A new Dune Awakening beta has arrived, and it's already flying on Steam

A popular IP, some challenging and uniquely presented survival mechanics, and a shared world that's ripe for some wild moments, Dune Awakening has all the ingredients to be one of this year's biggest hits, despite the fierce competition. With launch only a month away, Funcom is giving players one final chance to give it a go before the big day, as its massive "large-scale" beta has just kicked off. Despite being an invite-only beta, its player count on Steam is pretty impressive already, and getting access may not be as tricky as you think.

Everyone who has a Dune: Awakening pre-order can now also access the Beta Weekend!

We heard your feedback on this, and we’ve been working with Steam on a solution. If you already own or decide to pre-order any of the editions this weekend, you should now also see a Beta Weekend product in your Steam library. You might need to restart your Steam client to see the Dune: Awakening Beta Weekend app.

The final Dune Awakening beta before launch is now live, as thousands flock to the sands to mine iron and stab each other

The final Dune Awakening beta is now live, which will allow thousands of fresh-faced players to hop into Funcom's open world survival MMO for the first time. This beta, which is running over the weekend, will cover the first two major zones of the game, giving folks a peek at the early game experience.

What are the best Dune Awakening settings for PC and Steam Deck? While not a traditional MMORPG, in that the RPG elements have been replaced with survival crafting, Dune Awakening is still incredibly easy to run. Getting a fast frame rate out of Dune won't be hard, provided you meet the minimum demands.

The Dune Awakening system requirements are incredibly detailed, and paint the picture of a game that will run even on older gaming PCs. However, to access the best performance possible in Dune Awakening, including Nvidia DLSS 4 and frame generation, you're going to need one of the best graphics cards.
