[p]Hello everyone.[/p][p][/p][h3]Wraith Ops will now release later in 2026.[/h3][p][/p][p]As a small indie team working on our first title, your support means a lot to us, and it’s important we deliver a high-quality game that you deserve. [/p][p]Thanks to all who participated in the Next Fest Demo. We've received a lot of valuable feedback from our community and have made the difficult decision to delay the game.[/p][p]As a result, we’ve removed the release date for now while we take the time needed to address the feedback. Wraith Ops Launches March 12 | Play the Demo NOW

[p]Hello, everyone.[/p][p]We are incredibly excited and proud to announce that Wraith Ops will release on Steam on March 12th 2026![/p][p][/p][p]As first-time game developers in the indie space, working on a passion-driven project has been arduous but also incredibly illuminating. Multiplayer games are extremely difficult to make. We are a small indie team comprising 7 total team members – 5 full-time staff and 2 part-time staff working remotely.[/p][p]For years, Wraith Ops was a 2-person project, which explains the slow development and long production timeline. [/p][p][/p][h2]Our Mission [/h2][p]Wraith Ops is not here to disrupt the FPS space as a ‘COD killer’ or ‘Battlefield killer’; nothing about our endeavour suits this framing. We are not trying to fill a void or solve gaming. Our mission was to build something grounded with deliberate mechanics and minimal system clutter. We know the game won’t please everyone.[/p][p][/p][p]Our core intent is to build a minimalistic, straightforward tactical shooter without all the fluff – no battle passes, no FOMO mechanics, no heavy progression grind, and no systems designed to waste your time. We have developed a game predicated on simplicity, devoid of any bloat.[/p][p][/p][p]We are a small team trying to build a focused tactical FPS in the way that we wish modern shooters were built.[/p][p]
[/p][h2]Gameplay[/h2][p]Our gameplay philosophy is all about gunplay and gameplay first, with slower, tactical movement; it’s meant to feel weighty and intentional with your positioning. You cannot abuse fast shoulder-peeking; your peeks must be deliberate.
[/p][p]Strafing and jiggle peeking are intentionally difficult, and spamming A/D will result in a movement slowdown. Headshots take two to three hits to kill, peeking requires intentional commitment, and we have various recoil patterns for higher skill ceilings. [/p][p][/p][p]This is all to support a design approach that offers an easy-to-play and hard-to-master gameplay experience, rewarding positioning and emphasising tactical pacing. We have developed a game that is accessible for new players, whilst retaining a skill ceiling through recoil control and positioning.[/p][p]
[/p][h2]Next Fest Demo[/h2][p]You can play the Wraith Ops Demo as part of Steam Next Fest until close on March 2nd. 
[/p][p]We’re aware of a few issues in the demo thanks to your feedback. Spawns are being looked at. Animation improvements are needed, alongside map design tweaks that we’re currently actioning. We know the game isn’t perfect, and we’re still actively iterating.[/p][p][/p][h3]A New Airfield[/h3][p]Airfield is one of the new and improved demo maps. Demo Update: Team Deathmatch Added

[p]Hello everyone, [/p][p]Thank you for jumping into the Wraith Ops demo this week and sharing your feedback![/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]New Game Mode: Team Deathmatch[/h3][p]Deathmatch is now live in the demo. We've implemented a respawn mode to give you a better opportunity to test the game at scale and experience more gunfights. You can jump straight back into the action instead of waiting for the next round in Arena.[/p][p]Arena will remain an option if you prefer a more contemplative, tactical approach to gameplay. [/p][p]There's a high frequency of Arena servers live, so please continue to scroll down through the server list if you can't see a Deathmatch server populated at the top. A New Airfield

[p]Hello everyone, [/p][p][/p][p]Airfield has come a long way since some of you got your first hands-on experience with it during our public playtest last August. Your feedback has been incredibly useful, and we appreciate you taking the time to participate.[/p][p]Since then, we’ve iterated heavily and want to share how the map has evolved. [/p][p][/p][h3]Why the changes?[/h3][p][/p][p]The original Airfield had a problematic layout, with disjointed objective locations that failed to maintain a healthy pace in gameplay. The plane objective, for example, was placed too close to spawn points – skewing balance and favouring the team defending. [/p][p] [/p][carousel][/carousel][p]The hangar occupied a redundant space, only offering a strong elevated position that exposed too many spawn-to-objective paths. And we’re sure you remember that rooftop on the adjacent building, encouraging spawn camping that was hard to counter in a meaningful way. [/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p][p]Some areas also felt like we were prioritising visuals over gameplay, and we simply didn’t believe that the old Airfield matched the visual identity we’re striving for with Wraith Ops. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]A New Airfield[/h3][p][/p][p]We’ve completely revamped Airfield by organising and reworking areas around objectives. The updated map introduces new lines of combat; dividing sections between areas, and provides players with more options to navigate the map and approach gunfights.[/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p][p]These changes should eliminate the frequency of ‘dumb death’ moments you experienced in the original Airfield. [/p][p] [/p][carousel][/carousel][p] [/p][p]We’re excited to get the new Airfield and our whole collection of maps in your hands in the next playtest.  [/p][p]This game started as a passion project and at its heart, remains true to its core.
