Early Access Patch 031: The New Year New Vibes Patch

Hope everyone had a great start to the new year! We’re kicking off our first patch for the new year with a continuation of the multiple levels for abilities, as well as plenty of bug fixes

Gameplay
Zed: Grav Pull Levels 2 & 3 – Level 2 increases the AoE while Level increases the debuff intensity
Zed: Tempest Levels 2 & 3 – Level 2 increases the length of the Dot effect while Level 3 increases the AoE
Zed: Cyclops Satellite Levels 2 & 3 – Level 2 increases the duration of the ability and Level 3 increases the damage dealt
Zed: Condenser Levels 2 & 3 – Level 2 protects resources from certain attacks, while Level 3 increases the carrying capacity of the compartment
Zed: Vulture Levels 1, 2 & 3 – Vulture allows you to salvage destroyed units from afar. Levels 2 increases the total amount of iron that can be salvaged, while level 2 increases amount of platinum salvageable
Iron Strike: Gambit Levels 2 & 3 – Level 2 adds damage reduction to the unit while the ability is in effect, and Level 3 increases the artillery damage while the ability is in effect
Responders: Redeemer Levels 1, 2 & 3 - Redeemer allows you to salvage destroyed units. Level 2 increases the salvage rate of iron, while level 3 increases the salvage rate of platinum
Iron Strike: Extraction Levels 1, 2 & 3 - Extraction allows you to salvage destroyed units. Level 2 allows you to salvage them from afar, while level 3 increases the salvaging rate of iron
Kylian: Salvager Levels 2 & 3 – Level 2 increases the salvaging rate of iron, while Level 3 increases the salvaging rate of platinum
Responders: Last Hope Level 3 – The final artillery shot while Last Hope is activated gets a massive increase in damage
Jammer Level 2 – The debuffed unit can still fire their artillery cannon, but takes damage when they do so
Kylian: Cryostasis Level 3 – Level 3 increases the debuff intensity
Leech Levels 2 & 3 – Level 2 causes further damage when the unit fires their artillery cannon, while Level 3 increases the max range and the AoE

Fixed
Issues with Ghost with multiple units spawning, and spawned units being able to build facilities
An issue with Afterburn L2 being unable to be researched
An issue with multiple abilities missing tooltips or were transparent in some cases
An issue with Scrambler’s debuff not happening
An issue with debuff timers sometimes going into negative numbers
Issues with some abilities having the wrong icons for their applied buffs or debuffs
An issue with debuff icons being clickable
An issue with your own recon orb giving you a debuff
An issue with Scutum lasting for less than a second
An issue with the Totem Launcher being unable to be added when playing as client

Early Access Patch 030: The Seasons Greetings Patch – 24th December 2020

Hello! And goodbye to 2020! We’re excited to give you the all-new salvage system. Facility wrecks can be salvaged to recover some minerals. We’re also introducing Level 2 and Level 3 upgrades to quite a few abilities across different factions so you can hit harder, along with a new ability to Zed.
This is our last patch of 2020.Thank you for supporting us through this year. Happy Holidays! See you in 2021, which will see the full release launch of Miner’s Mettle!

Gameplay
Kylian: Cryostasis - Level 2 shoots farther on the map and with a larger AoE
Kylian: Shrouded Shot - Level 2 shots are quieter and have larger sound rings
Kylian: Afterburn - Level 2 now lets you control the train
Kylian: Caustic Grenade - Level 2 shoots farther on the map and with a larger AoE
Responders: Cluster Bomb - Level 2 Has a higher maximum range and suffer lower distance penalty to damage
Responders: Prophets Eye - Level 2 has a larger radius in which it detects enemies
Responders: Armor Plating - Levels 2 & 3 offer higher levels of protection for every level
Responders: Last Hope - Level 2 increases the time you get to let off your last shot
Iron Strike: Scutum - Levels 2 & 3 give you higher range and length respectively
Iron Strike: Power Surge - Level 2 & 3 increase damage output and reduce incoming damage penalty by 25% respectively
Iron Strike: Kinetic Catapult - Level 2 increases the range and AoE while Level 3 makes for a faster projectile
Iron Strike: Kevalin Satellite - Level 2 has an increased duration for your spying needs
Zed: The Ghost nano-drone system creates a particularly realistic hologram of the origin unit, complete with an identical electronic signature

Fixed
A bug where getting a notification could crash the game in some instances
An issue with Corruptor not consuming energy
A bug where the trajectory would be stuck after energy is depleted on clients for Zed
A bug where Totem launchers couldn’t be added to units
An issue with enemy AI sound rings not being visible
An issue with Totem launchers not switching
An issue with Totem launcher cool downs not showing

Early Access Patch 029: The Leap Year Patch – 9th December 2020

Our focus this patch continued to be on abilities and bug-fixing. We have a total of 6 abilities (or 7 if you count Gambit, which we snuck in on a hotfix soon after the last patch), which we’re excited to show off and get feedback on!

Gameplay
Zed: Parry – A defensive ability that can send hostile projectiles right back from whence they came
Zed: Condenser – Allows you to cram in more resources in that compartment, and protects them
Kylian: Caustic Grenade – Does some small damage on impact and also melts raw minerals on the affected unit
Iron Strike: Gambit - Reveals the unit completely to the enemy by creating a lot of noise; the noise drowns out other close by units’ activities
Iron Strike: Inferno – On impact creates an inferno of fire, that does damage to units and also melts raw minerals on affected units that pass through
Zed: Eagle Eye – Detects moving units and marks them on the map for a period of time
Zed: Corrupt – A hacking attack that can shut down a unit’s engines temporarily if hit with Corrupt frequently enough

Fixed
Last Hope ability – fixed empty tooltips and game logs when the ability was destroyed and thus activated
Gambit ability – fixed VFX issues, it’s position in the research screen, and a lack of a buff tooltip for units positively affected by Gambit
An issue with adding compartments to units were not reducing that unit’s speed
Multiple issues with the UI of the research screen and particularly the facilities tab within
Prophet’s Eye ability – VFX issues, lack of a tooltip or description
An issue with the Hecatomb ability not working on client
An issue with the EMP mine ability sometimes triggering but not affecting units
A crash after the EMP Mine ability landed and was powering up
An issue with projectile trajectory not being remove after energy was fully depleted on Client
An issue with chip icons not aligning properly
An issue with no faction icon in the sidebar of the tutorial
An issue with enemy recon debuffs not being applied properly
An issue with the Afterburn ability showing a debuff icon for Grav Pull instead
An issue with unloading resources having a black box and a placeholder icon on the task queue
An issue with projectiles not landing in the right spot depending on the wind effect

Early Access Patch 028: The Lucky Number Patch – 25th November 2020

Continuing our focus on abilities, we add 7 exciting new ones in today’s patch. There are also some bug fixes, and we added in a tantalizing (but unclickable) Campaign button in the main menu, to mark the shift of our main focus to the campaign.

Gameplay
Responders: Prophet’s Eye – Launch a proximity mine that temporarily reveals the surrounding area upon activation
Zed: Hecatomb – Units carrying raw minerals can repair themselves at the cost of some minerals
Zed: Corruptor – A projectile with an electronic payload, hitting a unit with three of these within a period causes the unit’s engine to shut down temporarily
Responders: Armored Plating – A passive ability, increases the damage resistance of the unit but also slows it down
Responders: Last Hope – A passive ability, allowing the unit to survive when it should be destroyed for a short period and letting one last artillery shot be fired
Kylian: Jammer – Clogs enemy unit’s turrets. Units that have been jammed can still fire, but the projectile causes damage to the firing unit
Kylian: EMP Mine – Launch a proximity mine that temporarily disables units upon activation

UI
Added an (unclickable) button for Campaign in the main menu
Arranged factions alphabetically in the faction select screen
Re-added in the random faction option in the single player horde mode

Fixed
An issue with Repair Unit task being able to be added to the task queue repeatedly
An issue with the max energy cap not updating on clients
An issue with adding a compartment to a unit not decreasing the maximum speed
An issue with a unit being bricked after docking at a facility
An issue with simultaneously pressing Shift or control and Z while trying to dock a unit
An issue with the tutorial screen not having a faction icon in the win screen
An issue with any recon in progress disappearing when loading up a save file
