; it was a spear. A bee with a spear! Don’t believe me? Go and see for yourself. But beware: the creature wields it so fast you’ll lose track. It’ll pierce your fat belly in no time!"

You can collect these and better prepare for the upcoming fight. Everything you manage to learn about a boss will be stored in the Bestiary. One line in the Bestiary equals +5% additional damage in battle. Not bad, right?
Example: Rider
Notes aren’t the only source of knowledge. Sometimes, you can learn about a boss through conversations with locals.

Information from a Hunter's Dialogue
Some of you may have reached the Rider, who tamed a giant beetle. Not everyone is happy about the Sand People taming beetles. You'll meet a Hunter who will share knowledge about the Rider’s weaknesses... of course, for their own interests.
Example: Quillback
The final source of knowledge is visual clues found in hidden corners.

You’ve probably guessed that the unfortunate savage fell victim to Quillback. As Nix, one of the heroines of our game and a skilled huntress who will teach you how to track clues, says: “See a corpse, find out what killed it, or you’re next!”

We advise you to heed her advice. In the meantime, here’s how a page in the Bestiary of a true Boss Hunter might look.

In the demo version of the game, you can try battles with the listed bosses while we continue improving the Bestiary, its interface, and the user experience to make it as convenient and engaging as possible.

But that’s not all! Since bosses are an important part of the game, we’re preparing something special to dive deeper into their stories. We’ll share more in a future update. Stay tuned!

Bonus

To add some variety and show our gratitude for your attention, we’ve included a video of a Quillback fight on Hard mode. We hope you enjoy it!

Thank you for your time, and happy hunting!

Inayah Demo: Initial Results

Statistics

We’ve gathered some statistics from the demo version of the game and are excited to share the results!
Demo Launch Overview
The demo version has been launched by over 3,000 players! Around 1,000 players allowed us to collect analytics. Thank you! This data and your feedback have been the foundation for improvements.
Boss Results
Here’s how your encounters with the bosses went:
 • Drone: defeated 315 times, while players died to it 3,268 times.
 • Needleback: defeated 96 times, players died 862 times.
 • Rider: defeated 40 times, players died 180 times.

We strive to make each boss a unique gameplay experience and are actively working on balancing them to make the battles even more engaging. In the main game, we plan to expand their backstories and add more details to their narratives.
Death Statistics in Other Locations
• Area before Drone: 48 deaths.
 • Secret Platforming: 135 deaths.
 • Pastures: 117 deaths.
Secrets and Upgrades
Over 1,000 times the secret room was discovered!
However, 2,081 times upgrades were not used against the Drone.

Reminder: Upgrades are available via the radial menu, accessed by pressing the “menu” button. Use it to make progression easier!
Difficulty Selection
As expected, most players opted for Normal difficulty, but some brave ones tried their hand at Hard:
 • Normal difficulty: 70% of players.
 • Easy difficulty: 20% of players.
 • Hard difficulty: 10% of players.
What We Added in the Latest Patch
Last week, we released a small patch that lowered the difficulty and health of bosses on Easy and Normal difficulties. We also made several fixes to mechanics and the interface.

If you haven’t tried different difficulty levels yet – now’s the time! Difficulty affects not just the numbers, but also platforming, level design, and the bosses’ movesets.

Thank you to everyone who played the demo, shared feedback, and helped us improve the game!
We continue working on the game’s core content, balance, and UX to make it even better.

Stay tuned for more news!
