v8.32d - March 9th, 2026
-The game will now make safety quicksaves during the run that can only be loaded if the game crashes
-Added elemental reactions to Split, Burning, Voltage, Venom, and Molten Veyeral
-Adjusted the defense and weakness values for several Veyerals
-Added a new tab in the monster collection to separate the new elemental reactions from other battle tips
-Changed Wisp's bullet sprites
-Bug Fix: Sapphire's bouncy rocks would not wrap around the screen correctly in some cases
-Bug Fix: Some breakable parts would add to your score a few frames after breaking, causing lost score if the break simultaneously ends a phase or battle

I've now implemented the 3rd variant which will be called "Gloomy Battles" into 62 out of 112 battles. More than half way done!

I started on a 4th and final variant that I need specifically for one of the newest monster's burdens coming soon. The 4th variant doesn't really have a name, but you'll understand when it's all ready. I've already got it into 25 of 112 battles.

The first 3 variants (Wrathful, Repelling, and Gloomy) are mutually exclusive, so they can't stack on top of each other. But the 4th variant can stack with any of the other 3! I was originally going to save the 4th variant for later, but I decided it would be easier to add along side the 3rd for this reason.

I uploaded this one a little early mostly because I wanted to fix a bug with Calorie's battle. I ended up breaking it in the last patch while adding a new variant to her battle. As a little progress report, the new variant has been added to 38 out of the 112 battles so far! After those are done, the effect will be added to some burdens and bounties.

Another thing that's been on my list for a long time is to change the way the parts break on some monsters after they are defeated. I've seen players be unsure if they managed to break every part of a monster, because they would all visually break the moment the battle ends. I saw this most often with Roundsaw in particular, but I went through several others that could have this problem. I changed these monsters and all their alters: Rendy, Snowball, Roundsaw, Syncron, Stella, and Celestia

-Added elemental effects to Amalga, Calorie, Joule, and Shiny Joule
-Added another elemental effect to Blot, Avoidant Blot, and Null Blot
-Lowered Calorie's burn defense
-Changed all of Celestia's void spike attacks into ice spikes
-Some monsters will no longer instantly visually destroy all their breakable parts when they are defeated, so you can tell if you missed any parts
-Bug Fix: Calorie did not start her full arena attack in her second phase

I've added some of those elemental damage effects that you can do in the newest 2 battles to several old battles. You can also view the battle tips for monsters in any mode now including quickplay. This is where these new elemental effects will be detailed.

These were added to these monsters: Scrambla, Shy Scrambla, Boiler, Rage Boiler, Glacia, Alter Glacia, Null Glacia, Blot, Avoidant Blot, and Null Blot

All the Glacias also had their burn weakness lowered a little bit to balance for the new igniting effect on her petals.

-Added elemental damage effects to several battles
-Adjusted some defense values for monsters

-You can now view a monster's battle tips page in any menu where you can check monster including quickplay
-All types of monster bullets will now pop when they hit your core
-When a bullet is destroyed or absorbed by a panic, the particles will now match the bullet's element
-Added the notes text in the collection for the 2 newest monsters
-The 2 new monsters can now only appear in story mode if you've seen the shiny battle tutorial first
-When tabbing between monsters, you can now wrap around between the first and last options
-Added special text to the top of the monster select menu when you are in a stage event
-Changed the color of zap danger bubbles to distinguish them more from the yellow safety bubbles
-Renamed Burdened helpers to Thorned helpers because burdened helpers works better as a name for the entire category of negative effect helpers
-Changed the requirement for one of the newest dreams to not allow the use of a panic attack

In addition to this, I've been working on a 3rd battle variant similar to the wrathful and repelling battles, but you'll have to wait until all of them are done!

Voidentines Day Special - Update #108

[h2]Your Controls have been reset to default![/h2][p]My main focus with this update was finally adding a 4th button to menu controls. The main purpose of this button is to be able to check the details of any gift within any event. It's also now the "remove gift" button for equipping stuff in quickplay, so you can actually use "check heart" in that menu now.[/p][p]I've needed to add this button for a looong time, but there was a big reason I procrastinated on it for so long. I couldn't simply add a new button binding, because there is always a chance it would default to a key or button that you're already using. This could lead to a softlock where you can't get to the options menu to fix your buttons! If you've changed any of your menu controls, then your keys had to be reset. You will get a message on the title screen if this applies to you.[/p][p]While I was already adding the 4th button and resetting your controls anyways, I figured I'd go ahead and add 2 more buttons for a heavily requested feature. I've added 2 tab buttons so you can actually cycle through all your monster choices without having to press back every time! This is actually something that was bothering me for a long time, and I'm glad it's finally done.[/p][p]Are new menu controls really enough for an anniversary update? Of course not! I also made 2 new rare special monsters! One for level 9 and one for level 10. Yeah, I know. I can't help myself. It's a sickness. I have to make boss battles every so often or I'll go insane. Preparations weren't quite ready for starting the Family Tower bosses, so here you go![/p][p]One last thing. I made it so bullets will break when they touch you. This was actually a bug that happened by accident, but I kinda liked it, so I wanted to leave it in and see how it feels. [h2]Upcoming Stuff for version 8[/h2][p]Before I get to the family tower bosses, there are a few other loose ends that I want to tie up. I'll be patching the game every week until a lot of these things are done. This includes things like finishing up the 4 missing interactions in the Gift Delivery events, and some interactions from a few Bonding Time events. I also want to catch up on blessings and burdens from the new monsters, and clean out as much of the "To Do" list as possible. I'm confessing right now, that I've also already planned a rare special boss for level 11 and 12 during this time.[/p][p]When I'm satisfied with those weekly updates, this will be the order of the remaining features.[/p]
