Demo 1.4.5 | Patch Notes

[p]Fixed every* crash scenario. You should now be able to complete the demo entirely crash free! I just want to thank everyone being so patient about this and I hope the lack of crashes make the game a lot better...

*The crash scenarios I am talking about are the one that happens when the power goes out after enemies have spawned in, as well as the crash that happens when entering the last cut-scene of the demo. Both of these were due to the code that de-spawns enemy AI, and deleting all the blood pools that the enemy had left behind. Was literally like a 2-line fix it was just tracking it down that took forever

I can finally go back to finishing the full release... hoping for a late November target! Reminder that this is a really small project and while the full game will have more mechanics, enemy types, and areas, I imagine the full game should only be around 2-3 hours in total. I hope you all will like it!

[h2]Important[/h2][p]Hello! I've been working for awhile on this last update and finally got it out just in time for Next Fest soon! This update aims to solve a lot of the issues that people have had with the demo from it's initial release, and hopefully make the game a lot more approachable.[/p][p]This update includes a full revamp of the tutorial, with visuals to help communicate some mechanics better, as well as some balance adjustments that make the enemies a lot less aggressive and give some breathing room to the player after the tutorial.[/p][h2]New Features[/h2]
  • [p]New Intro Sequence[/p]
    • [p]A new intro sequence before the tutorial, that introduces why the player is heading down into the depths of the underground world.[/p]
  • [p]Expanded Tutorial Area[/p]
    • [p]The tutorial area has been expanded to introduce more and give the player a safer area to get used to the gameplay loop.[/p]
  • [p]AI Adjustments[/p]
    • [p]A bunch of small AI adjustments to make the AI less aggressive while still being a large threat as the game progresses.[/p]
  • [p]Delete Save[/p]
    • [p]Added an option in the options menu to delete your save file. I recommend this if you want to experience the new tutorial.[/p]

Demo 1.3.2 | Patch Notes

[h2]Important[/h2][p]Hello everyone! Extremely happy to see many people playing the demo and enjoying it! I have done some quick fixes to address some bugs/issues with the demo as it was, but before that I want to address the issue of the tutorial. [/p][p]I have come to understand that the tutorial is not as understandable as I had hoped, so I will be taking some time over the new few days to create a much better tutorial that is hopefully does a better job at outlining the gameplay.[/p][h2]New Features[/h2]
  • [p]New Collision Notifier[/p]
    • [p]Added an audio and visual notification onto the Field Display to make it more clear the side the chassis is colliding with the environment on.[/p]
    • [p]This replaces the alarm from before, meaning the alarm now only pertains to enemy attacks.[/p]
    • [p]Collision sounds are also much louder.[/p]
  • [p]AI Adjustments[/p]
    • [p]Made Corrupted Mech much less aggressive on patrolling around the player.[/p]
    • [p]Made Corrupted Mech spawn much later after the player spawns in, giving the player time to get used to moving around more.[/p]
[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2][h3]Visual[/h3]
  • [p]Fixed the bug that made the chassis continuously shake during a power out after being attacked.[/p]
[p][/p][p]I know there is still a lot more to fix, specifically a bug that causes the power out tutorial to not trigger on the first power out, and I'm looking into it. For now hopefully this lowers the difficulty to a point where it isn't constant enemies after you. Until next time![/p]
